WHAT IS "THING INSIDE THE BOX"?
Thomann is going to send me a mystery box every month and challenge me with whatever’s inside. It could be an instrument, new equipment or anything else music related.
I’m going to take you along with me and capture my progress each and every day and if there’s anything else exciting happening that week, you’ll get to see that as well.
I will then incorporate the instrument/equipment etc. into one of my videos where I sing and play the guitar, which you'll get to see two weeks after the first challenge video goes up.

My first thought was "Oh wow, to just be _given_ and accordion," then I remembered that not only was _I_ literally given my accordion, my neighbor _paid me_ $5 to move it out of her house and told me I could keep it if I wanted.

My grandfather died a couple of months and my family decided that most of his instruments should come to me because I want to become a musician and one of those instruments is an accordion

I enjoyed watching your video. I love humorous smiles and delightful spirits with your new accordion. If I were a novice or beginner to a new accordion, I would get a simple accordion with 22 keys and four or eight chord keys, making it easier to play and build up my accordion playing skills and keep motivation to continue playing and improve skills. Your accordion has many chord keys that could make it challenging to locate the right notes, especially for beginner levels. Thank you for your video. Cheers! 😅

This is exactly what I want to do during my time off, spend a good few weeks by myself learning the Accordion while annoying my neighbours! If I don't get any good at it, then at least it looks pretty and will be a good party piece 😂 I am torn between the bagpipes (Opens a lot of doors here in Scotland 😂) and Piano or the Accordion! You have a lovely singing voice btw! 😊
I have to say... I am very proud of you!!! The accordion is not an easy instrument, - Piano keyboard, Buttons arranged in the circle of fifths, and you have to express...push, pull the bellows... I would have loved to hear the song after you finished it! I do hope you will continue to learn more and more about this beautiful instrument...Good job
Some accordion come with a little resistance wheel to which you can make the bellows easier or harder to push and pull. I found it’s easier for me to control the bellows with a little more resistance.

I would love to take the old one we have in the attic and play it all over the day (because I absolutely love how accordeon sounds!) but parents will be soo mad that i spend too much time on doing things that are "not important" and do not start to prepare for my last year exams at the middle school. I know how you're feeling because this instrument is sooo cool!

15:59 autumn leaves or Les Feuilles Mortes. one of my favourite songs. its fun when you pick up a new instrument and a tune pops out by itself. I think it is because someone played it before on the instrument leaving an energy imprint which get transfered to you when you play it.

I bought a new piano accordion while I was living and working in West Germany in the 1970s. I still have it, but it is worn out. Several notes don't sound at all and the instrument desperately needs re-tuning. Some years ago, back in England, I thought again of my old accordion and whether I should buy another. But I was astonished to find how much the prices had increased in 30 years. But your video is making me think again! There's no point considering having the old one refurbished. It would cost too much. As I recall, it was Thomann whose website I looked at.

I wonder if you have to return the instruments Thomann sends you for these video's. If not, you're a lucky girl. Just a quick search on Thomann's website shows that the accordion you were given cost's €380,- on it's own.
I don't even want to know what the rest of the instruments cost, like the Moog Theremini. Moog is expensive.

It's like a Melodion! If you keep holding the bass button while pushing/pulling the bellows, you get different notes/chords. 4:24

I PLAY ACCORDEON IT'S VERY HARD. BUT I LOVE IT.
It's tuned like the Piano so it's rather simple
@@RockStarOscarStern634 no no no no no, just because the keys are laid out chromatically on the treble side soes not make it easy to play, you have to play melody in one hand, bass AND chords on the other, while you also manipulate the bellows, not to mention that it is a very heavy instrument to play standing up.

You have a 48 bass accordion wich is great to learn I have at least 20 accordions 48 bass all the way to 120 bass I used to do contracts of four hours at the time I was so tired so heavy good luck in learning one of my favorite instruments. I will send you one of my videos of my accordion music.

Glad you did some Jazz Accordion as a Keyboardist w/ Autumn leaves. I'd imagine you know how to play Keyboards so you probably can play Piano Accordion right away as a Keyboardist. There's also the Keytar (Alesis Vortex Wireless 2) which allows you to get out from behind the Keyboard stand & play standing up like Guitarists, & the Keytar is the cousin of the Electric Accordion. Usually there's a microphone installed so that you can plug into an amp & play.

the accordian is actually strings because it has the piano keys and the piano is stringed
Hate to break it to ya, but accordion has no strings. It is a reed instrument.
An organ has piano keys so it must be a string insturment
Don't press the accordion without playing something or using the air button!! can break the bellows or mess with the tuning over time!!!

Good luck enjoying playing the accordion. The sky is the limit. I have been playing over 30 years and still too much to learn. What is not always appreciated is the fact that the accordion is a 'free reed' and not a 'keyboard' instrument which translates that the primary source of 'musicality' comes from the control of the 'compression of air' in the bellows. Once this is controlled, the hands then interact with the keyboards to release air to pass the reeds. Rather like Dizzy Gillespie on the trumpet with his blown up cheeks. You could live 200 years and still not have enough time.
