This is exactly the video I’ve been waiting for Jason thank you! I was going to get my parents a new PC for Christmas because their old one is from like 2007😂. But with the holidays I decided I need to wait for a few reasons until January and buy the parts to put together myself for a better cheaper build over a prebuilt. With the B580’s release I knew this was the perfect card for their needs but wasn’t sure the parts I’d want to get to keep it under 700$. Thanks again for all you do, keep up the great work and happy new year!

And to think less than two months ago to build a "PS5 Pro killer" for $700 or less, you'd have to buy some parts used. Things change fast in the pc tech world.
You’re going to need to get a card that cost more than 400 bucks to do that. If you caught a 7800xt for 350-450 then you’re good to go. Will stop cost more than 700 bucks.

I’m trying to build my first PC soon! I have a budget of about the $1k zone. This is very helpful! (I have a friend who builds occasionally so I won’t be going in completely blind) but thank you!
For 1k budget, I would go with his build for the $850. However, I'd get the 7600X (he chose the non-X version, which is the same price atm and worse). I'd go with a 750W gold PSU for future upgrading and better efficiency, such as the Corsair 750e Gold+ PSU for $40 more. I'd also splurge for the Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 SE for $20 more. All together about $910, leaving you some leftover budget for a slightly better monitor or get yourself a 650VA APC Uninterruptible Power Supply (which is like a battery backup for your computer).

I want to get an X870E motherboard and am willing to spend money on top-tier CPU, RAM, and storage with the goal of future-proofing as much as possible. The idea of the Intel B580 intrigues me. So, I've been gaming on a i7 7700k (with an auto overclock thanks to the next component) ASRock z270 extreme4 32gb of DDR4 Ram running at 3200mhz with the ASRock Intel B580 12gb Challenger OC for several days now playing old and new titles like Borderlands GOYE Enhanced, Half-Life 2, and stalker 2. During these sessions I've experienced zero problems with not having rebar enabled.
It's not that you'll have problems. It's that the B580 performance drops by as much as 40% depending on the game. That's performance built into the card that you're leaving on the table.
it is simply like a redeeming light that heals your wounds in such times and brings hope back into the matter. intel simply has to offer good cards so that the consumer gets fairer prices
Looking forward to trying this card, but so far eBay scalpers got them all and marked them up at least a hundred bucks. I sure wish people wouldn't support them.
Yeah the Intel Arc B580 is an excellent GPU for its price. I think with future optimization it can reach close to an RTX 4070. I would 100% reccomend people skip the RTX4060, 4060TI, 4060TI 16GB, 5060, 6600, 6600XT, 7600, 7600XT, 7600XT 16GB for the ARC 580.
thanks for the video. I was waiting for assemblies with an Intel card. unfortunately, it is not yet available in Ukraine, and there is no information on when it will be either (
oh my I was spending a week to figure out a build with this gpu and literally same case. I wanna use fan cooler but I can’t decide which cooler to use in matx case. With r 7 7700.
Built a similar system as my first PC build 2-3 years ago (i12400 CPU, 32GB DDR4 Ram, 2tb SSD, etc) but due to GPU supply issues I ended up getting a used 3070 (ideally didn't want 8gb VRAM...). Would it be worth selling the 3070 and replacing with the Arc B580? I'm a casual gamer at 1440p and would ideally like to get 2-3 years before upgrading further.
Using the ryzen 5 7600x for my gaming build but the asrock b650 pro rs wifi matx is impossible to find. Is there another recommendation? A step up or step down.
I need help so bad. I built my pc and everything seems good, but eveytime it gets to the "you can step away we'll take it from here" 3 step download/ install, it restarts, does one little load screen thing then goes to the aorus load screen and freezes. I've tried everything, I'm at a loss.
Hi Jason, With the incomming Gpu's and insane uptick in cost the b850 looks like a decent possible short term option. My question is. with limited budget with option for 1 major upgrader in 1-2 years. Is the better option going for a 7800x3d or 9800x3d paired with a B850 then later upgrading the the GPU down the road. Or would it be more viable to get a 7600f or x3d and getting one of the new/newer Gpus like the rx 9070 or rx7900gre and later upgrade Cpu. My pc functions as a private workstation and gaming pc for coding and mainly competetive gaming and mmo's
Depends on the game, your monitor, and in-game settings, but no the 5600x will not bottleneck the B580. You would need to go back by almost 10-year old CPUs to get one that will bottleneck that GPU.
