  • Wanted to try these vlf detectors on wet sand. They are both good on dry sand and land. They are ok in the wet salty sand. I wouldn't recommend these for hunting in wet sand but it can be done. Adjusting the disc quiets them down, but you may disc out gold.

Your confidence in the machines ability to find your wedding ring would really make a great commercial haha

Thanks for uploading this good example of a fair test. I think black sand would be their only weakness. Above all else they seem to function very well.

Thanks..great video. I just ordered an 8 inch coil compadre. Weird that TreasureBarrel posted a video showing a Compadre couldn't pick up a gold 14k earring that was just sitting on top of mineralized soil and on all metals.

I am using the Tesoro Mojave and really want to get into beach hunting. With the Mojave you have 2 settings for black sand. Do you think a small widescan coil would help much for this with the Mojave?

probably i did not pay attention, but, did you mention how deep did u hide the targets?

I've used my vlf detectors on the beach too, and can find some good targets. If you can put up with the chatter, you can start to discern the good targets from the bad in all metal mode. Its just kind of annoying, and you dig some phantom signals. HH!

great vid , the tesoro,s are great uniuts and you don,t need more.
if you like digging holes about 20 inches...then you buy the more expensive ones or pi units..
for coins , some jewelry , and some bobby pins too ....just buy a detector from 200 up to 300 dollar..
and it will give you pleasure ass well as treasure,s
when you need to hunt underwater , or especially in salt water you need to take a specialist for the job and that will have its price off course.
just have fun , and blows and wissles dont give you hike ( #$@%&* )
if you dont like digging , than go darting
