Lock still plays the same. The way Branded Expulsion works is tribute fusion monster, then target 2 monsters to summon from gy OR banish. If they were to bystial chain (i.e. you have a monster still and did not combo as in the tutorial), the expulsion fizzles because the targeted monster moved. If they bystial BEFORE expulsion, expulsion still resolves normally because it summons from banish.
This is a very valid concern. I wont know for certain until this format is released on DB rated and I can test. I do think Crossout designator will be strong again sided in branded, to hit ash/book/mirror match. I also think there are alternatives to Ra that accomplish a similar thing but don't lose to book (ex- gimmick puppet knightmare). And Ra/ido lock beats most going 2nd cards that traditionally are strong against branded (evenly, LS, super poly, etc.). The question is: what % of games will Ra/ido/etc. lock win you that the normal combo wouldn't? Idk the answer yet. What are your thoughts ?
@@thymethief I'm not really sure I'm also waiting to test out on DB Crossout might be a good option yes, but idk if I'll be able to fit them even in the side considering the numbers of matchups you have to prepare for For now I don't side ra's disciple anymore in my postban list but I'll test when format release on DB :)
tbh I side Expulsion in on a case-by-case basis; I don't try to force it. If it suits the matchup based off of intel from game 1, I go for it... or if I'm concerned about Evenly. if you DO go the crossout route, I might suggest then also siding in a Dimensional Barrier. But at that point, I'd get the urge to side two d-barriers; then 3 trap tricks; then 2 DDV and 2 EEV... before you know it, I've got a whole 2nd side deck on my hands. Suffering from abundance haha!
If your opponent uses magnamut on your albaz, during their end phase, they'll search another bystial. Then on their turn, they'll just bystial your ra after you activate the trap. Drop the Ra lock altogether for next format I'd say.
If your talking about the opponent banishing the albaz at 1:45 , you would just make Dragostapelia using albion + kitt. Then end phase, albion effect set expulsion and on the opponets turn expulsion -> tribute dragostapelia and you have no monsters so they can't Bystial you. Unless im missing something
Great video! Just wondering what happens if they bystial Ra's Disciple?

@@Styrofoam505 I see! I overlooked it could summon from banish thank you
What do you think about the lock now that Kash is meta and people are playing book of eclipse which is an out to ra's ?

Ra's Disciple is a game 2 play tbh. You side it in when you know they won't have an out for it.
@@hahathatsgreat2 how do you know if they're playing book of eclipse of not ?
+ it is in almost everyone's deck rn
