Vampire’s Weakness: Holy water, cross, stake in the heart Werewolf’s Weakness: Silver Bullets Jersey Devil’s Weakness: *Being repeatedly hit by a pregnant woman with a 2x4*
I am a Jerseyite, and I can confirm. We send a pregnant woman into the Pine Barrens with a 2×4 and a satellite radio to go hunt down the Jersey Devil every year. Most of them give birth before they find him, but we're still trying.
I suspect the vampire, chupacabra and jersey devil episodes scared children the most because it featured children in danger. It brings a scary realization that they themselves could end up in danger in a way normally reserved for adults. They can actually put themselves in that scenario, rather than it just happening to someone else. It's a new level of terror, seeing someone just like you in dangerous situations, especially because children are so vulnerable and helpless.
That's exactly what I was thinking; it's easier for kids to picture it happening to them if they see it happening to another kid. When I was a kid, I would have found the parasite episode creepy, but the chupacabra episode would have been terrifying. The vampire episode would have given me nightmares.
As a special makeup effects artist I miss the days the days of poorer quality cameras. This show is an excellent example of how many sins you can hide with fewer pixels
The greatest part of the Alien episode is the makeup FX used for the bed-ridden woman. Her dead body is so damn grisly, and the lo-fi quality really sparks the imagination.
Animal Planet's late night broadcasts were the most cursed shows on tv. Monsters Inside Me, that show that just literally showed videos of people getting attacked by animals, Lost Tapes, River Monsters (River monsters was super good tho). It was amazing the stuff they could get away with late at night on that channel.
@@BlackMoonlight759 that show used to scare me as a kid. Just the imagery and the fact that the people in each episode almost died really gave me nightmares
@@RoboWesker Haven't heard that title til you said it, that took my brain WAY back. I also remembered Fatal Attractions where those who were close to someone that was killed by their own exotic animals talked about them.
me too, it used to confuse me how animal planet would get the recordings after these people died and why none of these clips were making it to national news 😭
One episode I still sorta remember is the Dover Demon one, mostly the time when they pan the camera up to reveal it's just, sitting in the tree. Watching them. Also because of how intelligent it is, with the aforementioned stalking them and setting up traps to break feet and shit.
That episode was like Blair Witch and Predator mixed together, the Demon even had similar clicking noises like Predator, that night vision scene was one of the best scares in the show.
@The Caped Critique I really gotta wonder about the show and how it would do if it was remade today with what looked like bigger budgets and time for production of each episodes.
@@tonypeppermint5329 It wouldn't do well sadly. All the craze is around Bigfoot now which is why I've grown to hate Bigfoot (it's just a lame cryptid to me). Granted, I make acceptions with variants like the Sheepsquatch as that thing is always at the ready to power fist it's victims into oblivion
Clicked on this video because the title intrigued me. “Lost Tapes. Never heard of it. What’s that?” Then you played the intro, and it’s like a seal inside my mind was broken and repressed childhood trauma came flooding back into me. So thanks, I guess? Great video!
I love the parts where Wendi is talking and he's just completely drowned out by the show so I'm like getting sensory overload from all the noise happening at once but also I'm laughing

9:46 **person lying dead on the floor with their abdomen torn open and their blood and internal organs splayed out everywhere** "man crazy how the sun can do that"
To be fair, though, that’s exactly what happens when gases build up faster than they can get out. Cows and horses die from whatever, and their corpses aren’t found until a day or two later (which is just a reality), and they lay in the burning sun for 12 hours on a bright summer‘s day…. Pop! Nature is beautiful.
Me and my three best friends would DVR this show in middle school and watch it, we would then explore our small town, hunting for cryptids. We would check the sewers for lizard men, the park at night for ghosts, and the skies near the airforce base for UFOs. This show is extremely nostalgic for me
Half of me is cooing at how wholesome that is. The other half is screaming that you were the idiots who got themselves killed by going towards the scary noises in horror movies.
same here, my friend and i LOVED this show. especially because it scared the shit out of us as kids. watching it now as an adult is pretty funny and its really easy to tell its fake, but kid me ate this up lmao
@@dmwanderer9454 I mean for TV at that time you rarely saw blood besides on crime shows. I remember being surprised how bloody The Walking Dead was when it came out.
