Brian Pillman Jr. needs to use the same level of intensity he puts in his promos into the ring.
Is he that bad? He's decent imo. Not every match of a wresler will not be a classic. But he's synonymous for botches.
He's not that bad, his match with Jacob Fatu in MLW was amazing and he also had a great match with MJF in AEW. He just needs to be given a proper chance.
To be fair, he doesn't get much time in the ring. That's one of my big problems with AEW, they'll give a guy some time or a segment and then they'll go missing for weeks. Like this story right here between the Varsity Blondes and the House of Black is a hot story, it should be on TV every week til it's conclusion.

Why turn her in a segment, when you can use the turn to win a match? Julia's character arc is far more interesting this way, anyway. It's not that the black mist has spooky mystical properties, it's that she is being allured psychologically, but can't yet bring herself to turn on the VBs. This can give her an awful lot more character depth than a turn now.

I like the Varsity Blondes but i do think Julia turning on them is the most beneficial thing for all 3 of them, mainly Julia because evolving her character into Julia Blackheart sounds great, IMO.

@@effayeyeayzed I agree, a name change isnt necessary but if they did it i think it would be a nice little touch, and of course, it doesnt have to be "blackheart"...BUT if she does join it would be cool to see her get initiated by having her first tattoo (i think that would be a really cool vignette). For the record, if Julia isnt comfortable getting a tattoo then i dont think its right to force something like that on somebody but a tattoo does fit the part perfectly and would signify that the "good girl cheerleader" is committed to the HoB.

Though it was weird that they're still drawing this out, considering the crowd was super into it - have to give props to Julia for her acting. Looked genuinely scared and conflicted.

This is where they should have been after two months. When was the last time it took someone five months to do a heel turn? And for what benefit?

If you can remember ALLL the way back to when this storyline started, Brian caught some of the spray from Julia.
I could see it being a cool thing, where because he only caught some of it, it awakens his "Loose Cannon" side, but it doesn't turn him fully heel, it just makes him this intense and unpredictable Antihero.
That would be an awful thing to do to him. You gotta let find his own footing.

If Julia Hart doesn't turn at by or right after Double or Nothing then it is a waste of a really good potential storyline. There is slow burn an no burn.
I tried to tell the FB group, you can do long term storytelling all you want, but if your story is straightforward A to B to C you don't need 5 months of Julia Hart looking sad to turn her heel.
For example, Julia Hart doesn't want to turn on the Blonds but every time we see her on Dark and Elevation she's a full on heel who cheats if needs to. So..they're dragging the story out just to drag it out.

Come on, turn her already. She really needs a character development and I'd hate it if this fizzles out and she got "rescued". Turning her into a damsel in distress is just a bad move.
I'm on the 4/13 Episode on Dynamite. I can't believe they still haven't turned her yet lmao.
I think it's time for the Varsity Blondes to break up. Please send Griff Garrison to the Factory. Put him in a tag team with Aaron Solo. Promote big Nick Camarato back into singles matches. He's ready to be the monster heel for Q.T. Marshall. As for Hart and Pillman Jr., I wish them well, but Pillman's magical mullet no longer works. The Varsity Blondes helped get AEW launched, but it's in the best interests of everyone to break the team up for new challenges and opportunities.
I frankly would rather see the sons of the horsemen ride in AEW. Pair Pillman and Brock and let them earn their way up the ranks.

Malakai Black has his half face covered by the shade of evil, while Julia Hart is struggling with just her eye and personality. Death Triangle & Varsity Blondes saw how much she's been acting different.
It’s killing me but I like the slow build of this. One they teased it to see how invested the crowd is in this storyline. Then instead of instantly having her turn, she second guesses herself and the HoB abuse her to establish that they are still heels and shouldn’t be cheered for.
This is good pacing and character building.
Anyone who is saying this was the moment to turn her, and that they dropped the ball here needs to read your comment

It gets bland and lame to have them try to "kidnap" her or whatever. She was clearly becoming one of them on her own over time.
Cheering for heels is open minded and a lot more interesting, sometimes those are the better characters plain and simple
Good pacing my ass. I have had family members with cancer get diagnosed, process and come to peace with it, and die faster than this storyline has progressed in any meaningful way.
When her heel turn finally happens in a few more decades, if the overwhelming thought of fans watching is "about fucking time", that's not good booking or long term storytelling, that's shit

FACTS dude I think the reason tony decided not to pull the trigger on julia joining the house of black was because he wanted to see if people were into this storyline or not.
If they do then they're having a rough one, 'cause on twitter last night this segment got double the replies of anything else on the show and they were overwhelmingly negative.

