A sketch from The Carol Burnett Show, Season 1, Episode 2, originally aired 18 September 1967. Featuring Harvey Korman as Captain Quirk, Sid Caesar as Mister Spook, and Carol Burnett as Virginia Robot.
Given the original air date, this must be one of the earliest Star Trek parodies ever aired on broadcast television. Apologies for the glitch in the video (between about 3:12 & 3:28) due to a satellite reception issue mid-broadcast. I believe it is better to have this as is rather than not at all. While it detracts from the experience, it isn't so bad as to make the video otherwise unwatchable.

50+ years ago Japan was still viewed as a source of cheap junk electronics. Times have changed.
Think of the scene from Back to the Future Part III when 1955 Doc Brown is inspecting the broken time circuits and says something to the effect of "No wonder this circuit failed, it says made in Japan." Marty's reply being "All the best stuff is made in Japan." :)

I don't think so, but could be. I mean, this is very early in the history of Star Trek, it was only the beginning of the second season when this first aired. I think it was a more innocent reference to like vs love.
