@@Dopeitsflee Absolutely Rex already knows Woody and can only help set the table and get things situated. We need guys that are passionate and want to be here!!! I don't see Rex saying no to that opportunity.

I think we need to stop worrying about the wide array of interviews We're scheduling and having these interviews very quickly, so I believe the GM search wraps up and the HC second interviews will go swiftly afterwards. So many hands in deck, let's try to trust this process.
It seems like Woody wants to control the HC interview process and not have a GM interfere. I dunno how i feel about this. To me it signals more meddling in the future by Woody with this new staff. But i guess unless Woody sells the team which is highly unlikely, us fans just have to accept the fact that we have a very hands on Owner. Wish it was different, but this is our reality.
Going into this weekend, coaches in the playoffs that were initially hired as "first-timers": K O'C, DeMeco Ryans, Mike Tomlin, Nick Sirianni, Matt LaFleur, John Harbaugh, and the Seans McDermott and McVay. That's more than half, and I'm pretty sure they all made the playoffs during their first year. As did Sean Payton (Saints) and Jim Harbaugh (49ers, although he was a college HC prior). Glenn needs to avoid the mistake Saleh made and surround himself with at least one coordinator who has previous NFL HC experience, instead of newbs like Mike LaFleur and Ulbrich.
Last thing the Jets need is another first-time head coach coming from the defensive side. I'm sure Salah had a strong first interview as well, and see how that turned out?
Its great to hear that always appreciated his work ethic and how he earned his way to be a HC I am in for Glenn compared to anyone on the list since we all know Vrable is not a realistic option
Our advantage is, Glenn can decide on the QB position... with the Saints he has Carr and he gotta like working with him.. plus wd be tough to change QB there, costs, ect...
I really like Glenn as our next hc. But he HAS TO bring in the right OC with him. Can't make the same mistakes of the past & end up with a totally incompetent offense again going under this next regime. Glenn would get this Jets D to ball out again though, for sure. And more importantly... HOLD PLAYERS ACCOUNTABLE!
lets go ahead and start advancing some of these guys mike even if he isnt a fav anymore and glenn start talking bout the plans for staff and defense what they think about the future of the team and everything dont wanna get coach sickness
Well said JC. The more I hear about Glenn the more I like him. I’m not too informed in how good of an actual coach he is. If I’m not mistaken the Lions aren’t known for being one of the NFLs best defense right? How much of it is Ben Johnson/Campbell. I know his players love him. I’d love a student/genius kind of the game for once. I’m tired of motivational speakers as our HCs. Hopefully if he’s our coach he brings an elite staff
Let them talk to everyone because it’s good for everyone. The ones who currently don’t have jobs need one so the Jets are broadcasting that they’re speaking to them. Other teams might call them in. They do need are the coaches on the coaching staff so maybe some of these people might be that.
While I would otherwise prefer they hire an offensive guru in order to draft and develop a strong QB, I’d make an exception for Aaron Glenn - longtime Jet, destroyed the Vikes with a decimated defense, he’s my guy. The important thing is that he and the GM be given the power to tell Woody and his family to butt out.
How do we know that the jets haven’t already scheduled a 2nd interview?. I think Tennessee is the one who’s roster is not as good and ownership might be just as troublesome as woody.
I love Aaron Glenn, he’s a former Jets a leader, a scout and more . But It feels like the Jets are waiting to interview Florez and McCown specifically before doing the second round interviews. Don you get that sense to?
When a good one is available. Ben Johnson and Kingsbury said no. That leaves Liam Cohen, Arthur Smith, Matt Nagy, Jon Gruden. I think Monken may have said no as well otherwise i don't know why he wasn't interviewed. But Smith, Nagy, Gruden, and Cohen. Take your pick. Cohen is probably the best option but no HC experience. The OC candidates this year suck bro. The ones that are accepting Jets interviews anyway. Hard to adjust as you call it when the candidates suck.
Maybe the “Football Guys” are trying to teach Woody how to do it correctly. With this many people to interview, some could be Woody’s choices and others picked by Spielman and the group. Then a compare and contrast 1) HOW to conduct a football interview, and 2) How those guys interviewed. Style vs Substance is a lesson Woody could learn and it could greatly benefit the Jets organization. Just my thoughts.
Flame me all you want but here is another example of how a franchise puts itself constantly on the negative end of a winning percentage. We've heard this all before - they hire some phenom coordinator from another team expecting to automatically turn the team 180. Wasn't Saleh the big sales pitch for this reason? How about other 1st time coaches/phenom coordinators? Bowles, Edwards, Mangini, Coslet? Wash, Rinse, Repeat. Sounds like Johnson is looking to hire another gopher boy. Being a former Jet is not a guarantee of anything.
here's my issue with this....... how can we say Glenn nailed it with the interview...... yet there is NO GM in place???? is Woody & acting GM Phil Savage , Speilman & Tannenbaum the ones now calling the shots??
What interview go bad? These reports are kinda odd but I do believe Aaron Glenn will be the guy. I was hesitant because of the coordinator new coach deal but I'm on board. Please Lord get this right because the pain right now being a fan of this team is overwhelming.
I’m saying it now. Hire Glenn, Draft CB Will Johnson, Jermaine Johnson returns next season, Will McDonald continues to progress, Q Williams dominates, Quincy Williams and Sherwood lock middle field.. Glenn will have a Defense with Duos at position.. Gardner needs to bounce back.. Glenn was a CB.. he can teach him techniques 😊
A lot of jets players especially on the defense are liking tweets about Glenn getting the jobs. I want Glenn to get it. The job he has done on defense with detroit is needed here. The defense fell off. Pair that with a good offensive staff and i'll be happy.
Careful...Glenn may have a lot of connections, but, will they be willing to work with the JET management and owners? Maybe they refuse to work with Glenn...Chris Spielman+ Aaron Glenn, maybe.
People keep saying that culture and accountability are the problems of the Jets. For me what we’ve lacked is people that can coach, scheme and are tactical masters. Saleh, Hackett, Ulbrich the issue was never one of discipline imo, it’s not like we had Pickens or Diontae walking around the field. But they were always outcoached and never knew how to develop a QB. I want a guy that is a genius as much as a cultural leader, I want someone who knows how to outfox the best defences and stifle the best offences based on scheme and putting the right personnel in.
