Sewing new clothes for spring (using old textiles!)

  • Three new spring staples for your wardrobe: The pleated jeans, the warm blanket turned into a worker's jacket, and the embroidered blouse from a tablecloth.
    Sewing patterns used:
Boxy Shirt from Wardrobe By Me wardrobebyme.c...
Painter Jacket from Wardrobe By me wardrobebyme.c...
Pleated Pants Burda Style 118 09/2015
I love remaking old textiles into new clothes, and my style is inspired by 60's and 70's fashion but I like to be inspired by contemporary Scandinavian brands too. The pleated jeans is something I've seen on the street in Copenhagen recently and immediately felt I needed to sew my own pair. I have a hard time finding nice organic and/or deadstock denim - Do you have any recommendations?

Love the video, and your white walls with clutter 😉😘😘😘 (I know many great designers that don't live in instagramable places, inspiration comes in all types of forms and you are clearly one of them!)

Thank you! Haha! I thought it was funny how they seemed so upset with the video. I didn’t know I could touch people that way 😅 (I appreciate it 🫶)

Love the video! Also yes! if you are filming and don’t live somewhere tropical or warm year round, white walls help reflect the light that is there. Love how the blouse turned out, the sleeves are 🤩 I found some fabric in my grandmothers craft room and tried over an entire summer to make an a line maxi skirt with an elastic waistband. It did not work out, trying to read the pattern and learn how to use my sewing machine 🤯 so much respect for anyone who can.

Especially the blouse turned out so lovely!! - I wanna go to the fleamarket and find a cute tablecloth for sewing now!! (I've sewn with old curtains before but - for some reason - never a tablecloth ;)
