The 718 boxster spyder was in the middle of the pack and looked great

There was no way they'd put in a better/more desirable engine, no matter how detuned, from a GT division into a lower rung car before a 911. That and these new 718 bodies have had massive changes to hold all the extra systems for intercoolers and charge air that the turbo's need. It's not a simple swap unlike swapping a 3.4 for a 3.8 which is just changing cylinder liners.....

Yeah, it's disappointing, but it's the new reality :( I just hope Porsche learns to tune their Flat4's better so they actually sound decent.

I hope they will go hybrid. Say a 2.7 flat 6 and a small kers system. Should give the power increase, sound and emissions all in one.

Agreed, no chance, the 981 GT4, only received the left over Carrera
S motors.....

And 981 Spyder. They were parts bin specials. 911S engine and brakes, Turbo S steering rack....