I have seen/expected Hart's heel turn ever since she got misted. But it's drawn out too long. Last night should have been the final piece of the turn. But nope........ And when last night's promo began, I got the feeling that Pillman was going to turn with her, and attack Garrison....To say that I am doubly (sp) disappointed is an understatement.

I feel like people would be a lot less fatigued with this story if it didn't start back in December then get absolutely iced for like 3 months in the middle. There's a difference between long term booking and drawn out booking. Still having some hope for this angle though, but gotta pull that trigger soon.
It definitely seems dragged out…but I’m all for it. I love AEW’s commitment to long-term booking with this storyline. As long as Julia Hart ends up in the House of Black, I’m willing to let this play out as long as it needs to.

I felt like now was the right time for her to turn to keep the story moving and relevant. The next best time will be at DON to help the House of Black beat Death Triangle. You could have VBs come down and get wiped out too. HOB needs new blood and Julia Hart needs to finish this storyline with a new direction.

Likely Fenix's injury, that hump of pre DoN2019 guys contracts coming up creating a scramble to figure out who's going to stay, and working on building stables around likely long termers or a solid foundation to get it where there's a bit more ability to have easy storylines. Julia's likely to turn at DoN, and the VBs split by All In.
Julia couldn't hide her smile with the pop she got when Matthews guided her to Garrison.
It may bother some people but for a twenty year old girl to have that level of intrigue from fans to give off a pop like that is pretty exciting. Little things like this actually make pro wrestling look real sometimes.

that would be a great pay-off, but it needs to happen sooner rather than later... don't know if there is a booking yet or where there would be a spot in the schedule left for the match up 🤷♂️

If you watch Dark, it works. Every time the VB comes out, she just sits on the steps. When she has a match, she grows more and more vile in the ring. Mostly very subtle details. This run in here moves her from being front and center to srll just being slightly in the background of everyone fighting, which very much feeds in to her feeling lost and alone instead of one with her team. Not to mention, her acting in this angle is great. It may be a slow moving story, but if they just had her go all black in like 2 weeks it wouldn't matter as much. So far I love this angle and I think/hope it will have a nice payoff
You have a fantastic view point my friend this has been a very enjoyable journey and for everyone complaining you gotta remember why we love aew is their story telling ya know just sit back and enjoy we all know the blackheart will be with us soon
Noone should have to watch TH-cam to understand a main roster storyline.
It’s been way more than 2 weeks. Too long with no real story movement.
This has been the least rewarding long term story telling I've seen in AEW so far....

He can’t be the loose cannon and as Jim Ross said on Darkside of the Ring he never should be for his own sake.
Poor Julia looked so traumatized when the HOB approached her. Happy to see that Penta, Fenix and Pac made the save. Maybe Penta can instruct Julia in overcoming the Black Mist to the eyes. Turned Penta in to Penta Oscuro! She needs to embrace Penta's mantle of CERO MIEDO! NO FEAR!

Highlight of the night without doubt.
Astounding that Julia kept this angle going almost exclusively on Dark & Elevation (With input from Malakai i'm guessing?) and sometimes not being on those shows for a month at a time, for 4 months to get to this point.
Whipped the crowd up into a fervor reminiscent of the 2 man power trip versing Lita, Proving how much presence and impact the House of Black AND Julia in this angle have. But disappointed everyone who wanted the "immediate" (after 4 months) turn. Flattened the crowd when she didn't turn lol.
Hopefully they're just milking the fall/turn longer as AEW does and hopefully this isn't the end of all that work without the proper payoff of Julia "Black" Hart 🖤

The way house of black was treating Julia made me horrendously uncomfortable. I was really interested to see Julia join the House but if this is the power dynamic they are going to have then I'm not interested.

Maybe some vignettes to set the mood with pillman. Hes good at promos, he just needs to deliver them a little better maybe just change the pace and tone in his voice, learn to play the crowd because they dont seem to be very into his promos when he speaks.

BPJ needs a controversial gimmick change. Screw this high school BS, he doesn't need to be like his dad, but he could influence his gimmick like young Moxley when he was a Lady Killa.
