The theme to the Mistborn game is great theomatically. As a board game geek and Mistborn fan, I want to like this game more than I do. I think it's alright and fun, but not great mechanically.
I actually have both of these, and I love them The call to adventure one is fun, though I really have only done it with a good experience solitaire. Also I altered many aspects final-battle to make it more immersive and interesting. The only drawback is perhaps a lack of variety, but I’m forgiving on that. It almost feels like writing your own story within Roshar Mistborn house war is incredible, though it really is very hard to get out because you need at least 4 players for the most part. The art is really fitting and good for this one as well. I recommend both - Mistborn for those with larger groups available to play, Stormlight for those more inclined toward a smaller game
I recommend combining the base Call to Adventure game with the Stormlight one. There is a list of lore-friendly cards in the manual. Should help with the variety.
A few great 2 player board games: Onitama: my personal favorite 2 player. Its a Japanese, ninja themed Chess-like designed for 2 players. each player controls 4 pawns and a master on a 25 square grid. 5 cards are chosen as the moveset for the match and they shuffle between players with each move. you move in tetris like patterns, very quick to learn, and complex to master. plays in under 10 minutes. and 2 expansions, 1 being more moves and the other ads a wind spirit that can be used to keen players advantage Carcasonne: A Simple tile laying game about building roads and cities. major draw is the fact that there is no setup. just make a pile of tiles and draw randomly and watch as the map forms in front of you. its a go to opener for the family and I. Castles of Burgundy: A euro-style game where you roll dice and draw tiles with various abilities. this game plays great with 2 IMO. the setup can get a little annoying as each game makes you set up 5 times. meant to be played quickly and its at its best when it is..analysis paralysis can bog it down big time. Century: Eastern Wonders: an economic\trade game where you navigate a boat full of spices around a randomized map, trading spices for more spices and eventually fulfilling contracts. great design and there are 2 other games; Century Spice road, and Century A new world. each can play on its own or can also combined with different rule sets to make 6 different games, ranging from OK to Great..unique concept Pandemic: A coop game where you play as CDC members as you travel the world attempting to cure various diseases. very unforgiving and an absolute joy to play..it can be played alone as well and its still a joy, an just as brutal. Targi: A 2 player only game. a good amount of variability and also has an expansion, quick and cut-throat. havent played it a lot but i liked it. Tiny Epic Quest: Plays like an old-school Legend of zelda game in a way. fun, lots of variability but the endgame is a little lacking.
We love board games!!! Definitely on my Christmas wish list now!!! Also, I recently got into make up, like actually making an effort and can appreciate it so much more now! And yours looks wonderful!!! 🤩

Call to Adventure is a great game. I have problems with shipping Name of the Wind and Stormlight to my country though, but even the basic one is fantasctic. Reminds me of the 7wonders' mechanics.
I actually have a boardgame collection myself. Currently my favorite game is Lord of the Rings LCG. I would love to get some more "book - related" games, unfortunately non of those are sold in my country. They sound pretty interesting to be honest. Great video!

All board games have some kind of luck. It's the nature of board games. Decks of cards you draw from, dice you role, etc. I think that board games are all about working with luck based elements. It's kind of like life that way. We don't know what life is going to throw at us, but we have to prepare for it the best we can.
Are there any spoilers for Mistborn beyond book one, the final empire, in Mistborn House War? I've only read the first Mistborn book but the game sounds awesome.
Clever title, "Cosmere boardgames" and not "Boardgames based on works by Brandon Sanderson". I know you're not a fan of Brandon's other series, The Reckoners, but there is a boardgame based in that world as well. It's a cooperative dice rolling/allocation game. It's overproduced and on the pricey side. There is also a Kickstarter going with only 5 days left for the new expansion for it. This expansion adds in characters and locations from the second and third books, which if you haven't yet read the second, I recommend reading that one. I'm still holding out for a proper Mistborn video game myself.
