I would not be upset, if I was the GT500 owner. This was a driver’s race. Basically needed to be in the right gear, then Let the car do the rest. But overall, the German’s will have better top end gearing.

You do realize the Porsche wasn’t even in its best runs either right? The reality is that the Porsche has a much higher top speed the reality is that the higher the speeds the more the gap increases a gt500 is nowhere near a 911 turbo s if they were both running their best times
Shelby was pulling in the 2nd run. Both cars are good. Both have DCT transmissions. gT500 has a better power to weight ratio btw. Don't be fanboy and appreciate all cars

It hurts my eyes to see the Porsche owner using an Escort passport 9500ix. I purchased two of them new in May 2009, they are not bad, decent range but one single antenna (forward only), I stopped using them 3 years ago. These guys need to be rolling with Valentine 1 Gen 2, Uniden R7 /R8 or the Escort redline 360 (not just the 360). These last ones that I mentioned they all have forward and rear antennas and the escort 360 Redline comes with two antennas forward and 1 antenna rear plus Wifi, GPS and Bluetooth. If you guys want to play safer then get PLX laser phasers or Escort 9500CI laser phasers(jammers). I go out once in a while with a 4 multiport cigarette lighter 12vdc port and I plug them all at once. in the best case scenario I get 2.4 mile distance signal on a good visibility road but it ramps up. The best part is that they alert from rear too.
That was a lot closer than I thought, the Gt500 hung on much better than I thought it would. I'd much rather have the 911 though, for me it's much better looking, much better handling around corners, and just a much better quality car.
GT500 owner here… who also use to live in Germany… German cars are geared for autobahn. Generally can’t touch em after 100. I remember a Golf R was pulling me on the autobahn in my GT350. Respect.

The 1987 LX 5.0 weighted 3000lbs only option it had was a rear window defroster mandatory in NY we got it into the high 13' stock which was right there with the Grand National on a cold day. It was a close race but where the Porsche separates itself from the competition is on the track. It also costs more than twice as much as the Shelby which offers a better bang for your buck. I’d be very happy to own either one of these incredible machines.
Very close run. I've been called out by a stock 2019 turbo S here in Australia to run at a designated roll racing event. Basically a short roll starting at 40mph to around 130mph. If I get traction I'm hoping my 780whp 10r80 whippled stang takes the W:)

I have the gt500 track pack. 100 lbs lighter then the standard gt500. I wonder if it would perform better?? Its impressive that the gt500 stock vs stock is still in the race. The 911 is a better all around car but hats off to the gt500.
Porsche gets the a better takeoff first roll, second roll the Shelby gets a better takeoff, 45 roll the Porsche is a couple miliseconds behind on takeoff and still walks it.

That’s Porsche engineering for ya. Yes, the Turbo S does make more power from the factory then the factory claims, but so does the GT500 🤷♂️. It’s still amazing that the 911 Turbo S is as fast as it is from a roll given it is AWD. Porsche just knows the “secret sauce” for every model they make, boosted or not, hence why they’re so expensive.

That’s was pretty good roll racing but they where pretty close from 55mph to 130 and being lighter helps a lot
Gt500 has a better power to weight despite being heavier also its rear wheel drive and it still lost to the all wheel drive Porsche
I have the gt500 track pack. 100 lbs lighter then the standard gt500. I wonder if it would perform better?? Its impressive that the gt500 stock vs stock is still in the race. The 911 is a better all around car but hats off to the gt500.
Porsche gets the a better takeoff first roll, second roll the Shelby gets a better takeoff, 45 roll the Porsche is a couple miliseconds behind on takeoff and still walks it.

Turbo s is just unbeatable when doing stock vs stock especially at lower speed. Gt500 really only has a chance once u start getting over 120mph. From a dig it would of been embarrassing. Id of liked to see that 😂 Good races though.

Looks like the 911 was in Sport Plus which puts the aero all the way up. Tell him to run it in Sport wjth the aero off, it will be quicker.

That’s Porsche engineering for ya. Yes, the Turbo S does make more power from the factory then the factory claims, but so does the GT500 🤷♂️. It’s still amazing that the 911 Turbo S is as fast as it is from a roll given it is AWD. Porsche just knows the “secret sauce” for every model they make, boosted or not, hence why they’re so expensive.
Gt500 should have run that second race out to 160+ was in the lead. Had a good start etc

Gt500s are underrated making 800+ hp to the crank the hp is more like 200 difference even on paper the gt500 has 5.5 pounds per hp the turbo s is 5.8 pounds per hp meaning the gt500 has an even more bigger power to weight advantage