I had a question. It's it bad to use daisy-chained psu cables to power your gpu? I imagine that it is better to use separate cables when possible, but is there any danger when you can't? Thanks
3 วันที่ผ่านมา
It's not necessarily danger but can make build unstable
Not really but it can create another point of potential failure. Generally if your PSU is good (C tier or higher) it should shut everything down before it's dangerous if the chaining is "not optimal"
I want the ARC card if I can find it. You mentioned not to get the A Series motherboard but I was looking at the ASRock A620I because I have a NR200 case. What about the A series boards are Gen 3? I'm confused.
Yes they are the same CPU just the 5600XT is clocked slightly higher. Don't overpay for the 5600XT as it will have the same performance for this GPU as a 5600X.
The b580 is a better card but it's currently way over its $250 msrp due to low supply so the a770 was a good choice. I've had the card you got for about a year now and it's been great!
I’m wanting to upgrade just for space marine 2. Would not going above a 5600x still be your advice for such a cpu demanding game? (Looking to game at 1440p) I’m under the impression you want to be at 7800x3d for that game.
I was hoping to just drop in a 5700x3d and this gpu. But looks like the b350m mobo needs an upgrade too. So only the 32 gb of RAM left so guess that might as well go am5 at that point
It would only be a sidegrade for you. I would only recommend the B580 if you didn't have the 4060, and were deciding between the two. Assuming you could find it in stock at msrp.
The 5600G is pcie gen 3, you can see in our testing in the video that its not ideal with the B580 but you can decide if that's a deal breaker for you. You might consider dropping in a 5700X3D in the future with it
Wendell from Level1Tech did a video about the stuff happening with the B580 on linux and I'd suggest that as a place to find out if it's good for you... I only know it's drivers aren't as mature as windows as of a week ago.
I do think we are going to see stock issues with all the new GPUs this year sadly. Especially on something like this that's actually a good buy lol. Annoying but part of being an early adopter I'm afraid. Really hoping we'll get them back in stock soon!

@Dyonivan oh, well good thing I'm building a new rig with an i5 12400kf and that B580 I mentioned earlier.
HAPPY NEW YEAR🎉 AND STOP BUYING THIS GPU! (not this one)😅
Happy New Year! And yes lol
Its impossible to get the damn b580 at retail
I got the 12900KS, Z790 Lightning Wifi motherboard, Sparkle Arc B580, TT Tower 500 case and A720 Aircooler
Hope the b580 sells like bred. We desperately need some competition in the GPU market.
Can't wait for next year's launches and reviews..
Me too! Expecting the stock issues to be solved soon and hoping it sells like hotcakes (:
B580 best value GPU! 🤩
it is simply like a redeeming light that heals your wounds in such times and brings hope back into the matter. intel simply has to offer good cards so that the consumer gets fairer prices
I would personally get a used AM4 B550 mobo with 5700x3d along with 32gigs of ram. And boom the best budget pc for 1080p/1440p Gaming Pc
I tune in for the PC content but stay for the Meow Meows!
We appreciate your viewership! And the kitties appreciate the attention, too :)
Hi, I have a ryzen 5500 with an rx 6600. Is it worth upgrading to the b580. If so, can the 5500 handle the b580? TIA
where did you buy the B580 ?
thanks for the video. I was waiting for assemblies with an Intel card. unfortunately, it is not yet available in Ukraine, and there is no information on when it will be either (
If I do the 850 build but put a 7800XT in it, would you get a bigger psu?
oh my I was spending a week to figure out a build with this gpu and literally same case.
Hi Jason,
With the incomming Gpu's and insane uptick in cost the b850 looks like a decent possible short term option.
Is there any DSR equivalent of Intel so people with 1080p monitor can use B580 full potential in some games?
with regards of high power idle, as mentioned in techpowerup, needs the ASPM enabled to reduce it from 34w to 7w. have you tested it too?
Hi i was thinking about building this pc how much fps would this average
Depends on the game, your monitor, and your settings in the game. LTT has a good video of them playing games with the B580.
what do u think the best pc to get in 2025 under 1700$ with ryzen cpu and nvidia graphics card
What would be the performance difference between the builds? Do cheaper CPUs like the 5600x bottleneck the B580 in anyway?
