Awe, you're so sweet and brave; I am new at painting but seem to be doing alright in my decorative projects and one strokes but it took a whole lot of practicing. LOL, I look at my practice pages and what a mess I was at first but I stuck too it and can paint some of the lovely flowers that you all share here on youtube. I love that our technology as come so far and that there are so many nice people like you willing to share what you know. I think you did GREAT in your video. Thank you so much for sharing. I hope you stick to it. I don't know how long ago you've shared; I can't find the date on my tablet. I will probably show on my computer, though. Anyway, I know that people can be mean for no reason and I just hope that, number 1. no one was mean to you and number 2 that you still share your cool ideas here on youtube. Thank you again, Debby
Hi Cindy, this is a very helpful video. I'm just beginning what I hope will be a flourish into painting with acryllic. Gesso is a new product to my mind and ears, so this was very helpful.
This is a great video! Thank you 😁 Is the gesso a sufficient primer for acrylic projects? Like the acrylic won't peel over time and I don't need to use another layer of sealent or primer? I just want to make sure 🌺
hey :) i have some wooden crochet hooks i really love but i dont like the color that much, its alteady dark brown with lighter brown swirls in it (i believe its called „wenge“ wood) but i want it to be black. can i paint them? what would be a good color for things like that that be touched a lot and how can i get it even? every help is highly appreciated! :)
I have used a shellac based primer - Bullseye Zinsser? on wood cut outs. It dries almost immediately and covers extremely well. Also comes in a spray can so you can cover many pieces really quickly if you want to. By priming with white base, all other colors used on top are much brighter and more true.
Can I just use Mod Podge to seal Balsa Wood? I have two tea boxes to finish somehow and I have not seen anyone yet use Mod Podge. I don't want to buy another glue.
Hi. Before using Acrylic paint, do you protect the carving/wood with protection oil against bugs etc...? I painted some carving with Acrylic and i used protection oil before painting and now i'm kinda nervous for any unexpected reaction betwen oil and Acrylic...so any answer on that would be more than welcome and helpful!
Hi, if you want the wood to be clear then I would recommend using a clear varnish. I use Delta Ceramcoat and I purchase it at Michael's. They have matte, satin and gloss. Any works fine because you will lightly sand after it dries.
this may be a stupid question, but can I use semi gloss polyurethane on an acrylic painting? I painted my acoustic guitar face with acrylic.... The guitar has a standard factory gloss finish on it, less the face of the body..... I would like to get the same finish on the face so the face doesn't look dull while the rest of it shines..... Can I do this with polyurethane or will that ruin the acrylic? Would tung oil, shalaq, or truoil be better?
I just started painting on wood medallions, and this was just the information I needed to do it properly!
Thanks for showing us newbies ❤️
Very helpful video!! I learned a lot. Thank you!!

Thanks for the information. Loved the item from Lowes for sanding and the curtain clip to hold while painting. I enjoyed your presentation.

Thank you for sharing this valuable information
We made sanding blocks like that in 7th grade wood shop.
Do we need to debug the bare wood?

or use clear gesso. Liqutex makes that as well.
