    Just wanted to throw out an update to this video..I followed this EXACTLY as he spoke, word for word! Except for 2 major things:
    1, I purchased a 13 inch (yes they fit great and perfect on any pro master) for my 2020 1500 high roof promaster. This was from the same company, and a slightly different unit, it was a single not a double head unit.
    2. I did NOT use the updater device thing, as it is not available. I said F IT full send if it works it works, if not i'll return it to amazon. IT WORKS AMAZING! EVERY single wire that is needed and matches another MUST be spliced and cut and heat shrinked together. Once that is done, and you followed this video EXACTLY (other than my two points) it will work just fine.
    There is only 1 major issue, i have no rear camera when going into reverse. i have to click the camera rear app that came pre installed in order to see my rear cam (stock promaster camera). i am going to try and purchase the joying rear cam and see if that makes a difference.
    So yes, to all you pro master owners, this will work on your NEWER model van no problem. Even with any of the joying units!!! Just literally follow his instructions piece by piece and you'll have an amazing system in your van.

    An FYI for others who maybe interested in this upgrade. I have a 2018 and followed the setup as described in the video using the PAC interface and it worked without any issues. The 10in Joying unit I received is a newer model running Android 12. There was no SWC app for setting the steering wheel controls instead there is a section in the unit settings that allows you to map the steering wheel keys. I used the orange/white wire from the PAC Nav Outputs to connect to the Joying orange wire this enabled the display to change from day to night setting when the lights are turned on. Other than that I followed everything as Jack did and I'm happy with the result. For the price its excellent! One of my steering wheel controls is not working so I'll have to look into that maybe the contact needs to be cleaned 😀

    Great tutorial! You make me think I can actually do this. Couple questions: Do the backup camera lines add ON TOP of the original camera’s lines so that you have two sets of lines, or can you turn one set of lines off? Also, are the backup lines “adjustable?” So, can you align them to adjust for the parallax of the camera? Thanks for putting this up.

      No issues with that. Sounds like the PAC harness is causing the problem. It's probably jamming the CAN network. Make sure you plug it in just like the instructions say to and how I did in this video. If it still doesn't work, you may have a bad PAC harness.

    • @JackofAllMasterofNone
      @JackofAllMasterofNone  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Let's start with the obvious. The green wire coming out of the PAC interface should have plus 12 volt power on it when the vehicle is in reverse. So you need to check that with a multimeter. If it does not have + 12 volt power, something is wrong with the PAC interface or it is not compatible. They claim it is only compatible with 2014 through 18. If you do have power coming from the green wire when in reverse it needs to be connected to the orange wire labeled back on the joying harness. That will trigger the stereo to look for the backup camera signal. You also need to make sure the RCA cable coming out of the pack harness is plugged into the camera in rear view wire on the joying harness. Let me know where you are at with this and the results

    • @ericivy8888
      @ericivy8888 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I've read through all the comments on here, and I think I just don't understand this part of your comment, and that I'm missing this vital connection:
      "The can box interface has a backup camera trigger wire coming out of it. You have to connect that wire to the trigger wire on the Joying unit. Then double check that the backup camera trigger is turned on in the Joying factory settings."
      Questions:
      -Where/what is the backup trigger wire coming out of the Can Box?
      -Where/what is the trigger wire on the Joying unit? (Trigger wire isn't mentioned in your video or any of the manuals, I realize it's prob slang or industry term for a signal wire, but which one is it? AKA the label on the wire or unit.)
      -I went through factory settings and don't see a "backup camera trigger" in there. Anything related to backup camera I've played with, toggled on and off, and no luck.
      -What does the orange "back" wire mean...is it for backup lights? Backup camera? It comes out of the head unit but there's no matching orange wire coming from the RAM harness. Guessing this wire is involved...
      It seems like many others have struggled getting the backup camera to work. I'm hoping by posting some pictures and getting some clarity it can help others too! When it switches to reverse, nothing happens on the screen.

    Do you know if the PAC unit works with a 2020 Honda CR-V? I installed the Joying 10.1 w knob. My reverse camera works but static line don't move and my sensor don't work either.

      You should reach out to Joying. I don't believe the lines move on that year of CRV. The sensors should work though. It may be a settings problem with the canbus decoder. The PAC unit would not be correct for your CRV

      @@JackofAllMasterofNone I reached out to them earlier this week. They are sending anoth canbus. Not sure if it is same or different. Customer support has been good at best. But all my issues so far have been addressed.

    what about the blinking battery and seatbelt light and the check engine light in the gauge cluster? Does that get fixed somehow?

    • @JackofAllMasterofNone
      @JackofAllMasterofNone  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That was not a thing. No lights were onthat shouldn't have been. They always come on when your first start the vehicle.

      @@JackofAllMasterofNone oh, in the parts of the video you have that showed the guage cluster those lights were blinking. And I am of course interested in very specifically that stuff because what I read is that that stuff can be a problem when changing out the head unit. I might have missed a part of the video where you showed the gauge cluster without the engine, batt and belt lights blinking.

      @@JackofAllMasterofNone Oh wait, maybe that was not blinking but rather an aliasing effect from the camera and the lights maybe blinking at a high frequency because of some electronics? But I don't know why those lights would be on a high frequency ac circuit. They certainly don't blink like that for me when I'm in ACC or ON

      It's because they are LEDs. That is just an illusion created by the camera. They are just steady when viewed with your eyes.

      Just followed your instructions to a T on my 2018 Promaster 2500 and I have the same issue - my camera is not detected when shifting into reverse. Do you know the name of the Android app that is supposed to be launched when shifting into R? Any backup camera specific settings I should look at? 🙏

      The can box interface has a backup camera trigger wire coming out of it. You have to connect that wire to the trigger wire on the Joying unit. Then double check that the backup camera trigger is turned on in the Joying factory settings.
