- Still not even close to finished the game. Finally found a wicked armor...the Tenakth Marauder, it's the best looking armor in either game (so far) and is geared toward melee, which is perfect for me. Really loving the drill spikes and strikethrough arrows. Also, the warrior bow, which I dismissed as garbage early on, can be quite awesome with melee follow-up and melee detonator! And despite the nerf to strike from above, imagine my surprise when I first did it on a Tremortusk and then realized it was now possible on the big machines in the game (unlike Zero Dawn). Awesome. All clips are on hard.

Gitting gud is learning to wait a sec before dodging the Ravager's/Scorcher's/Shell-walker's AOE
True. Except as you can see in this video, they made the Ravager a cheap bastard who can toss that AOE instantaneously when you power attack in on him. Gotta love the Scorcher though, nothing cheap and every attack can reliably be dodged. Feels awesome to fight it.

Doing well, I see. I'm ~90% done with the game. The best Armor in my opinion is Nora Thunder Warrior, it increases you stamina by around 50%, whilst also increasing stamina regen. Judging by your combat style, you use high stamina consuming abilities, so this Armor is a must have for you.
I bought an armor just to take it's stamina regen +2 weave and put it on the Marauder, along with a +2 resonator blast + weave. I don't think anything will be as good for my style unless there is a legendary equivalent (which there probably is).
@@pinhead9 Hey, Is there a way to stop the Valor Bar from depleting when you don't want to use it any more?? Just to use for a short time and not the whole Valor Bar??
@@GAMEINN-cf8yy No, not that I know of. I would like that too, as well as a way to switch Valor surges from the weapon wheel.
@@pinhead9 Yeah, cause I noticed from time to time it stopped depleting before it ran out. Can't figure out why?? Thought it might have been something I did😕

Never ends well for me.
I love fighting the Scorcher, because every attack can be reliably rolled through. The Ravager on the other hand, can be pretty cheap with its instant area of effect attack.

Yes such great skills. Can't say I'd ever be this good but you have inspired me to experiment with my own game play. Just love the use of all weapons and the spear which I realize now I just have to get better at.

Absolutely. I loved shooting across machines for an instant explosion. I also can't really use the blast slings anymore, since blastpaste is so f'in rare, you can barely carry any of it and sticky bombs use weapon stamina. There is awesome new stuff in Forbidden West - shredders, strikethrough ammo, drill spikes and the melee stuff, but I do miss the streamlined combat of Zero Dawn.
I'm sad I feel like strike from above is so much harder to do in the new game. You only had to get to an elevated place to do it before but now it feels like if the shieldwing isn't opened or if you aren't really elevated you can't do it.
But other than that and the tripcaster thing you mentioned I like everything more in FW. Absuolutely love the melee combat.
@@shydreameress264 Agreed. I think it's because of all the new ways they give you to gain height (pullcaster, flying mount), that they had to weaken the strike from above. I'm ok with it now and it is nice that you can do it on all the big machines, unlike Zero Dawn.

I have a dout I finished up all the outposts and figured out 1 more was left which was the deadfalls one where u fight it in the early game I finished it in the early but Still That outpost location is not showing it is finished up it shows an eye symbol I don't know what to do
And when I go to that place nothing's their to do

I really underutilized the combat lol. I forget about so many weaves, outfits, and abilities. Drill spikes spoiled me. Had no idea about the weak points on top of some of the big machines

I go for style, not quickness, so the Arena is a nightmare for me too!

man, I wish I was this good at the game! Granted, I've only played for a few hours, so I haven't done very much yet. Still, do you have any times for combat in this game? It doesn't have to be beginner-friendly, any and all tips are appreciated.
It's a lot of practice. No way I was as good even 100 hours into playing the game as I am now. And the more you engage in combat, the more you learn each machine's timing, which is the biggest key of all. Most of their attacks can be rolled through or slid through with the right timing. Use your surroundings and the grapple points to mix things up. Figure out what kind of player you want to be. I love just going at them, so I pair a melee focused outfit with the warrior bow with melee follow-up coils on it and it's deadly. Apart from that, read the machine catalogue. Some canisters on these machines are hidden until you break a certain part and then they reveal themselves (Tremortusk, Slitherfang, Widemaw, to name a few).

My biggest advice is get a hunter bow for every element, and abuse canisters. I'm talking absolutely abuse them. For instance the the thunderjaw has eight frost canisters on its belly in-between its legs. You either need to land a tear blast arrow or a couple arrows that have good tear to open the compartment. From there hit a canister with any frost arrows(has to be arrows) to trigger an explosion and instant frost, which make the machine take double damage from regular arrows and negates armor plating temporarily. If you are having trouble getting the compartment, use the shock canisters at the base if it's tail.
Almost all machines have canisters or a sac that you can blow up to deal additional damage and instantly proc a status effect on them. The best canisters to aim for are frost, shock and purgewater, in that order. Purgewater negates the resistances of enemy machines, resulting in it being weaker to frost and shock, triggering purgewater and then lighting up the machine with frost is a great way to make the machine brittle.
The only other advice I can give without bring specific with machines is to always scan them to highlight parts. Even if it is a quick open your focus, scan, and dodge, it highlights all the components making them easier to hit. If you get prep time, search through components for canisters, sacs, and whatever has "key upgrade resource" tacked onto it. Tag these so they are easier to aim at. Make sure to pay attention to whether this resource has "destroyed upon death" or "intact on death". If it has destroyed on death, by all means tag it and shoot it off, but if it is destroyable avoid shooting it cause if you do you will not get the resource when you kill it.

Kill big macchine was easier in zero dawn for me, but a lot of weapon/ability in forbidden west are overpowered. Maybe i will change opinion in the future but for now i prefer zero down for combat sistem
