Every year during manatee season this is the place to come to see them. Manatees love to visit areas near power plants because the water is really warm for them. The colder the day, the better chance you will see them.
Yeah manatees love power plants because they make the water warm. It really helps them during winter. They can't stay in water below 65 for too long. If you get a chance check this place out when it is cold. You will love it!
It is only open Nov 1 to April 15. The manatees leave that area when it warms up. The colder the day, the better because all the manatees come. Hope you enjoy your time!
If you are lucky you can park right next to the viewing center and get a free charge for your EV or PHEV. The only problem is people with gas cars blocking those spots because of their ideal location. It isn’t policed very well but I was able to get a spot and free charge on my last visit.
Wow! That was really something else! All of those manatees! And the views from the watch tower are gorgeous! Great video~ Nat
We had an awesome day!

It is nice that they offer free charging, but they should watch the area to allow electric only.
Sometimes the Manatees will venture down here in the Corpus Christi Texas Bay .
They like warm water. Such beautiful creatures!