The idea of the show was genius and I'm very disappointed it hasn't been copied. A horror anthology featuring cryptids? That's is so fcking cool and I'm quite frankly mad that Lost Tapes is the only one of its kind.
@@jackmazeika5594 there was Freak Encounters, which is like staged horror scenes where the person thinks they’re looking for something else and then encounter a cryptid and get scared
I love that era of Animal Planet where they were tired of talking about animals so they just made up a whole bunch of stuff honestly brings back alot of good memories
31:11 - lmao, I’m glad you jumped at that part. It is a great jump scare as you’re absolutely not expecting the vampire to be there, and your focus is already looking back to see the other guy waving his hands. That was the part that TERRIFIED me, I would literally always check the back of cars before I got in them because of it. Strigoi Vampire is a silly episode in a lot of respects but has a legendary jump scare.
When you’re an impressionable kid and the authoritative voice at the begging of the show tells you, “you are about to witness creatures science does not recognize…” that doesn’t mean you’re about to watch a fictional show in your brain. Your 8yo brain says, “oh shit *just* got really real…”
@@louisianajones8392 until you watch again to find out exactly what caused your nightmares and laugh at how campy it is as you realize that kids are stupid and that’s ok because it made things seem more real.
This show was the shit. I remember when I was a kid waking up one night to see the end of the octopus one where they all get picked off the raft by the octopus or whatever it was and I was just like “wtf was that?”
I was scared out of my mind as a kid. I kept thinking "I can't believe no one is talking about this footage" because it seemed so real looking and believable to 9-year-old me :'D
Back in 2013 there was this show called Siberia which was another 'found footage' tv show, but what little marketing they did all suggested it was a normal Survivor-type reality TV show, and it had my whole family going for about the first episode or so if memory serves. It was honestly pretty well made and fairly creepy.
Lost tapes really felt like adult goosebumps with a documentary twist, this show was very well made.... And this show is what got me interested in stuff like cryptids and folklores. And yes, the vampire one is still extremely scary.
I remember watching one where these kids go skating at night and one of em breaks their legs. They logic their way into leaving him in the pitch black to grab a wagon to wheel him back, but when they return, he's gone. That messed me up, man.
Cave Demons with the soldiers in Afghanistan That needed to go into the the Cave systems to find a radio disturbance was probably one of the most suspenseful episodes I remember
it's clear that the vampire one is the most terrifying of all, but the dover demon episode... really underrated one and a close second to the vampires in terms of disturbing factor. just a creature staring at you in the dark
The fact that the “experts” in these videos, at least the few that I’ve looked into, are genuinely experts really surprised me when I rewatched these episodes a little while ago. They’re unironically pretty good teaching tools for kids who are into folklore and cryptids.
To be fair, some of these cryptid have a base in reality, albeit distorted by stories and folklore. One example is the Megaconda episode which was based on the Titanoboa in the fossil record, or the giant centipedes episode which are based on the IRL giant centipede but with a bigger size than them.
My Hebrew/ Dead Sea Scrolls professor in college was a "Satan Expert" on Ancient Aliens. It's honestly kind of sad that there is so little money in science/academia that they feel the need to stoop so low.

"They killed the dog, you can't do that." I swear if I recall that was this show's favorite thing to do, if the people had a dog it was pretty much guaranteed to die first.
It’s pretty common in most horror films and shows for the pet to die first. It’s weird to think about. Think about a haunting movie where the dog is alive the whole movie while people are being possessed and shit lmao idk if there is a movie like that
pet dogs are seen as symbols of innocence and loyalty so having them killed off by something or someone is used to cement the villain as malicious and enforce their status as truly evil thank you for coming to my TED talk
The episode where this family moves to an old house and there's this hole in the wall and for some reason theres a vampire in the house freaked me out so bad. The build up of that thing finally attacking frightened me as a kid. Then he proceeds to Kool-aid man through the house and attack the family
Duuuuuuude! This episode scared the actual shit out of me!!!!! The attack in the dark where he just walks over and starts to grab him, holy shit that made it impossible to sleep
Hey Wendigoon, you're like my comfort person on TH-cam and I have real bad anxiety. I'd love to see you do an iceberg of most wholesome things that ever happened, or historical events that restore faith in humanity. Also anything funny because you make me laugh
The vampire episode terrified me as a kid. When the exterminator was putting the snake cam through the wall, and the vampire opened his eyes and offed the dude? scared the hell out of me.
