Buy a SVR on autotrader, smaller puller and remap maybe downpipe and you get even faster car for less... and still good looking
The mark of the beast is 3. 6's I hate cars I'd rather own a truck but showcasing a car with that particular number is wrong the manufacturer should've known better tuned it for 670 that is reasonable I will never buy that peice of shit car! Unreliable always breaks parts are expensive. You want a beast of a car wait until the zo6 C8 Corvette comes out

I want one... you are correct Rory. I bought the XKR-S GT a while back... fast as a Huracan? It will give it a run but probably not. Pain in the ass to take anywhere due to the clearance? Absolutely. But Special? Yes. That’s what its all about, Isn’t it... as one of 25, I will always be the only one in any car show. In a town like Nashville where you don’t really stand out in a Huracan... $175k US gets a lot of exclusive car... buying it used for $115K ... I call that a win.
I’ll wait a couple years and find this 666HP monster on Auto Trader and buy it then. (Btw... I decided to buy the GT after your review several years ago where you drove it into the grass...Sold!) lol. Awesome video Brother!

Through smaller upper and larger lower pulleys, a tune, an aftermarket heat exchanger and water pump, and an x-pipe midpipe, my 5.0L XKR is making about what this thing does. Hilariously, it's no faster to 60 now than it was stock due to traction issues below, eh... about 70 MPH... I can't imagine what AWD would do because once it does have traction, it is a monster.

Personaly I think the yellow mackes it look cheap
The pre-facelift looked much better. Aggressive and elegant. The narrow radiator grill, far away from the headlights, a design flaw. The sound design of the exhaust system was perfect on 2015 models.

How ironic this poppep up in my recommendations. My friend bought an f type this weekend. Even the basic v6 model is a well crafted beutiful machine . Not jealous though. My 57 plate focus 1.8 tdci is also a real head turner 🤣🤣🤣

Agreed. I drove the Project 8 on the track at Palm Beach INternational recently, and it was an awesome fast car. However, $187K !!! There is no reason at all that Jaguar could not put the 5.0l s/c engine from the F type in the XE and sell it to compete with M4, M5. CTS etc. At around $100K. Well I guess that there is a reason, Management with no enthusiasm and balls.
I think that they are scared of getting shamed by Greta.
@@rdvideoclips the project 8 is only very loosely based on the XE. It costs so much because we had to recoup the development costs by only selling a couple hundred cars.
@@TheJPHarvey Yes, it is fine tuned to do a 7.21 at Nurburgring, and is an excellent track car. So much grip I was able to power out of the corners and not worry. I also underestimated the grip entering corners, and forced understeer where I could have trusted the car LOL.
But I still would have thought that it wouldn't be impossible to economically offer the F type power train in the XE. It wouldn't be a Project 8 but would give the AMG C63S, M4, M3, M5, Audi RS and CTSVs a run for their money, and benefit from the Jaguar heritage, which they are squandering away. And I bet that Jaguar would sell more than 300. With the maximum engine size in the XE being a 4 cylinder I think that Jaguar have lost their way and are not fully developing their brand. I am looking for a replacement for my F type V8S convertible, but there is nothing out there to come close. A new F type R, maybe.. But I would really like a little more room as it is a very snug cabin for two. Hence I am forced to look at BMW, AMG, Audi, Hellcat, ZL1, Shelby GT500. Where is the XE SVR???
Their brand should be on excitement machines, like BMWs Ultimate Driving Machine. I have looked at the XE, XF, E Pace F pace etc etc in the showrooms and they leave me cold. If Jaguar are trying to complete at a higher price with the Kias and Hyundais, Genesis, etc....they have lost already..dead man walking. They need more Halo cars imho.
And as far as electric...great. I love the technology. But it's crowded field. There are still lots of ICE drivers, at least here in the US. Maybe Jaguar Management have been attending too many "How Dare You " Greta speeches?

I was looking for an AWD sport sedan (I live a northern country) option to replace my 997 and was waiting for Jaguar to offer an XE with the engine from the F type with their AWD system. The competitors are all rwd and the RS4 steering left me unimpressed.
It baffles me that they did not choose to go for a production car that offers the convenience of AWD and the driving feel so distinctive of Jaguar.
I love the facelift version of the XE and it is such a shame that it is only offered with such engines. I understand the cost savings of focusing on fewer engines and the new regulatory limitations but at least on version should use the stronger engine from the F type with the knowledge learn from the Project 8.

Err did they forget about the SVR and Project 7? They only mentioned the R but the SVR would be the closest to this. The video says the R does 0-60 in about 4 seconds and this Lister does it in 3.2, well the SVR does it in 3.5 seconds. Again they say the R has a top speed of 186 mph and this Lister has top speed of 205mph, well the SVR has top speed of 200mph. The R has 550 hp and this lister has 666 hp, well the SVR has 567 hp. But funnily enough, I think they used the SVR convertible price, Jaguar website says the SVR convertible starts at £118k and the R convertible starts at £102k, not sure where they got the £130k starting price at 3:00 from but its closer to the SVR convertible.
Curious if they beefed up the internals of the engine or not.
JLR should bring Lister Motor Company and JLR Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) under one roof (if possible) to make these amazing monster vehicles. Lister would be an amazing addition to JLR, similar to what Mercedes did with AMG.

Buy one, get an exhaust, tune, cats, pulley, and you'll be just as fast without forking over extra money

Weston Charm Pointless, the new Vantage has got the engine out the AMG GTC, isint as quick an costs 10k more.
Say £140000 and AMG or Porsche in the same sentence and no one bats an eyelid. This car is special. So deserves a special price.
i'm starting to like super sport crossovers.. especially after seeing that carbon fiber front lip 1.5" off the ground... i would be stressed driving anywhere lol

It's really not that low. You just have to learn where you can go up and where not. I've had many lower cars than this without any problems. Also anyone who buys this surely has plenty other more usable cars.

Is it worth £140k? Based upon Rory's review YES. You're getting something that has been tweaked and improved over stock. This isn't a Kahn downgrade but a Lister upgrade. There's substance to their work.
