This idea did nit work as well as it appear in the tutorial. We ended up with a puddle of water. The other arrangement I made, I taped it. In order Toni deer the flowers, I needed a knife or flower pruner to poke a hole where su was going to insert my roses. If I didn’t, the stem would break
I would start with greenery to make a base/skeleton shape then follow with flowers, but each designer works differently. Great explanation as we go along though, thank you.
I loved this tutorial. well explained. I agree with you in a lot of things. I find it easier to start with greenery myself but other than that great video, darling!
This was a very expensive casket piece. Basically the cost is per stem, ie roses can run from 7 to 10 dollars each and orchards even more so. Don't get me wrong , this is a very beautiful and well done arrangement. However, a fuller a less expensive product is achieved by building with greenery first. I have never had any problem with the stems being in good contact with the water source when using the greenery first. Also, there are casket bases (NeverWilt as an example) that have a reservoir that helps hold water and also to keep any moisture off the casket and it's occupant (Mortuary directors are very picky about that). But, each florist has their own method and all of them are good if the basics are followed...balance, making sure the mechanics are unseen, and of course the proper treatment of the product. (fyi I been a florist since 1969).
Wow. Congratulations for working in this wonderful industry for so long. You have a lot of knowledge... do you have a TH-cam channel? I would love to learn some of your techniques as I am working towards becoming a florist myself!
I'm new to your channel!! I watched one video and was hooked!! You're awesome!! I've got one question though....where could I find those plastic bags that you use to put your oasis in? And Thank you for sharing your knowledge!!
The issue with bagging the foam is it's an added barrier against the flowers. An extra step, to now have to puncture the plastic so that you don't break stems. Then as you're arranging more water come out of the sponge. Then when the water seeps out of the bag, there's no way for it to rehydrate the flowers. there's no way for the foam to absorb the water as the flowers drink the water since there's a barrier.
Loved this tutorial! For transporting for a 4 hr drive, how do I best protect (loosely cover??) the finished arrangement? The deceased has no burial insurance or other funds to put toward cost, so how does the cost of this DIY spray of this type actual compare to a professionally made spray? Am I potentially saving money? Thank you in advanced!
I really needed to see this my mom has 6 children and she’s burying her eldest son. This is our 1st immediate funeral, my dad was cremated and he was a Veteran WW2. So was my brother. But now in days the veterans dittos way more difficult than his insurance. Unbeknownst to us the funeral home does not provide flowers so I’m here to make ASAP ! 1 question how long before the service should we prepare this ? Peace and blessings... yours truly a sad baby sister 😪
That will not go in my area. We do large casket sprays the average is $300 to $400 and contain many more flowers. I have done several $500. Most have lots of greenery flowing and hanging.
I can't see the sense in sending flowers to a funeral they're dead so can't see them. Just a waste of money. I've never been to a funeral and I'm not going to start.
Thank you I was trying to figure out how to preserve the flowers to lasts longer this is a great tip
Very nice and easily explained. Thanks
I love the idea of putting the floral foam in plastic to hold water longer. Great idea! I am gonna use this one.

Thank you. You made this very easy to follow. I have to make a spray for a friend today. How long should it be for a close casket? Beautiful.

Beautiful arrangement....thank-you!
Do you have to put on casket? Or does the funeral home do it for you?

Keep it in a cool place for transportation away from direct sun, spray with water.
Beautiful arrangement. Can you recommend a different alternative to lillies please?
That's so beautiful

Just learning how to make these and wonder where you purchase your supplies from?

Are the palm leaves and baby breath artificial? Just curious.
All real fresh flowers

Please, accept my condolences. Prepare a day before the funeral and try to keep it in a cool place.
New subbie!
brilliant well done..
How many dozen of each kind of flowers did you use
Curious, how long have you been a designer?
How did you pin the ribbon to the sponge?
Beautiful arrangement - how do you secure the arrangement to the casket?
How many flowers did you use of each?
very pretty thank you
Talkative
Thank you so much.

This is just a floral tutorial, add as many flowers as you want Dennis.
🆗🆗

Well one day you be going to your very own.. So I guess that would be your first and last
I didn’t like this as much as your previous work only because it looked messy and child like
