    This same job on a 2004 CRV (along with water pump and power steering pump replacements) has taken me two straight nights. There is no room to work, and the entire front of the car has to come off. The metal pipe into the housing is the same setup, and I've been stumped for a while trying to remove it. Thanks for the view I needed!

    hey, nice video. Could you possibly tell me the part # or give me a link for one of the O Rings that I'm going to need for the Metal Pipe at 2:40 in your video? 👍

    Wow great video. I just changed the radiator hoses and thermostat on my wife’s 99 Accord EXL with 60000 miles just for the heck of it. They were original hoses but I changed just because of age. The thermostat housing is metal though. Never saw plastic before. The hoses were original but in excellent condition. Anyway great video. Artie 👍👍👍

    It seems like an oldie but it’s a goodie. My 08 si is leaking coolant from the thermostat housing. I might be able to get away with just replacing the gaskets but I’m thinking of just replacing the whole thing. Any suggestions?

    I had to replace my vtec solenoid and had to pull the housing from the side. Now i have the problem of trying to get the housing onto the pipe because the o ring on the neck won't stay in place. Also my thermostat housing only has 2 12mm bolts not 3. Any suggestions?

    I’m on my second time repairing this housing on base RSX - what would be the reason for this ? Like the cause of death to the housing would be what? It’ll last a month I’m thinking before it cracks again smh

    I don't understand why so many car manufacturers decided to put the whole thermostat assembly so close to the fan belt and alternator. Any leak that springs out of that assembly will drench the fan belt and get into the alternator, causing more havoc that will need to be repaired. Grrrr!

    • @CarsNToys
      @CarsNToys  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a very good point. Hopefully it doesn't leak! **fingers crossed**

      Hey but my Titan has it at the lowest point possible so if I ever have to cross deep water my alternator is now water-cooled.

      Nothing will happen if coolant leaks onto an alternator.

    Damn that's a crappy spot for honda to put a thermostat. You gotta pull back the intake manifold. cant remember what it is. But did you pull that back for easier access

    • @CarsNToys
      @CarsNToys  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The housing is in a tough spot. But if you were to replace the thermostat only, it isn't too bad. Just remove the lower radiator hose clip and it's right there.

      @Victor Y. I must be lucky, ive been wrenching as honda for a little over 20 years, they have worked great for me. They are getting harder to compress as hondas have gotten more cramped under the hood though. I find myself wanting to change them out with the screw type.
