Bro Celts are what connects us . British, West and South German , Alpine area in total , Spain , Portugal , northern italy , balkans and many other European countrys . I believe thats why as a southern German I felt quite at home in Central Spain , i didnt expect Them to feel so related ..

Es passiert selten das ich sprachlos bin, aber bei diesem Lied fehlen mir die Worte. Es ist einfach nur genial. Ich muß förmlich den Zwang unterdrücken mitzumachen, nur gelingt's mir einfach nicht :-) Gibt viele Lieder von denen die gut sind aber dies übertrifft sie alle.
Fazit: Anhören und im Takt mitmachen ist schon Pflicht. Eine Empfehlung ist dies Lied auf jeden wert.

I was in Ireland in 2017. I tried to find smbd. speaking Irish free in Dublin. Unfortunately, I didn't find, except one girl working in the pub. She told to go to Galway region where she was from, there I'd listen to Irish lang. Keep your Traditions and preserve your Language like my folk keeps and preserves - you will not be Irish without Them. Good luck from🇺🇦

Ich höre nun schon seit einigen Jahren die Musik von Celtic Woman. Trotz der vielen Mitglieder-Wechsel (außer Máiréad, die mit der Violine) schaffen sie es immer, mich mit ihrer Musik in einen Bann zu ziehen. Auch wenn mich die keltische/irische Geschichte nicht all zu sehr interessiert. Als ich sah, dass sie mit Oonagh zusammenarbeiteten, konnte ich mir sofort vorstellen, dass da was Gutes rauskommt. Und ich lag falsch. Es ist nicht gut, sondern absolut FANTASTISCH!
"Tír na nÓg" ist soweit ich weiß das Land der ewigen Jugend, was hier auch schön wieder gespiegelt wird: "Clear the way, I will take you home to eternal bliss". Leider habe ich keine Ahnung, was "Sha ti co ti oh scum ne rivna [...]" im Refrain bedeutet. Also falls jemand das weiß, kann er es mir gerne sagen :D

Hoffe ich konnte wenigstens etwas helfen :-) anbei ich höre die auch schon recht lange UND sehr gerne. Besonders ein bzw zwei Lieder haben's mir angetan: *"You Raise Me Up"* und *"The Little Drummer Boy"*. Allein bei diesen Titeln bekomme ich schon 'ne Gänsehaut vom feinsten ;-)
Du hattest recht du lagst falsch. Aber das Lied ist meiner Meinung nach von diesem abrupten Musikwechsel zwischen den Strophen und den Refrains total ruiniert

Nah celtic music will still be around for at least your lifetime. Thats all that matters. And probably another 300 years after.
English came to ireland 900 years ago and Gaelic has existed for at least 200 years before. That means Gaelic irish has been around for over a thousand years even while adopting a new language. And about 30% of people in ireland can still speak it today.
It'll be kept alive for a decent amount of time still.
Someone should do a PMV of this. Love the music, and the atmosphere, it carries a certain haunting beauty.

@@jeradturner2529 I have mixed feelings about the music, because although I am primarily Scotch-Irish (on my father's side), the national heritage is mostly a combination of staunch traditional Roman Catholicism and ancient pagan superstition, of which the lyrics of this song in particular (but by no means atypically) strongly reflects; and which I as an evangelical Christian find sad and regrettable. 🤔 That being said, I love the instruments used in the music--the bagpipes, dulcimer, etc. it has a unique style all it's own! :)

In the Irish myth cycles, the land of Tir na nOg is the realm of the Otherworld, the place where the Fae lived and heroes visited on quests. It was a place just outside the realm of man, off to the west, where there was no illness or death or time, but only happiness and beauty.
I am not irish, but is also not something about if you whent there, and stayed to long, and then left you would ages or even die, if you walked out on foot, on horse you could go, but not ever get down from the horse.
What a beautiful story! Thank you for that lovely piece of history! BTW; I married a "flame-haired maiden" named Melissa in 1993. I think I have a sense of why Oisin fell in love with Niamh. I am a retired Soldier; I can understand why a legendary hero was necessary to be the partner of flame-haired Niamh! If my own experience is any guide, I bet she put him to the test, and once he passed, she tended his wounds and became a partner most men can only dream of having. I love myth and legend!

+Heike Dragonlady es ist vergleichbar aber nicht dasselbe. Avalon ist eher im heutigen britischen Bereich bekannt, vor allem in den walisischen Sagen. Tir na Nog kommt daher aus der irischen Mythologie
