6:32 Content below the fold resulting in disrupting user experience is a farce! Many sites that have content above the fold still got hit. It's all about the user finding the information they're looking for and they don't mind scrolling down the page. Some people want quick answers, others want extensive and detailed information on the topic. Also, making images smaller isn't necessarily going to help make the page faster. It's all the ads running on the page that slow the site down. If you want a fast page, you have to eliminate ads otherwise it's going to disrupt user experience. But the problem then is that you eliminate a major revenue source for your site. Ads are a big disrupter for mobile users especially.
Thanks for sharing Mr Gotch 👍 the bad news is, some sneaky individuals are using sophisticated engagement farms to continuously fake positive engagement on their sites. And at the same time faking negative using engagement on their competitors sites. It’s war out there! 😆
WebP is rarely the fastest loading image type, avif is. Avif is just a lot newer, and less support so having a CDN that supports AVIF and WebP and loads the one the browser supports is the best method.
Thank u so much for these valuable insights! When I match the rendered size of the image with its intrinsic size I find that the image comes out blurry because it was reduced in size. Is there a way to circumvent this?
Great video Nathan once again. I kinda have a feeling that ctr of serps is the/a way google understands the user intent. Now about the image size you mentioned. The dimensions you proposed come against the dimensions for google discover, correct?
I agree! The dimensions should be unique to your website. As far as Google Discover, I'm not sure because I've had articles land with the image size I use
Thanks for such a useful advice. I've got a question regarding image size, how do you make it optimized for Discover if you resize them to 700px.. I was doing that in the past, but now started uploading 1200x675 to match and potentially be featured in Discover.
To be honest, I don't optimize specifically for Google Discover. So maybe image size influences your reach, but I've had content get into discovery with the image size I use. This is just the image size I personally use for my unique situation.
According to the documents "clicks, scrolls and mouse hovers" refers to actions taking place while still on the SERP (not engaging with someones page). Seems a bit unrelated to the theory about Google using Chrome user data for Google Search, Im guessing you do not agree? @@nathangotch
I'm curious why you deleted the tweet where you said there's no company that hates its customers more than Ahrefs, and now you're using Ahrefs again in your video? Have you been threatened with a lawsuit?
Hey Nathan , you're making great videos ! I was wondering if I could help you enhance editing in your videos and also make a highly engaging Thumbnail which would help your video to reach a wider audience . Pls let me know what you think ?
Ads account for less than 1% of my revenue, so no. But I do use open loops to encourage people to watch the entire video. So does every TV show, book, or movie you've ever consumed.
@@nathangotch Yeah I know. I loved the video btw. Nothing wrong with using tried and tested tactics for clicks. if the content is good and insightful then that's all that matters. Thumbs up!
Hi Nathan, brilliant video. My website is under manual action due to some misleading content. Even after 6 months and replying multiple times to Google it’s removing some of the manual actions. Can you guide me or make video. Thanks
I think google crawlers are too smart enough that they recognise which site has authority in it's niche. Also the topical authoriy should be the top of the ranking factor. Producing more and quality content that links to each other is necessary.
There's no way for a new site to make it organically any more. One day they can turn the switch and poof sites gone. Or never rank at all in the first place. And nobody ever recovered the March update.

That's correct, but you can gain a lot by reading between the lines.
The moment he said theres a correlation between being subscribed to his channel and google rankings. I disliked, left this and dipping.
