I think ZUN was trying to make the stage themes more calm, which fits the lower difficulty from the previous 3 games. This game has one of the few Stage 5s that don't destroy me on Lunatic.

never got why people think TD is too easy - it's harder than most before it aside from SA and UFO. it's a fun and pretty good game, in my opinion at least. i don't really get the suggestion to keep easy and normal as is but make lunatic like SA or UFO - that makes no sense for the "difficulty ladder". it's meant to be the game progressing up and up for the player - suddenly making stuff like SA Lunatic after TD Normal/Hard would be plain stupid. favorite stage theme: Let's Live in a Lovely Cemetery, favorite boss theme: Legend of the Great Gods.
@@Ratoncitow EoSD and PCB are lower aswell and EoSD is simpler though, plus i don't see how releasing after UFO and SA was a weird thing - UFO and SA themselves released after EoSD-MoF, out of which the first 3 all get easier in terms of release date, MoF is also really not that hard and allows to spam bombs to win a lot and PoFV is, well, a different game entirely if the entire series was filled with SA and UFO-like games it would be understandable, but there's only one game released after UFO that is even similar in difficulty and it's the quite disliked LoLK.

I really liked this one, actually. It's.. different, but I like it. Double Dealing Character was a huge downgrade besides the stage 6 themes (which were amazing), and Legacy of Lunatic Kingdom, in my opinion is actually better than even Perfect Cherry Blossom
I still have EoSD, PCB, IN and PoFV as top tier in music, but the new ones are a roller coaster of music, some are god tier (Old Xuaxuan, Romance in Night Sky, Mermaid in Uncharted Land, Clownpiece's stage and boss theme, Crazy Backup Dancers are some of my faves) and others are just shit (Faith is for transient people). ZUN is testing(?) more types of music, thus why such diversity
