- Exploring the Outdoors with the Engwe Engine X | Lunch Outdoors & NEW Trekology Chair!
In this video, I explore some of the local trails on the Engwe Engine X full suspension ebike. A comfortable and capable bike, with a decent load bearing capacity on the rear rack make this an ideal adventure companion - even better, from the factory UK legal meaning you have peace of mind that you're on the right side of UK legislation. A high capacity, good quality battery ensures that you won't run out of power on your adventures.
This bike is pretty much identical to the Engine PRO aside from the power - the Engine Pro also has hydraulic disc brakes, whereas these are mechanical - the display on the Engine Pro is also better in my humble opinion. The fat tyres and suspension do a great job of soaking up the bumps on difficult terrain, although the tyres aren't so grippy in muddy conditions if they're inflated to the max. All in all, this ebike offers a fun and accessible way to enjoy the great outdoors!
Things I like about this ebike:
- Suspension soaks up the bumps
- High load carrying capacity (25KG on rear rack)
- 5 different pedal assist levels
- Folds away to save space / transportation
Things I would like to see in an upgrade:
- Hydraulic disc brakes - mechanical are okay, but it's a heavy bike and stopping power is paramount
- Ditch the massive tyres for standard rims
- Remote lockout on the forks
- Higher quality gears
It's great to enjoy the outdoors in different ways and I hope you enjoyed this video - thank you for watching, Chris

Great review of what looks like the perfect ebike for everyday use over various terrains. Must say Engwe do some great ebikes too at a very fair price when compared to other brands.
They do make some great utility type bikes! ATB, Chris
Many thanks for the video, did I miss the mountain hardwear tent draw, hope you and your family are doing well many thanks 🙏
Great video Chris bike looks a bit of a tank if that battery ever let you down 👍👍
Definitely a work out with zero power left 👍
Good video, Chris! You Tube did not tell me you had a new vid out so I had to go looking for this one. Very nice EV bike. Really like that chair. Have to check when that will be available. Seems like that bike needs to have a hand warming feature for such weather outings. Take care.
Thanks for watching mate and taking time to comment. Appreciated as ever.
👋🏻
Show me the welds Chris !!! 🤣 I get where you are coming from - it's just........it's not very pleasing on the eye (my personal opinion, others are available)
Haha, haven't you said that before? I like the look. Beauty in the eye of the beholder. Thanks for watching mate
Good review vid.
Thanks!
Cheers Chris, out of all of the E bike reviews you've done I agree this looks to be the best one for me to. With it being small and folding is perfect for what I'd be looking at getting one for. Nice colour too. Thanks pal 👍
Nice one dude! ATB 👍
The littel bike is really cool ❤
Nice way of getting around. ATB & thanks for watching
Looks like a nice bit of kit Chris!
Nice for a relaxing and easy way to get outdoors!
The engwe sites says the engine x has hydrolic brakes too
Defo mechanical on the Engine X
The waterproof rating IP2 kinda put me off from buying it due to it not being fully waterproof so if it rained goodbye electric bike
Not sure if it's any more or less waterproof than any other electric bike?
Some have a IP4 rating av seen
Great video that mate, been thinking on getting myself a bike like that but then I feel like I am not actually pushing myself that much hahaha.
By any chance would u sell your Fjallraven stubben as I have been looking for a while and the old model is perfect for what I want?
Thanks pal....... Unfortunately I will never sell my original Stubben as I don't like the new one. Keep your eyes peeled on Ebay as they do come up from time to time.
Get yourself a proper motorcycle, maybe an off roader like a little Honda CRF300L, that could really take you places
Will have to do my test one day.
👍⚽️🚴♂️🚴♂️👍👍
the uk laws are so stupid
Hi Chris, Sorry for the delay in watching your video. I love your reviews very detailed. I like the bike and chair. Love the colours. Hope you have agreat weekend. 😊👍🚵♀
Cheers Cath, you too 👍