We have a crawl space under our house, and growing up I was 100% convinced there was a vampire nesting in there thanks to Lost Tapes. “Feral” vampires are so much more terrifying than Twilight vampires or even Dracula type vampires. Turns out it wasn’t a vampire, just mold.
love how in the first one the hikers were lost for days, but the Search and Rescue team found them in one. Which implies that they were definitely not as lost as they thought they were.
That always seemed really reasonable to me bc Bear Grylls was also on and used to talk about how people could be lost for weeks in the forest and when they're found- barely a mile or two from the main road/trail. Sometimes that foliage is just totally un-navigable for your average Joe Schmoe
Y'know the more I think about this, the more I realize why this scared me so much as a kid - besides just being a kid and extremely sensitive to jumpscares. This show was on at a time where every single other show on AP at the time was real animal and nature shows-it wasn't all aliens and conspiracy theories and reality shows like it is now. So as a little kid, I had no reason to think anything on that channel was fake. Even if stuff looked fake from time to time, in my mind, this was ANIMAL Planet. It had to be real. I believed a lot of these for a long time. It's stupid now but when I was 7, this was genuinely horrifying
I think Billiam, the TH-camr, said pretty much the same thing, and I'm inclined to agree. Apparently, AP needed shows to boost ratings, so they started putting out fake stuff like this, with *just* enough facts to make it ever so slightly more believable. Not disappointed, tbh
The alien one was pretty damn funny once the actual bug showed up, BUT the image of the woman slowly deteriorating in bed and screaming in pain? I am an adult who never watched this show before and just that alone was extremely unsettling to me. When people say this traumatized them, I'm sure they meant just that. Crazy how good special effects look while recording on a potato lol
y'know, what I realized from the actual alien is basically a Facehugger without a tail that screeches like a Jurassic Park Velociraptor. Gotta love how cheap it is
This show was so unique and cool. One of my gateways into the horror genre growing up I loved this show and a good chunk of the episodes still hold up today and are really fun.
For me, it was that final lead up to the last kill. Obviously, I knew the guy was doomed as he was called back into that house but I couldn't bring myself to watch after that point. The tension had gotten to me so badly!
16:27 The best part of the Alien Segment is that the “Alien” is using the Velociraptor sounds from Jurassic Park. (Which is a great way to let kids know it’s fake.)
Was it though??? You do know these are the same people that made a Documentary about Mermaids that grown ass adults believed hook line and sinker................ TWICE
I was scared shitless as a kid when I saw stuff like this, especially when I woke up in the middle of the night and went to the living room because the TV was left open only to find my mom sleeping on the couch, she would always watch HT and the after midnight shows of HT, like the aliens and shit, the commercials would always show up when I was trying to close the TV. I'm mentally scarred from all those jump scares I had as a kid.
the one that really got me was the giant centipede episode, where the couple gets eaten alive in their tent on a beach by a bunch of giant tropical centipedes
Even as a child I realize it that hospitals was very understaffed there was only two doctors and a security guard. So that’s episode made me realize it was fake lol
I think we should bring this show back with better production, new stories and creatures, and better scripts and stuff. I would love to see how it would turn out today.
RW:i tell you one thing dude, when it comes to myth legends scifi and fantasy i could think of so many many kinds of creatures for what LOST TAPES had forgotten on other cryptids and creatures that are not even mentioned yet.😁
But if they were to, they should try and make it better than all there other ones. But highly doubt this will ever even be brought back, let alone acknowledged
Me and my sister watched that episode when we both were very young and would be scared to death for weeks afterwards And dont get started on the cave demon episode
It's a miracle a video with audio mixing like this could get a million and a half views lmao Wendigoon really struck gold in every respect with this channel
I remember having such a large hyper-fixation on cryptids and scary stories as a kid, I would sneak into the living room at 3am to watch Lost Tapes. That one where the vampire climbs out of the closet? It gave me horrific night terrors my parents finally had to say "Yeah, let's not do that anymore." Watching it now makes me loose my shit lmaoo
My sister and I watched it when it was briefly on early Netflix in 2010 and that vampire episode made us sleep with Xmas lights around our beds for MONTHS bc we were terrified of the vampire thinking we were easy pickings 🤣🤣🤣
In high school I lived with my grandparents in their 125 year old farmhouse. The basement was just unfinished concrete and shit, and had a backroom that my grandma stored jarred fruit and random other stuff. The stairs were wooden with no bottom, like you could see through the stairs. Well, the washer and dryer were in the basement. So every single time I had to do laundry in high school, I’d be sprinting like a fool up the stairs after watching that vampire episode. That house was creepy as fuck. We used to hear footsteps on the third floor. It was like an attic as it wasn’t insulated and didn’t have ventilation, it was an old house. The floors used to creek all the time late at night. And you’d hear things when you were home alone. I never really saw anything or whatever but you just had a gut feeling sometimes that something was wrong or off. That house seriously still scares me when I end up in it alone while visiting my grandparents even at 25.
