Finally the Nintendo 64 getting some love! It might not be the rpg machine, but it introduced the 3d platformer and had the best multiplayer games to start too. I have some great memories of the N64 as well, but I can tell that this was the bedrock of gaming as a kid where some of our best memories come from. So many eras of my life and the innocence of being a kid and playing games was a highlight. So much simpler times it seems, and had some great friends back then I have lost touch with as well. There was some greats it seems I have missed out on such as F Zero X, it really get lots of love here. Paper Mario 64 too, damn I wish I played those and seem worth checking out for sure. I think in the community comments so far I think everyone prefers Banjo, but I always liked Mario 64 better and 100% that game couple times. Really was epitome of gaming for me. I did not put that much time into Banjo though so another one worth checking into because I love the 3d platform exploration and collecting things in the level Banjo is known for. Played the crap out of Golden Eye and Mario 64 too. Glad times are better with lots more great gaming ahead, and the video was heartfelt at the end.
Your Nintendo 64 retrospective is the greatest retrospective of all time!!! You were so raw and real with what you experienced, played, and lived. Your memories being recalled are so touching and heartfelt to me. They go back to a simpler time where we only cared about video games, cartoon shows like Pokemon, Ed Edd n Eddy, and SpongeBob, and ToysRus. I loved your F-Zero X, the greatest game of all time, segment. Pure 2000’s. Today’s world will never experience what we did. And it’s such a shame. Which is why I appreciate the times my bro and I had playing Nintendo games. What I would give to relive that moment of my life one more time.
Love the subtle detail in that early skit he had to resort to to physical confrontation when the friend brought out the rpg(the n64 had dickall for them lmao).
Oh man, this is your best video to date, love all the improvements in the video effects, very cinematic. But yeah, I have to say it like it is, the skit I'm in is the best, loved how it turned up lol Overall, I'm right there with you, the N64 definitely trigger a lot of nostalgic memories for me, times spent with my friends in front of the TV playing great games...pure magic from Nintendo.
I 100% agree with your conclusions drawn after reembarking with this console. I had nothing but great memories of my time with the Nintendo 64 in my formative years and it seemed like everything in "the real world" wanted to pull me away from that, be it the stress of high school, social conforming to the new trends / consoles, and post-high school endeavours (college / careers / etc.). It wasn't until I was around the same age that I realized I could have the best of both worlds and vigorously dug back into my roots as a passionate classic game player. Beautifully done video with a lot of excellent commentary. You should be more than proud of this retrospective, my friend.
Thanks teddy and yeah bro playing videogames as a teenager was not very enjoyable since i was more into getting in trouble like a fool. But now a days life is way better for me
Great video bro this took me back 🤯 Crazy and fascinating to see how NG4 played a crucial part of you life with you and your family. I think it really goes to show what Nintendo does well to this day! SN: My favorite game was Goldeneye 007 but I think the best soundtrack has to go to Mario Kart 64 those sounds are incredible!
Such a really good retrospective Malta. So many memories and great times with a number of n64 games, thank you for sharing. 1 of the best consoles ever.
The channel has grown tremendously; quite the evolution! I like the storytelling narrative; as well as the ambitious direction. The Amateur-esque and DIY nature is soothing, I don't really remember the games but remember the times hahaha
Great video. Thanks for sharing your story and memories. It's cool that your parents like playing games. July 1999 my oldest sister and my brother in law got me the Nintendo 64 Star Wars Episode I Racer Limited Edition Set and I still have my childhood console. The Nintendo 64 is one of favorite console. I have fond memories playing with my best friends, other friends, sisters, brother in laws and cousins. I never played Mario Kart 64 until February 2021 when I bought it. Also Super Mario 64 and Excitebike 64. There's still alot of games that i haven't played that I want to like F-Zero X, Stunt Racer 64, Pokémon Stadium II, ect.. Here's my collection.... Middle Childhood: • Star Wars Episode 1 Racer • WCW vs nWo: World Tour • Mortal Kombat 4 • Dark Rift • Pokémon Snap • WWF WrestleMania 2000 • Super Smash Bros. 64 • Namco Museum 64 • Diddy Kong Racing Adolescence: • WWF No Mercy • Knockout Kings 2000 • WCW/ nWo Revenge • Conker's Bad Fur Day • Perfect Dark • Donkey Kong 64 • GoldenEye 007 • Pokémon Stadium • Tony Hawk's Pro Skater • Rampage II: Universal Tour • Cruis'n USA • Vigilante 8 Adult: • NFL Blitz 2001 • Mortal Kombat Trilogy • Extreme-G • Wave Race 64 • Doom 64 • WWF War Zone • WWF Attitude • Mario Kart 64 • Extreme-G II • Super Mario 64 • Excitebike 64 • Re-Volt • Army Men Sarge's Heroes • Army Men Air Combat • San Francisco Rush Extreme Racing • Cruis'n World
I never had an N64 but I did get to play lots of the games that interested me one way or another. The games I played: - Mario 64: Blew my mind back then. Still one of my favorite Mario games and there has yet to be a 3D Mario game I enjoy more. I think Oddessey could take the spot if I ever play it. Mario Sunshine was lots of fun but very restrictive. Galaxy was great too but not as great as 64. And Mario Galaxy 2 bored me to no end because it took longer to get into the level and I already fell asleep midgameplay. It was very linear unlike 64. - Pokemon Stadium - Pokemon Stadium 2: My favorite Pokemon game. Not only can you make a team with rentals and your own. You can make your own custom gym battles and fight your own made up gym. There is a school that teaches you the game mechanics. The tournaments and towers are challenging. Characters despite being just 3 images have lots of personality with various intro quotes, in-battle dialog and even quotes when losing or winning against you. It makes me want to beat their ass when they make fun of me when I lose. That doesn't happen in the mainline games. The mainline Pokemon games the characters don't even acknowledge that you lost against them. - Kirby 64: you can fuse abilities and the boss fight against 02 was terrific. Such a horrorfying enemy. Kirby final bosses give me nightmares. - Super Smash Bros: such a fun game. couldn't get enough of it as a child. - Pokemon Snap - Mario Kart 64: Never liked the game but was obligated to play it at a friends house because you can't always play what you want - Mario Party: Don't know which one but similar reason to above. Didn't care for random bullshit . Mario Tennis: Didn't care but another game we played because friends. - Golden Eye 007 - Yoshi's Story - Dr Mario 64 Wish the Nintendo 64 DD came out here. Apparently F-Zero had a level editor. Don't remember anything special anymore. btw, great editing. Loved the ending message. It's inspiring.
Man, this was one of the best videos I’ve seen! Pure TH-cam goodness! Great story and childhood bro, your Dad sounds like a great guy too! Makes me want to turn my 64 on for sure, but not sure if I have the AV cables easily accessible lmao! Great stuff dude!
Loved to see someone your age enjoyed a retro console at such a young age... I got my N64 back when it first release I was 12 years old in 1996! Eitherway, the video was well done, ton of cinematics and it has a 90s feel!
Love this video, Bruno played role of a badass to perfection.🤣. Some great games and wonderful stories. I loved the story where you dad told you that he got you an SNES. However the PlayStation is better than Nintendo 🤣🤣👍.
@@GamesWithTea sorry man. It says “VG MASHUP WHERE ARE YOU” it was a refrence to when i asked you for the soundbyte. I wanted to use it for the retrospective but time was running low

Goldeneye 007 is definitely a Gem on the N64 and did a decent job with a FPS on the N64 even though it had its limitations with the controller!
Nice Retrospective, I love your passion for the N64. Great memories!.
