      @@s33therfan I see that you have a lot of instructive videos for this car. Maybe it's a good idea to group them together in a playlist. It would be helpful for new learners like myself.

    Thanks for showing us how to do this. I did the dog bone and transmission mount... the transmission mount was hard as hell...

    Thanks for posting this video. It was very helpful. I just replaced mine and purchased the same one from the link you posted on one of the comments below. I hope it would last a while.

    Was there a shim under nut where abs lines are, i got a motor mount out and shim just fell off it so i dont know where it was, was it under 15 mm nut that holds motor mount or under the mount on the stud and then just nut goes on stud by itself.

    Did you purchase the new mount from Mazda dealer or did you get mount some other place? Just curious because dealer price is $163 compared to half that from auto parts store. That being said, I'm wondering if there is fluid inside the cheaper price mount. Any thoughts?

    • @s33therfan
      @s33therfan  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question. I believe these after markets , atleast mine had no hydraulic fluid. However I seen a 100 % improvement after replacing the old one . The old one completely failed with no fluid left. The aftermarket stopped the vibration and ton of noise. As far as the oem it is an easy decision for me considering aftermarkets are around $40 online. The oem may be better and I know they are expensive , even if ordered . Best of luck on whatever you decide . Thanks for watching.

    How did the mount hold up? I bought a(several) non OEM hydraulic mount and it(they)was horrible. TOns of Vibrations. Went OEM and all issues taken care of. - Do you know what brand mount you bought or where you bought from? Was it OEM? - Side note I know for certain non OEM dogbones are horrible and rip within minutes of first drive.

      This is the one I used , it's been on there little over 3 months so the jury is still out . I will say it is 100 percent better than the one that was on there though. This mount was only 20 dollars . So far as vibrations go it has done really well I haven't noticed anything to speak of , and it claims to be an actual hydraulic mount . I will say I've had in the past on other model cars vibration issues but so far with the Mazdas I've had good luck . Thanks for the feedback and checking out the video .

    I think the this new mount does not have any fluid in it. Replacement version, only tire. It's harder, it transmits some vibrations. Right?

      Here's the part I used. Now they claim it's the hydraulic , like the others I viewed , however I can't say for sure . I know a way to check is by listening to the fluid sloshing around in there , I did that on my Mazda 3 and could hear it . But with this one I never thought about it , so you may be right . I will say compared to the one that was on there the car, its now driving and sounding smoother than a Cadillac so I can't complain . Replacing this mount made a huge difference, 90 percent of the noise and vibration stopped . Thanks for the feedback and for watching

      @@s33therfan thanks for answer, because a need to change them, but OEM are expensive, over 400 euros vs cheap aftermarket which are under 100. OEM can survive up to 10 years, if these hold up for 3 years i'm good to go.

    I have a 2008 Mazda 6 I and I have to replace my motor mount. Firststone wants 700 to do it and I have a warranty and they sound like they not trying to pay it or own up to there contract because it’s a covered part. I TH-cam it and it looks so easy the way you doing it. I’m a woman I could probably do it but I’m afraid and I don’t have the jack and don’t know nothing about supporting the engine. I think I could do it based off how you explained it

    • @s33therfan
      @s33therfan  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You could definitely fix it cheaper yourself even buying some tools. You will for sure want a good quality jack and need some blocks or jack stands for safety . Usually getting under the oil pan with a jack and block of wood helps support it well and use a jack stand or blocks for back up. Before you remove any bolts get it positioned and some tension. You will need to lift the engine slightly. Sometimes the engine can move out of alignment some but even on a jack can be moved and positioned. Take your time and plan each and every step. This mount is actually the easiest on this vehicle and 700 is excessive . Get some good gloves also for protection. If you could enlist the help from anothet person it may also make things go more quickly. Best of luck on what you decide . Even if you decide to hire it out i would suggest price checking several other shops . Thank you for watching

      s33therfan I just let the guy fix the one that was really bad which was the passenger side. The 721.12 was for the passenger side and driver side motor mounts. What’s so odd is when I went into the work area I said wow this looks just like the way the guy on TH-cam said to do it. He did everything you did. Sir I kid you not I could’ve done it if I had some jacks and tools. I also work for Autozone 🤦🏽‍♀️ I know I could’ve done it but got scared. I only paid 256.23 for the left side to get done. I dont feel the jolt or the thump anymore when I make a complete like I did before. Excellent video and you absolutely know what you are doing when it comes to your work. Oh and I have the same exact car 2008 Mazda 6i same exact car only have 81,110 miles on her.

      Yes . I will say that all the mounts are important but the passenger seems to make up the majority of the vibrations . Seems like after replacing mine 90 percent of the noise and pops went away .
      Heres a video I made of the transmission mount replacement. Its more solid one of the mounts I think and probably fails less.
      Watch "How to replace a Mazda 6 transmission mount" on TH-cam

      The part the the big bolt goes into had colapsed upon inspection. Also the vibration was horrible . This passenger mount usually accounts for the majority of vibrations . Thanks for watching.
