I feel like most skills should taper off at the end as in a log scale or s-curve. Higher skill providing diminishing returns so that max skills only matter as you get more and more competitive. Might make some skills more viable at lower levels but still have to grind them out to the top to be the best of the best
Okay I heard that the blocking and parry bleed through damage also depends on the strength difference between the attacker and defender. You should do a video testing this with non mage characters as well. I also wonder how blocking factors into equipment hits when someone is wearing a shield...
I wonder what other skills are useless at 50 and below points. Defensive Stance? Vitalism? Mounted Magery? Kinda makes a lot of those extra stats on trinkets not worth anything unless you're using it to max out your skill.
Mages need 100 blocking if they whant to live more that 5 sec vs melee who can chase. def stanse and agreasive is like +1 tier for u armor and weapon and its realy good stuck with amulet and rings stats. blocking is for stamina usage if u a dex mage u cant just run from a dude hi still can hit u. u need to whait for a perfect moment to escape
What a broken skill that doesn't work. I'm shocked. Trying to figure out what actually works and doesn't work as stated by the developers is what killed the game for me. I don't mine a hard core game but its unreasonable to expect your players to test your game and skills and communicate within themselves what you have failed to code properly in the game.
They should re-evaluate many of the skills added, they're based on an old progression system from an old iteration of the game that had its system based off of ANOTHER old game. The design is great overall, but they can really do better. I'd suggest making blocking tie into the weapon mastery itself. 100 Swords give you max damage and blocking, and blocking can be re-designed or changed into a new skill, for example.
Not how it works. You have a 2 sec window to parry, outside of that it becomes a block. You'll take chip dmg thru blocks, but youll also take some chip dmg through parries depending on your block skill and also bludg dmg type chips more. If you don't want to get chipped, then invest 100 pts into blocking. Learn the game b4 u trash.
@@DarkTideOffroad bro takes his larp game serious,i can tell by how passionate you were with that paragraph just to end it with "your trash" Your a cornball ,a mage can parry/block with 100 blocking an still take significant dmg thru it, look at yourself
@tropicus2915 if you dont have defensive stance, you'll still take chip damage through a parry. Blunt weapons with high blunt damage wil still do about 2-5 damage through a parry on a full footie. Mages typically dont have enough points for defensive stance which reduces 8 damage in total. So thats why a mage with full blocking will still take quite a bit of chip damage

ty for making this video. i was asking myself "do i need 100" blocking.
depends on what you wanna do xD and who you fight against xD
would be interessting how much dmg it is with 100 blocking, so actually we just now the stats with 0 skill and 40 skill but not with 100 :)

Err... Did you reverse the footage at the end? It starts snowing backward lol. Also tho... The block/parry thing... What in tf?
Perhaps the amount blocked is RNG up to a maximum % of your blocking skill?
Wait, i havent played in a while, are you telling me that you cant parry someone wtih a really heavy weapon anymore with a dagger???
you can if you have blocking skill maxed
i was told 50 is the minimum for it to start working....
And that is strange. I mean its clearly working but its not really effective
PARTY HARD!
very few skills in this game are useful under 100

Kinda true. They could really work on giving the player more info ingame. That would help alot with proper skill descriptions.

I thought the bleed damage through block/parry also has several other factors, not just blocking skill. Chest armor, shield, and character strength?

Its not broken you just fail to understand it.
The block and parry system is bad right now. Very ping dependent and not very accurate.
Wrong. You need to get good, not make excuses.

there blocking system is goofy as hell , kinda dogwater nomatter what youll still take dmg thru hits if you block if your a mage
