    I've just had a complex shoulder repair, I'm currently at 8 weeks after repair. I'm finding these exercises far better the the ones my physiotherapist had given me. Great work, Thank you.

    4 weeks out, ahead of the curve with your videos. My PT starts in 2 weeks. Out of sling after 7 days. Had a tear, bone spur, bicept issue. Only moving until feeling a pull not pushing anything yet. Thanks.

    I am shocked!
    I am 7 weeks out from a tendon tear, 2 large clavicle bone Spurs and a decompression… they took me out of sling one week out and straight into therapy. A lot more aggressive than what you are doing now. He told me the only way I can mess up what he did is fall on it. My body let me know when I was doing too much too often. So I backed off some. Feel so much better this week. I was getting a little irritated about it all by week six. But he told me I was fixing to turn the corner and I did . So grateful.
    Excellent video! Thank you

    Thank you for posting these. I had the exact same surgery done on my right shoulder and biceps just before the Covid stay at home orders. I was unable to go to PT so these videos have been a great way for me to recover at home.

    I am 7 weeks after my operation. Subscapularis. ...Full thickness tear. . supraspinatus ...full thickness tear and ruptured bicep. My physio has given me exercises and tells me to push myself to where I can't stand it and then stop! Use a 1kg weight lying on my back doing slow punch ups. Using a cane to push my arm up as far as possible and to the side as far as possible. Am I doing too much at this stage? Your exercises seem gentler and I'll be giving them a go

    Hi there! I’m anxious as I wait for my appt w my Ortho Surgeon on the 10th April. Just wanted to know if you haven’t had any issue, pain after 4yrs from your shoulder surgery? I am skeptical if mobility will not be regained completely after surgery. Thank you. I’m from Sydney.

    So I assume at week 8 you are completely out of the sling. How are you treating the surgery arm when just going about you daily activities? Are you opening doors, taking items out of the refrigerator, etc. or are you treating the arm as a noodle?

    • @physiorehab

      Trying as much as it can tolerate within pain and range limits in the guide

      @@physiorehab I’m 9.5 weeks post op left shoulder, supraspinatus and small glenoid fracture. Bicep tendon was intact so left alone. I find myself inadvertently reaching for things. I’m very aware of not picking up anything of weight bet simple activities seem easily tolerated.

    I've had bankart repair 8 weeks ago which required 2 anchors. I'm active and healthy and go the gym regularly plus muay thai. My physio literally gives me 4 exercises to do when I see him every 2 weeks then puts a shock wave therapy machine on and goes out the room. I kind of feel like I'm getting fobbed off with my physio. I'm getting pain in the rear of my shoulder like I would pre op but without the slipping feeling. I told this to my PT who just pulled a confused face and sai "we will just call it a post op twinge" I started doing these exercises lastnight and hope they help.. are these recommended post bankart repair?

    I had arthroscopic subacromial decompression and AC joint excision. I am doing these exercises. I am slightly concerned as it is painful to a couple of them. For example the Flexion (Supine) i cant go all the way back. About 3/4 and then it’s sore. When does the pain and flexibility come back??

    I had a look into your example program and they look good but is it specific to my issue?

    What exactly do you mean by watch for the impingement at the top and the load on the bicepon at the bottom? I definitely feel a pull especially at the bottom. Do you stop where you can feel the difference? Don't want to hurt anything.

    do you have anything that covers high riding humeral head? (ski accident dislocated shoulder - full house Slap tear, bankart, tear on the supraspinatus, I was advised incorrectly to immobilse for 6 weeks so now also have a frozen shoulder. Had surgery 1 week ago for labral repair and capsular release. Under instruction to do passive ER to neutral and passive flexion to shoulder height for week 1. But when in flexion right humeral head doesn't glide in the socket. It rides high. (Looking for some reassurance that this is normal at this stage? Am a full comprehensive pilates instructor and haven't seen this before in my clients)

  • @leonshaw_ted

    I'm 8 weeks now .. and I'm nowhere near doing anything like that.. suffered full thickness tears to infraspinatus and supraspinatus tendons plus sublexed bicep..
    I'm still doing passive movement, but still getting lots of pain and restricted movement.. consultant said to continue, but I'm becoming impatient after hearing and seeing other people progress.. at what point can you tell if the surgery hasn't worked??

I guess that make the rehab very slow. Im not sure if its still on. I had a "stepp back" in week 5...pain...heart beat in sholder, pain in the beat.we will see...ill take it slow.. Hospitals advice are to hardcore.. Can i ask how your supra spinatus got total rupture?

    Hi Tim thanks a lot for the vids they are great. I am at week 11 and getting strength around the shoulder but still can't move my shoulder like you do in first exercise! As in impingement stops my shoulder rotating. I get to about 130 degrees.. any suggestions? Thanks so much...sam

      How is your shoulder now doing that exercise? I'm at week 8 and I feel that same impingement and around the 130 degree mark as well?
      Also how are you going with the external rotation exercise, the second exercise in this video? When I reach my limit which isn't all that far I get a sharp pain through shoulder and down into bicep

    • @samwood138
      @samwood138 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@xtractify I am at 5.5 months now and shoulder is excellent. It was slow for 12 weeks then rapidly improved. Keep it steady with exercises and take care of it slowly building strength.. Get a physio to massage and manipulate it that is how I got range of movement back. Good luck with it! Sam

    • @xtractify
      @xtractify 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@samwood138 that's great to hear, gives me some confidence that it will get better. Because right now it's hard to imagine how it's range of motion will increase from this point onwards as its so tight and painful still

      It's real in my case with a frozen shoulder and inflammation thats for sure. It can be structural and functional - depends on the condition
