    She turned out beautifully. I love old 26 inch bicycles with newer compartments on them are the bee’s knees. Keep up the great work and stay safe out there hopefully you have a great century ride.

    This bike is sick. Thanks for sharing. I've been looking to start a project for a while and having trouble picking out a frame. I like 90's MTB. Had a rockhopper, a Kinder Cone and a Trek 970 on my lists. Anything you recommend that might be on the lighter side? I have to carry the bike up some stairs and my back would be grateful for something that's not 15kg. Cheers

    Watching this series again as its brilliant. “Using an old stem…. Or one in hate” has to be a personal favourite😆😆

    You can make a bottom bracket shell chaser with an old bb. Use a file or dye grinder to cut the perpendicular lines across the threads like a tap has and you have a bb thread chaser!

      There's a video from RJ the Bike Guy on making a chaser for a bottle cage hole but works the same on anything threaded! Hope to see you make use of this method in the future!

    I wouldnt grease the self extractors thread, just the back part that part that pulls the cranks when extracting. I would use a tiny amount of threadlock on the self extractors threads instead. I had those cranks and were poorly made, hope yours last longer. Nice build BTW 🤙

    Looking very nice. Great video as always.
    Similar swept handlebar with a bit of a rise is the On One Mikey.
    Narrower tyres with puncture protection such as Schwalbe Marathon Plus or just lightweight slicks but for peace of mind, slime in the tube or both.
    For very long rides you'll need ergonomic grips and an alternative hand position with inner bars.
    Top tube or a handlebar bag for topping up on fuel.
    Consider cleats or toe clips to be more planted.
    Btw Stridsland do a similar style fork.

    Stunning build, Craig Absolutely love the colour scheme!! I can completely relate to the sticky BB shell issue though, as I had exactly the same thing with a flat bar hybrid to drop bar gravel I recently built. I also couldn't justify the £300-£600 cost of a tapping tool, so likewise took it to the LBS who had it sorted in 2 minutes. It literally took me longer to drive there than it did for them to do it! 😂
    I'm just about to start a 90s MTB to modern gravel conversion too. I love the black frame with turquoise decals, but the paint is a bit lacklustre, so I'm definitely going to give T-Cutting a go, to try and bring it back bit.Good tip. 👌
    Good luck with RideLondon too. I did it last year and loved it. Was hard work, but you'll be beaming when you cross the Tower Bridge finish line! Ride on!

    Lovely bike, will be looking at that fork when its back in stock 😃 I have the same chain-splitter and it works great, but be carefull with the little taps as the tool is cast, one broke on mine but it is still useable 😅 Thanks for sharing 👍😊

    What an absolute gorgeous build. Love love love the color scheme- especially the frame. Wow!
    Also, As much as I love road bikes, I enjoy mountain bikes soo much more. Not worried about potholes etc. I know there are gravel bikes, but they’re just soo so expensive.

    Best of luck with your century! I've done a grand total of 1, and have been looking for a chance to do another. Today I did a metric century, something I've done countless times, and I'm wiped out. So sending power vibes your way.

    If you cut some notches in threads of an old bb, it works pretty good to chase threads when you are in a pinch.

  • @draggonhedd
    @draggonhedd ปีที่แล้ว

    What a great purple bike, it looks super good. I think it might have been worthwhile to go without that front hanger setup, if you had used the rocker/power booster from the rear brakes, Which would make more sense on the front anyway. just used a seatpost hanger for a standard setup in the rear. Mind you, this isnt really a serious criticism or anything, just a thought

    £100+ for the right tool to use once or twice a year or in my case strap the frame to my rucksack and cycle to the lbs and spent 5 mins and £10 for them to do both sides

    Great video, as alway. Love the bike too! I noticed you wired your right brake to the front caliper and left to the rear. Just curious if there was a reason for this? You often see it the opposite 🤷‍♂️

    • @cemmy410
      @cemmy410 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That's the standard brake arrangement in the UK

  • @Naomi_Boyd
    @Naomi_Boyd ปีที่แล้ว

    You should never use degreaser on a chain. When you lubricate a chain, all you are really lubricating are the bushings. It's near impossible to properly lubricate between the roller and the rivet, so if you dissolve the factory lubricant with degreaser, you are going to reduce the lifetime of the chain. If you want to clean your chain, just damp a cloth with alcohol and clean the exposed metal so as not to drown the rollers in solvent.

    Seems like leaning forward with this set up is going to kill your back. Bmx bars would be better on the long ride. Upright riding rules.
