I have nothing wrong with people named Spencer (except for one), but the name always reminds me of the cruelest bully I had in my school days. If I named a child that, every time I’d speak to them or see their name written I’d get flashbacks to the bullying I went through. That’s why I can definitely understand the reasoning behind it. Don’t worry about your name, let how you live prove your worth. Just know anyone that may have been bullied by someone with your name may just get uncomfortable memories and not because of you just because of a namesake.

my parents did that too! one of my name options was too similar to a popular brand of margarine so they didn't pick that one, and with all of the names they considered my mom imagined a successful business woman on a big desk and a metal name tag standing on it, reading the name. She could immediately cut out a lot of cute names that just looked silly or too childish when applied to an adult. I ended up with a super flexible 10 letter name, great for nicknames as a kid and now great and memorable on a job application!
