- Hey guys! When I was trying to design my first ever walk-in closet I had a hard time finding resources and actual measurements for different elements in a closet. I made this video to help people in the same situation trying to figure out how to plan and build a walk-in closet!
In this video I provide a comprehensive overview of my walk-in closet, including dimensions of the room and measurements for all of my shelving and closet rods. I also discuss how I planned the space, functionality, my review of IKEA PAX, and other tips.

I really appreciate that you included measurements! So many of these videos skip this step and it makes it hard to visualize if it would work for me.
Same here I really appreciate it a lot because am building my house from scratch and the measurements help me visualize it because the contractor made my walk in closet 5’9” wide by 13’ long and am still trying to figure out if it is a small walk in closet or a decent size what are your thoughts
@@H_kiyanna_interiors same! We are finishing our attic with a master suite and our contractor is saying the 7 x 14 closet is "huge" but I had nothing to compare it to!

@@moxxibekk yah that’s pretty good size as I read online a walk in closet should be a minimum of 7’ wide for you to use 3 walls good luck
My closet is 70incces wide by 121 inches deep. I also have an angled wall that looks just like where you added the rod between units. Very helpful to see yours and thanks for sharing your measurements. Gives me a very good idea what mine will look like since our measurements are pretty darn close.

Great video, but can you reach the clothes hanging on top rods? Or do you have a step stool or something to get to them?
I'm 5'4" and I can reach from my tip toes! Sometimes I'll use a small step stool if I'm moving a lot of clothing around on the top rod.
This is such an detailed closet guide. exactly what I was looking for! I was eyeing the corner unit and am sad to hear it isn't one of Ikeas. I have the same problem with measurement help. Also didn't find the pax planner to be super helpful.

I need to use the shorter units. How many cm do you need from the top rail to the top of the unit?
I have approx 6cm from the top of the rail to the ceiling of the closet unit!

Thanks for sharing, I like the idea of putting a rail between the two pax shelves for long dresses. Is there any shelf between your husband clothing and your shoes shelf?
Jace and Kezia Wong Thank you! 💗 The rod between the two closet systems has come in so handy! Adds lots of extra hanging space. We don’t haven’t anything between my husband’s unit and my shoe shelf yet. I plan to put hooks on the wall though for small items like belts, ties, etc 😊
