Then quite obviously she used the wrong figure of speech. If you think that expressing a thought in a figure of speech excuses her from her responsibility to debate things properly instead of engaging in unsubstantiated platitudes, then you need to look up the definition of parliament.

It can certainly be bad for your argument to say “this is not up to debate” on an item which could infact be up to debate, she is using the figure of speech to signify her certainty that this viewpoint is correct, not that “we should not discuss this”

Doubles needs to learn economics, Jacinda dropped interest rates to never before seen low of 2.4% as a consequence the whole country went shopping for boats, cars , jet skis and property as a consequence property prices increased by 40% under Jacinda and Grant Robertson and they left it like that for far too long despite it was obvious that they had bought about massive inflation , this combined with ridiculously restrictive immigration levels ( (zero !) for a couple of years caused wage inflation to go out of control - result we are now in recession to try and bring inflation under control. Inflation only benefits those with debt or capital , it makes the poor and our young much worse off financially and has made it incredibly difficult for them to get ahead, hence our young are fleeing to Australia in droves while we import more Uber drivers and unskilled hammer hands from India, Phillipines and China - the Jacinda Hipkins govt were totally incompetent at every level bar none.

Amazing, the very thing that drives inflation harder than anything is the printing and borrowing of the currency yet neither the current government not the previous government make any reference to it when reporting on inflation and its reasons. This leads me to believe that this current government intends to borrow and or print more FIAT.
