In an interview with Cody he talks about why he wrote the song, and he wrote it after he was almost in a plane crash last year with his wife and his crew. Then he says that you never know when you can leave this earth so just do everything you can until you can't
In 2003 I lost my mom at age 62 (my mom''s age), we were so very close. In 2004 at age 65 (my dad's age), I lost my I lost my dad. In 2012 at age 49 (my sister's age), I lost my sister! in 2018, after riding on the back of my husband's Harley for three decades; I decided it was time to ride my own. I've been riding now, with all my guardian angels and, my husband by my side: for a little over 4 years. If you gotta a chance, take it!! Take it while you've got the chance. Life won't wait for you, you've got to live out those dreams while you can. Great song, great reaction!!
Cody Johnson is a good one. He will be blowing up in the next few years. He already is big in the Texas country scene, playing massive concerts. The problem is the Texas country scene is kind of insular, but its going national now because a lot of the hardcore fan favorite independent artists are from the Red Dirt scene, which refers to the Texas & Oklahoma style. I think people will like Cody Johnson because there is a genuineness to him. I mean, the guy was actually a rodeo cowboy for a while. Not many country artists that can say that.
Alabama girl just subscribed because you just played CoJo! And born and raised in Illinois gotta love my Chicago BULLS! Plus bonus seem like nice guy!👍🏻❤️👏Thanks for sharing.
Cody Johnson has been playing what they call Texas country music or Red dirt country around Texas for a decade or better. He wanted to be a rodeo star more than anything but when he couldn't attend that goal he realized that playing at the rodeos was the next best thing. He he just signed a Nashville deal but he started his own label years ago and has produced six albums on his own label. He's got a ton of good songs. Monday morning Merle, dear rodeo, on my way to you, half a song, and many many more. Just research Cody Johnson
Love this song. This guy is newer & I love this positive message. You would like Tim McGraw's 'Humble & Kind' too. Another powerful tune out recently by artists I have just discovered, is called 'Wait in the truck' by Hardy & Lainey Wilson. It is shocking & powerful & thought provoking & a must see by everyone.
He's actually been around for a while now, just recently gained a huge following. A lot of his stuff from "Cowboy Like Me" and "A Different Day" albums are absolutely amazing
The girl in the video (the one on the phone) lost her brother unexpectedly. She got "that phone call" while hanging out with friends. Her husband goes up to comfort her and she hands him the phone because she's too upset to talk. The video shows flashbacks of her brother doing all the things he loved, hanging out with his dad, grandpa and friends until he couldn't. So basically, cherish every moment and do things now because you never know.
The song is written from the POV that YOU may not always be around. Life happens. Don't waste it on bullshit. Appreciate your loved ones now, and let them know you love them...because YOU may suddenly be gone and can't.
He is awesome - such a heartfelt song. Please react to his song “Never Go Home Again”. It’s not a sad one but one that will make you move. New subscriber here!

More often than not country is about heart and soul, which anyone can appreciate in their own way.

And the young guy in the video is the one they lose.
The song wasn’t even written by him.. he’s just that talented! He’s one of the best country artist out there right now
Fun fact he did write it
I mean……no. Stapleton, Gill, Dunn, Mcentire, Loveless, Judd, Pride, I could keep going but my point is proven. But he’s cool.
Nothing on you. Id like to see your reaction.
Hit me deep 😢
