- A part of history now. A pair of Irish Rail small GM's depart Rosslare Europort with the early train to Waterford. Notice the ex BR BSK converted to a steam heat van behind the locomotives. Now a IR 2900 class unit turn.
05-04-2004.
Nice video. Rosslare Europort was the "new" station between Rosslare Harbour Mainland station and Rosslare Harbour Pier station. This looks like the 07.15 to Waterford. I used to catch this train as far as Rosslare Strand, and walk over the footbridge and wait for the following train, the 07.30 to Dublin Connolly. This used to score a second loco in the book. Originally the second train was also an 141, but in later years she was an 071. It looks like the second 141 on this videos dead in train, so probably a failure.
Signal failure too, judging by the yellow handsignal, displayed to authorise the train passed the section signal at danger.
Great video. 😁👍 I’m 13 years late but no harm 😂😂😂
nice shot man, it brings back the memories of Rosslare back in the day :)
Great video and memory's,but the fact that there is no one on the train says it all.most people in Wexford would not even know of the Rosslare-Waterford line.
The level crossing barriers are still there but the rest is all gone.
Reopen the Waterford to rosslare railway it will reduce the traffic accidents on our roads
Hi. no more to be seen?
Why was it necessary to have two engines pulling such a short train?
2 revenue generating carriages with three financially dead weight carriages? ICRs are much better.
Miss the sound of those GM diesels.