Also Wendi absolutely ripping these episodes to shreds is the best thing I've ever seen! 😂🤣😂🤣😂 "Why would you leave the car?", "she came at it with a BOARD??? oh wait... she WON?!?!", "congrats lady you've just killed an incalculable number of ppl, best Dr ever...", "why would you go back that was clearly a death noise!", "(announcer:) what you're about to see is disturbing. Lost Tapes was Terrifying to me as a child, but no other episode horrified me like the Vampire episode did. I still get chills watching that episode back as a 22 year old woman 💀
The one that terrified me, and ultimately made me give up wanting to be an astronaut as a kid, was the one with the parasite coming out of the lady. It freaked me the fuck out, especially since I was, and still am, deathly afraid of spiders.
God, the latter you talked about in the same comment was a nostalgic masterpiece! Easily one of my personal favorite animated films I watched in my childhood.
wait is that the one where the chipmunks were ripping chunks out of a live pregnant woman’s back? If it is, i was horrified to even watch tv again for 2 weeks :/
An episode that messed me up as a kid was when I randomly tuned into Animal Planet not knowing Lost Tapes was a thing, and the episode covered this survivalist being hunted by a giant monitor lizard(?) And he's like, slowly loosing his shit throughout the episode because he also got poisoned by it.
The komono dragon one if i remember ends or one of the last scenes is the guy covered in blood after getting bit in the leg? And the dragon is doing that drool thing that komono dragons do but it was like 10 feet long and also was bloody.
Fake or not, you can't deny how brilliant and realistic their acting looks. I love how they build up the haunting atmosphere as well. Plus, the way they did not reveal much of their unclear mysterious thing that appeared in front of their camera. They look terrifying, unsettling & disturbing. Not to mentioned the narrator did a great job. Gonna love his voice narration :). It look so realistic & pretty much unsettling that people may have thought they were real back then. Lost Tapes stand for its own. Much better than most of the found footage horror film out there. Love their camera works too. Not even the like of Blair Witch-type movie could scared the shit out of me like Lost Tapes did. The Wendigo and Hellhound episode alone gives me a chill up a spine
The ending of the werewolf episode really scared me as a kid. The whole time it’s these 2 cops who are in this woman’s house and she’s bloody and said this man in her house attacked her. The whole time you’re set up to think the man must be the werewolf, until the cops split up and one cop finds the man dead and like gored, while the other cop is with the girl that you now realize is the werewolf

I got swine flu one fall as a kid and was out of school and bedridden for like a week. One day, while flipping through channels, I found this show and watched three episodes that scarred me for years. The Chupacabra, Death Raptor, and giant octopus episodes absolutely ruined my childhood. For like 5 years I suffered from sleep paralysis because I was too scared to sleep on my side or stomach because I wouldn't be able to see if the chupacabra was trying to attack me. I'd sleep with my blankets up to my neck, surrounded by stuffed animals, so that it couldn't drink the blood from my exposed neck. When I had to go to the school bus in the dawn, I'd run with my eyes to the sky because I thought a raptor was going to swoop down and get me.
the loch ness monster one really freaked me out as a kid. that scene when the woman falls off the boat and you can see the monster under her circling the boat still freaks me out to this day...
This shit is awesome. The jumpscare near the beginning with the Windigo killing the cameraman is amazing. I can't believe they made this. Characters are getting brutally murdered, and eaten, for children entertainment. Boss.

The episode with the alien and the octopus were so terrified, they became OCD compulsions for me when i was little. I would avoid dust so I wouldn't become "pregnant" with an alien, and refused to swim in lakes.
