This man has made his whole career off this song and my God he still kills it decades later. What a treasure. So glad he still loves doing it after all this time.
Dude really? Its fucking Ken Page. This guy was a legend long before he even did Oogie. He was the original Old Deutoronomy from Cats. He has sung jazz, opera and performed in musicals since he could walk. Id deck you for that blasphemy if i could reach through this damn screen.
@@shrubby-ov4yw Truly, the level of lazy ignorant pronouncements when we're... on the internet. Why not just look him up before saying something so uninformed?
That was amazing....one of my all time favourite Christmas movies since the day it came out. A must with amazingly memorable songs. Danny Elfman is also pure genius, the parts in the movie were made for these guys.
He left out the cut line which was “Now if I’m feeling antsy, and I haven’t much to do, I just might make a special batch of snake and spider stew. And you know what could go with it that would make it real nice? A roly poly Sandy Claws to add a little spice.”
Kingdom hearts was the reason i watch the film. While i knew the movie before, playing the nightmare before Christmas levels made love me the world and the characters and i decided to watch the masterpiece I never regret.
Wow, this is wonderful! I love the film, actually love most of Elfman/Burton collaborations. Personally I'd love to have this type of singing voice but I sound like a wimpy college student. Thanks for uploading this video!
Watching this Artist perform changed my whole opinion of Oogy Boogy. I used to be terrified of the character. Now, I can't stop smiling. I love seeing him perform. Seeing the reality behind the bug character.... Stopped my nightmares....
This dude is so good. I wish his Spotify page had more stuff on it- with the career that he's had, there have gotta be more recordings of his performances out there than what's available on there currently.
Fun fact: despite popular belief, Tim Burton DID NOT direct NBC, it was Henry Selic (def misspelled that lol) Creator of James and the giant peach and cult classic movie Coraline :) Although Tim Burton did write the poem Nightmare before Christmas is based on
Fun fact for those who don’t know he still voiced Oogie in kingdom hearts and oogie’s revenge
You can’t get anyone to replace him he is irreplaceable
Hes also the original old deuteronomy from cats
@@cyberdragonessmaster Technically, Brian Blessed is the original Old Deuteronomy
I love the fact nightmare before christmas is in Kingdom hearts
How can this man still have the exact same voice that’s talent and sorcerery put together
Локи?
@@НиязШакиров-з7в translation: Loki?
You see how he puts his heart into the role, what a joy to watch! All these years later and he still sounds amazing
Love his little “bops” at the beginning. Really jolly
Edit: How am I top comment, this was uploaded over a year ago
The more I watch him, the more I realize the animators really made Oogie Boogie look like Ken Page. What a wonderful voice and character.
What an amazing original voice
A special thanks to Greg Proops for providing Santa's vocals.
Was not expecting to hear his voice.
Is he... is he dressed like Stan Pines??
Man he still got that raspy deep voice. My childhood nightmare was this man’s voice and now that I’m grown, I love it.
What an incredible voice actor and singer Ken Page is ❤
Hearing the performance is one thing, but seeing it is another. You can see just how much he enjoys his part
My top 3 villains Oogie Boogie, Shar Kahn and Scar… thanks for the great childhood memories.
He made this song one of the highlights of the whole movie.
the best quote of that song is “i’m a gamblin boogie man, although i don’t play fair”

I just love his voice! My favorite villain.♥️
i was there, at this live preformance. best night of my life.
When was this done?
Just wow, this is so much fun to watch. Ken Page nails every single loveable aspect of Oogie Boogie's personality.
Ken Page also played Old Deuteronomy in CATS... The longest running play in both London 21 yrs & Broadway 18yrs....🐛🐱🧡💜
longest is actually phantom of the opera!
@@chloesnow3796 as far as just Broadway yes.... I mentioned both London and Broadway. But either way Ken is a master!♥️♥️♥️

Hard to believe that's the Big Lipped Alligator from ADGOH. But like Elaine Paige, I can't help but see cat ears on his head every time I look at him.
I know right. The original and best Old Deutoronomy.
Same. He will always be Old Deuteronomy to me.