Depends on the game, your monitor, and in-game settings, but no the 5600x will not bottleneck the B580. You would need to go back by almost 10-year old CPUs to get one that will bottleneck that GPU.
I had a question. It's it bad to use daisy-chained psu cables to power your gpu? I imagine that it is better to use separate cables when possible, but is there any danger when you can't? Thanks
It's not necessarily danger but can make build unstable
Not really but it can create another point of potential failure. Generally if your PSU is good (C tier or higher) it should shut everything down before it's dangerous if the chaining is "not optimal"
I prefer to have one cable per connection but some of the newer PSUs come where the daisy chains have their own leads. So it really depends
Hold my 7900 XTX. Kidding:) i like the new Arc Models very much
I want the ARC card if I can find it. You mentioned not to get the A Series motherboard but I was looking at the ASRock A620I because I have a NR200 case. What about the A series boards are Gen 3? I'm confused.
Basically my build! 12400f, b580, 32gb power x 6000 30cl, 1tb nvme, asus prime b760 plus, thermaltake gf3 750watt, montech xr case 🔥
Nice!!
@@PCBuilderChannel dont have the b580 yet. Waiting on them to get back in stock
What do you think intels 24 gigabyte video card that's incoming ? It's to bad there is going to be another GPU shortage like in 2020.
The cat when you talking about cards being lightweight 🤣
I hoped someone would catch that joke lol
I have i3 12100f with h610m so arc b580 fine with this or should i upgrade my cpu also 🤔
You would likely be fine. It would be optional to upgrade.
Is it possible to substitute out the Ryzen 5 5600X for Ryzen 5 5600XT ?
Yes they are the same CPU just the 5600XT is clocked slightly higher. Don't overpay for the 5600XT as it will have the same performance for this GPU as a 5600X.
I built me nephew and niece some 5600x builds with a770 16gb cards.(phantom gaming $279)
Would the b580 have be better?
The b580 is a better card but it's currently way over its $250 msrp due to low supply so the a770 was a good choice. I've had the card you got for about a year now and it's been great!
The all white build with a Black GPU is throw me off. Is there a White B580 Model?
Asrock's Steel Legend model is white and Sparkle also plans on making a white version available in february.
does it support aio
I’m wanting to upgrade just for space marine 2. Would not going above a 5600x still be your advice for such a cpu demanding game? (Looking to game at 1440p) I’m under the impression you want to be at 7800x3d for that game.
Once you go above 1080p, your CPU becomes largely irrelevant.
I was hoping to just drop in a 5700x3d and this gpu. But looks like the b350m mobo needs an upgrade too. So only the 32 gb of RAM left so guess that might as well go am5 at that point
Yes jumping to AM5 probably makes sense for you then
so if i currently have a 4060 is it worth it to upgrade to the b580? (my CPU- Ryzen 5700X3D)
It would only be a sidegrade for you. I would only recommend the B580 if you didn't have the 4060, and were deciding between the two. Assuming you could find it in stock at msrp.
I have a b550m aorus elite w/5600g; would this go well with b580 gpu?
The 5600G is pcie gen 3, you can see in our testing in the video that its not ideal with the B580 but you can decide if that's a deal breaker for you. You might consider dropping in a 5700X3D in the future with it
Will the b580 work good with linux?
I actually don't know! I don't do linux myself so I'd do a little googling around that one. Sorry!
@PCBuilderChannel No problem man. Thanks for answering :D
I hope you will have a wonderful year 💪
Wendell from Level1Tech did a video about the stuff happening with the B580 on linux and I'd suggest that as a place to find out if it's good for you... I only know it's drivers aren't as mature as windows as of a week ago.
@@SpoonHurler Yea, I have read some stuff on google. It would be a better idea to use AMD with Linux, at least for now. Thanks for the response
Where can you find the b580 at a decent price? Every listing I've seen on Amazon and Newegg has been between $370-$410, and that's USD!
Give it a month or so. Should come back in stock once everything else launches.
Currently 400$ for the b580 12gb the same price as 4060 ti unfortunatley in europe..
Im using rebar on 9700k Z390 , so must have been a bios update.
Can’t currently find the B580 in Canada at the moment.
I do think we are going to see stock issues with all the new GPUs this year sadly. Especially on something like this that's actually a good buy lol. Annoying but part of being an early adopter I'm afraid. Really hoping we'll get them back in stock soon!