The most terrifying things in lakes are microscopic or very small. Small bugs and microbes that infect you. A Muskie eats one of your toes, hurts but you’ll be okay. You get a brain eating amoeba from lake water up your nose and you’re 99% guaranteed to be ended.
As a kid, Lost Tapes was HORRIFYING. The scariest episode for me was the alien one. The insect bug thing flew out the front door! I was scared it was STILL OUT THERE Lmao kids are dumb.
It's funny you say that because that's the only episode I can still remember that and the episode with the Yeti in the shipping container I really thought that thing was still just flying around in the wild
My family used to live by the sea when I was a kid so when I watches that Monterey Monster episode I was scared it would peer into our house lol. That was just the beginning. Notable episodes included: Poltergeist, Alien, Jersey Devil, Lizard Man and Devil Monkey.

The mom squaring up to the Jersey Devil reminds me of a movie where, after running out of weapons, a guy just straight up fist fights a werewolf and almost wins.
Wow Lost Tapes was ahead of its time. "This house doesn't work" clearly aluding to the future of smart homes and alexa devices continuously locking us out of our homes. The man getting yanked into the wall being a metaphor for our descent into the depths of technology, and the vampire is the newer and newer tech feeding on our very lives, sustaining the devices.
It's honestly kind of sad that there is so little money in science/academia that they feel the need to stoop so low.

love how in the first one the hikers were lost for days, but the Search and Rescue team found them in one.
@@skylerhall1537 Bear Grylls likes to "survive in the wilderness" 500 yards from tourist destinations. He's a fraud.

I think I believed it was real for the same reason. Didn't they have some kinda ghost show too? I took *everything* Animal Planet said as fact 😅
Good to know that I’m not the only one who was completely terrified by this show as a kid
See I was terrified that all the crypids were in my room looking at me while I tried to sleep, debating how to murder me.
Damn I never got that scared, but I was scared nonetheless.
I had Swine Flu too. We're pig brothers
F
the loch ness monster one really freaked me out as a kid. that scene when the woman falls off the boat and you can see the monster under her circling the boat still freaks me out to this day...
Monster of Monterey
@@cobaltbluestickman5557 Yes! That's the one, and now I have to go watch it...😮💨
I watched this episode after my friend fell asleep at a sleepover and it scared me so much and I still think about it now
Omg! Yes!!! That was the scariest one to me! 😭😭
Exactly!! That one was horrifying. Something about the ocean being vast and very possibly home to anything just shakes me to my core
This shit is awesome. The jumpscare near the beginning with the Windigo killing the cameraman is amazing. I can't believe they made this. Characters are getting brutally murdered, and eaten, for children entertainment.
Boss.
I mean, its not for children. Animal Planet is an all-ages network, and I'm pretty sure the rating for Lost Tapes was TV-14
Well these aired at like 1 am so kids weren’t supposed to be watching, like how on Cartoon Network adult swim comes on at night
@@SissypheanCatboy i mean a 14 year old is still technically considered a child in most places
They should've never stopped this show or should do a revamp of the series, I remember always being scared when the episodes came on, I now rewatch them all the time
The worst thing about the Chupacabra is that everyone thinks it's Mexican but it comes from Puerto Rico
That’s the worst thing lol?
Honestly the Puerto Rican chupacabra is more badass
Isn’t it like a giant bipedal reptilian with red eyes and spikes.
Guilty
@@pugasaurusrex8253 There isn't much of a difference, the reptilian thing is only one interpretation, you still have the hairless dog variant over there
@@hyperion3145 Am Puertorrican, yeah we have the crappy dog thing here too but only after the Americans and Mexicans popularized that version. Our OG winged bipedal alien cryptid was WAY cooler than that lame bootleg.
The alien parasite one fked me up. Lady goes into space and comes back and starts acting weird. Eventually she gets a face hugger jump out of her and fly out the front door Of the hospital
Ditto wanted to be an astronaut as a kid and that screwed me up
Bro when I watched that episode I was legitimately scared that it was still out there but now I know that it’s not
Dude I watched that episode one morning on a day I took off school and legit ruined my entire day off. I didn’t sleep at all that night. That one close up shot of the woman’s face covered in all that shit after the alien escaped still gives me chills
The thing that got me was the cut aways not the scares. Made me think it was real and ooooooh man wad i terrified of going outside for a week
Yo as a kid I swear I thought that shit was real too I was so fucked man I cried my brother told me it was in our home town flying around lmao
The only one that actually scared me was the vampire one, I double check crawl spaces everywhere now
The episode with the alien and the octopus were so terrified, they became OCD compulsions for me when i was little. I would avoid dust so I wouldn't become "pregnant" with an alien, and refused to swim in lakes.
