Thing is the Violator album was recorded on 3 or 4 different studios and Enjoy the Silence was produced by a different guy. During the producing and recording process the song more and more became a pop ballad, which led Martin Gore to hate this idea. The song was about fulfillment, about completude, about having everything and desiring nothing more than to sit down and enjoy the silence. It took Martin 3 or 4 days to realize that the current version was way better than his original idea.
I love your arrangements, but I have a question... This song is in c minor. What's up with all the d#s? They're Ebs. B, E, & A are all flats in the c minor scale. The e flat minor (2nd chord in 1st phrase) has a g flat, it's not an f#. I'm curious as to why you choose # enharmonic equivalents as compared to bs (flats). Is your main instrument guitar? Anyway, I love your work, especially where you label the chord progressions. It makes it so easy for me to play both on piano & guitar. I've been binging on your videos for days. Depeche Mode's music is almost sacred to me, & thanks to you, I am learning a lot about their harmonic progressions. Thank you so much.
