Problem is you’ll end up with water stains, and it will wrinkle up again after a while. You can use an iron and a weight, better if you can nail it in shape.
I have accomplished the same thing by simply either rolling the corner over once or twice or folding it inwards & leaving something heavy on it for 30mins-to-a few hrs. If there is a hump afterwards then place something heavy on the hump for about 15-30mins My cat loves going to the corner of the carpet for some reason & rolling it back up to a curl. I have to do this when i know we i we are going to have guess.
Or just use water. It's like it is with your hair. If you make it wet, style it weirdly and let it dry that way, it will stay. But this also has its limits.
@blindivy3407 I don't know what so many people have. I just wash my hair and let it dry. I never to anything else like oiling, conditioning, styling, nothing. My hair is absolutely fine. How can water cause damage to your hair!? Unless you wash ever day (which isn't healthy in the first place).
It'll curl back up when it's dry. Not sure if the same thing applies here but I crochet blankets and to get the corners flat you need to block them. That means after it's wet you pin it down to a flat surface typically foam or wood and let it air dry. As the fibers dry they'll maintain the shape they're blocked in so you want to make sure it's as flat as possible.
Well generally when something like a rug is wet, it tends to be less stiff and more moldable ya know, wait for it to dry and a lil while later it might just dols back up, idk 😶
Pretty sure you can just make the area around the corner wet and just have something a bit heavier press down on the corner itself. That way you release the tension on it and as it dries it will stay in the same flat position.
@@vinnyeruI'm not sure what you mean. Bc I have wavy hair, so if I were to just get out of the shower and scrunch the water out with a towel and not brush it, it'll be wavy. That's why ppl with curly/wavy hair brush their hair in the shower, bc otherwise, their curls aren't as pretty. Lol.
But if it dries, it isn't going to poke back up? I thought it woukd My hair is curly af if I wet it it'll stay down then spring back into curls when it dries unless I use a straightener
this can be explained by the load force, the weight of the glass being heavier than the corners of the folded carpet and left like that will cause the carpet to be stressed and form into its initial shape
seriously? the water isn’t heavy enough to weigh it down. I don’t know why you’d even think that’s it. Why do you think your laundry comes out of the dryer without wrinkles? The moisture & the drying process coupled with constant tossing of the clothes keeps wrinkles from forming. If you take your clothes out when the cycle ends they’ll be free of wrinkles. If you leave them in the dryer overnight they will have wrinkles because they’ve cooled down and sat in one wrinkled position for so long. The ice slowly melts which keeps the carpet wet longer than it would if you just put water on it. The cup holds down the carpet. Leave it overnight. When it’s dry take the cup off and it’ll stay down because the way water evaporating interacts with the fabric of the carpet will cause the stitching to become flat and stable again. It might curl up over a month or so because the fabric is so thick; the same thing can happen with a shirt, sometimes there’s a wrinkle that’s just impossible to get rid of so you have to bust out the iron and stretch the fabric a bit to get the threads to rearrange. It’s not so easy when it comes to a rug because the material is so much thicker than a shirt. A better way to do this would be to get the corner wet, fold it down underneath itself in the opposite direction it’s curving (like in the shape of a square with the bit of one corner cut off) pinch it really hard, bring the triangle out a little bit and pinch it again, keep doing that till you can’t anymore, then put the ice and cup and leave it 24 hrs. Pinching it the opposite direction will really help the fabric stop trying to bend upwards
An Ice Cube Will Fix Dents In The Carpet. Like when you move your table or couch, and it leaves those marks in the carpet. Put an ice cube in it and let it melt. Then vacuum it to fluff it. Not sure if it still works on newer carpet. But i used to do it at my old place.