The lake octopus one had me in stitches from the utter bs of it all.
if feel you man I've got OCD to and was already terrified of aliens and I'm so glad I didn't see these when I was little.
The most terrifying things in lakes are microscopic or very small. Small bugs and microbes that infect you. A Muskie eats one of your toes, hurts but you’ll be okay. You get a brain eating amoeba from lake water up your nose and you’re 99% guaranteed to be ended.
Alien got me a little bit
As a kid, Lost Tapes was HORRIFYING. The scariest episode for me was the alien one. The insect bug thing flew out the front door! I was scared it was STILL OUT THERE
Lmao kids are dumb.
It's funny you say that because that's the only episode I can still remember that and the episode with the Yeti in the shipping container I really thought that thing was still just flying around in the wild
I didn't sleep for days
Dude same here
My family used to live by the sea when I was a kid so when I watches that Monterey Monster episode I was scared it would peer into our house lol. That was just the beginning. Notable episodes included: Poltergeist, Alien, Jersey Devil, Lizard Man and Devil Monkey.
I thought the Plesiosaur episode was the most depressing because she was on her way home after literal months alone at sea and she was just trying to help those other sailors.
honestly, i was young when I saw that episode and knew it was fake, but I still felt bad for her since she was gonna return to her boyfriend or husband
@@TMCNM bullshit you did no child could possibly comprehend a show being fake
Oh, I remember that one. That one freaked me out in particular, because I have some kinda weird phobia that sets off when I can't tell how much of my vision is obscured, like in water, darkness, or fog.
@@landrylongacre6391
I dunno, man. I knew some of these episodes were obviously fake. As a kid, I saw the Hellhound episode and genuinely laughed at how they tried to sell me this shit
this show horrified me SO much as a kid. the fact that you started with the wendigo episode is so great hahaha, that was the one that stuck with me the most. when i was little that was the one that gave me nightmares & had me terrified of the woods in my backyard. such a terrifying bit of nostalgia
I'm a college student enrolled in a film school who absolutely loved the show growing up. Long story short, I was actually lucky enough to get an interview with the shows creator AND a very close friend to the show's creator (his role was a consultant in writing and producing). Specifically with the consultant I was able to watch the first episode of the show with him and give commentary. Super chill man, grabbed a beer and joked along while watching the episode, giving nice into of behind the scenes info and all. And yes I still have a the footage but never got around to editing a cut together because...well the short answer, life.
YO Holy shit that's cool af!!!!! You should post it though! I think it'll be a cool 'meet your heros' for those who watched this show and got scarred as kids, lmao
Plz edit that together. Sounds amazing.
RW:Lucky ;B-)👍
You told us about it now you have to edit it 😠
The people need to see this
The first episode I watched as a kid was about the Thunderbird but it was already a few minutes in and I didn't see the part where they said the show was fake. I still remember having nightmares for weeks.
Kinda crazy how easy it was to scare us as kids. The internet has desensitized people to such a degree that this show is just comical now
A revival with a high budget would be amazing and would probably scare the shit out of everyone.
Yea I use to get scared from the finding Bigfoot show and now my brother (age 6) doesn't even flinch when the cat in the hat comes on screen
@@prodimusfilms562 I’m in highschool and the live-action Cat in the Hat still makes me feel uncomfortable
If this scared you „as a kid“ and no longer does „now“… it just proves you‘re an adult now, looking back. Why would you expect a kids‘ show to scare an adult? I don‘t follow the logic.
@@fulcrum6760 honestly I would pay to watch a movie adaptation of the Alien episode. I feel like you could make a plot about how all of the members of the ship are patient 0's and are used to start an invansion of bug aliens
“Scream to let it know where you are.” This line dude
“Mom.. what is this place???” *leans in and whispers* “it’s a crack house”
“I tell youh hwhat”
Ok so I'm not the only one that loved this show. The only thing that sucked was that I was so scared to watch it alone because I really thought it was based on real found footage. Great show and it also got me into cryptozoology
Brooo faxx, one time I was watching with my bros and they knew I was scared. So they jump scared me from around a corner
Brush same, but I was terrified all the time by this show but I loved it
Same bruh
Watched it with my siblings and cousins, we all thought it was real lmao. These memories make me wanna go back tbh.
