4501 mainly pulls trains on the weekends, although it does sometimes pull trains on select weekdays. However, it pulling trains on weekdays is very rare. It does usually start pulling trains on the last two trains of every Friday.
The tickets can be purchased at the ticket counter at the TVRM. I got there super early to ensure we got a spot They mentioned that it is a first come first serve for the cab ride. Hopefully you can ride in the cab soon! It's a great trip! Happy Railroading!!

No, from what I gathered from the TVRM staff they offer the rides every trip. I dont think its advertised as much as the regular tickets. Its a great experience 100% recommended 🚂

That being said some days may be more competitive to get the tickets but they are offered on all Missionary Ridge Local trips. The staff was super helpful and made the experience memorable. Definitely a must do!

I would definitely check the website! Right now 4501 is the steam locomotive the TVRM is using. Southern 630 is currently being restored.

Yeah the temperature was a little warm but not too bad. The cooler temperature outside helps as the train moves. The hottest part was the tunnel.
