This man can write the best damn songs----a bit of humor but filled with words that while about one thing like a truck having water in the fuel---but how in life----we too can have water in our "fuel" and like the truck will just eventually stop working, we can too....this kind of music is REAL COUNTRY music, non of that mindless throw away pap music that gets sold today as "Country Hit Music." Most of that stuff-AIN'T FREAKING SHIT!!! and not worth a bucket of warm spit....thank god for people like Fred who make REAL music as he has done all these years---even though other than those of us as consumers of music and those who seek to emulate what Fred does musically who KNOW, honor and VALUE REAL MUSIC, he has followed his own way and made a life for himself in music---good for him!!
While working as a swamper on a KW Brute gin truck we got pulled over on highway 40 by one of those marker light police. It had just started raining and the officer ask the driver if he could sit in the cab to write out the ticket. Well he climbed up and spotted a briefcase between the seats, pulled it out and set it on his lap to write the ticket. All you could hear was 100,000 hits of Trucker Speed rolling from one side to the other of that case. He kept writting and while he wrote he informed me that if he were to check that case and find illegal things, LIKE SPEED the fine would be 50 dollars,,,, Per Pill! Thank the truckers god it was the end of his shift and he wanted to go home!
I'm proud to have joined the ranks of the "Fredheads" to. I got to meet and talk with Fred after a recent show in Asheville, NC. It was such a rush to shake hands with my most favorite songwriter.
@@buckodonnghaile4309 yeppers…… my dad was raised on a farm in south dakota and my grandpa had a 10,000 acre corn farm in iowa, but at 6’2” 240 lbs, everything was strong on my grandpa (including his breath). i assumed it was his irish background, with a last name of gorman and a family history from county mayo. my great grandpa was also a farmer and 6’8” 300 lbs. not sure if he was born ireland or america, but his only weakness was dessert. i have seen farmer hands, and strong they are.
Went to his show in Gore Bay on Manitoulin Island last Saturday. First time in 30 years since I first seen him at the Manitoulin Folk Festival. hardly remember it but liked him then and he has only improved with time