Nothing is scarier than the guy turning on night vision during the Dover Demon episode 😭
RIGHT?!
Came here for this haha
The mom squaring up to the Jersey Devil reminds me of a movie where, after running out of weapons, a guy just straight up fist fights a werewolf and almost wins.
Is that Dog Soldiers? Pretty sure a guy tries to one-on-one knife fight a werewolf in that one.
@@PhoenicopterusR YES that's the one!
@@James11111 love me some Dog Soldiers. Not exactly a 10/10 movie, but there's something about it that's just fun.
We need a movie where it's just a football player or someone that just goes toe to toe with a monster and wins
That reminds me of Monster Hunters: International
DAD GETS IT 🥰 12:11 (periods suck bro😭)
Wow Lost Tapes was ahead of its time. "This house doesn't work" clearly aluding to the future of smart homes and alexa devices continuously locking us out of our homes. The man getting yanked into the wall being a metaphor for our descent into the depths of technology, and the vampire is the newer and newer tech feeding on our very lives, sustaining the devices.
No joking now, love the shitty B movie quality. I would have been terrified of this show as a kid, but now I'm falling in love.
I now want to redo the video but just say things like that
@@Wendigoon I, for one, would watch the shit out of that
I... i thought it was a fever dream
Youre telling me this show existed?!
Yup.
The real lost tape
Scary ones as a kid were The cave one with the military guys, the skin walker, and the survival man with the lizard in the jungle. Great times
Cave Demons
Skinwalker
Devil Dragon
Are the ones you are thinking of.
The lattermost one actually could be real as it's based on the Megalania (Big fucking Komodo Dragon), and the latest dated remains of one was only a few centuries ago, and considering Australia….yeah
the jungle one fucked me up! i didn't sleep all night
Cave Demons really messed me up as a kid. I just thought it was so believable since it involved military guys and it terrified me.
Vampires made me not want to sleep because of that one scene of the vampire creeping into the kid's room at night.
Fuck that lizard, fuck
Thanks for giving a shout out to my boy Fresno Nightcrawler. He’s just a funky fella.
He really did try to make me feel stupid for being scared of the Chupacabra and Alien episode but a guy in party city fangs is what he had nightmares about🤚💀
it startled me, but i found it goofy
I literally developed a permanent irrational fear of plesiosaurs/dinosaurs in general because of this show. That was the most disturbing and terrifying thing I ever could’ve ever seen, being alone on the open water and stalked by a long neck ass bullshit creature
The episode when that chick fell off the boat and it floated away always stuck with me.
@@Solodolo84 seeing the creature swimming under her scared me so much
There’s a certain tingling in your spine you get when imagining sometjing swimming under you. Fucking TERRIFYING
They seriously need to bring this show back, was definitely terrifying as a kid, but feels good to look back on it :^)
bet it entertained parents more to 😂
The real scare is us thinking it was actually real, definitely contributed to my nightmares
The gender euphoria of him saying, “come on son” had me almost cry 🥹 2:07
My man looks like that one senior on the football team that is really nice and sticks up for freshmen that get bullied. He also frequently gives people rides to the youthgroups he goes to.
That makes me feel nice, thank you
@@Wendigoon oh yeah well i think you look like a bearded young paul mccartney
That is the best and specific compliment ever
I was watching the Jersey Devil episode and i was already under the covers trying to hide from the tv. At the part where it kicks down the door my mom opened my door and i screamed and started crying
Sorry but that is kind of hilarious
The Poltergeist and the wendigo scared the hell out of me as a kid. The alien one got to me as well, but that was only because of the disgusting skin rash.
They went ALL IN on the special effects for that episode.
@@andrewthomasprism9388how "realistic" the skin rash looked compared to everything else surprised me a bit
Not to mention the alien had the Jurassic Park raptor screech lol
There was a poltergeist one?
The owl man still scares me. Gave me a fear of owls for life.
Oh my goodness, I remember watching the vampire episode as a kid and it's haunted me ever since. My old house had the attic ladder right outside my bedroom door, and for years I was terrified that a vampire would come down. I'm so glad I finally know what the show is and can now laugh at the episode that haunted my childhood
