The fourteenth, and final, track off of Justin Currie's newest album, "The Great War." Enjoy! Currie, Justin. "What You're Looking At." The Great War. New York: Rykodisc, Inc., 2010.
You’re fading away, your leaving shadow floats across the street Your clothes in the fire, they dance a little then just fall asleep You couldn’t stand it on your own So you collected men and made them mad, well that’s fine But baby, I was bad You should’ve figured what I was before you left And now you’re left with what you’re looking at I wait by the wall, and watch your windows coughing out it all First the pages of the books then those portraits you had hanging in the hall You couldn’t stand it on your own So you collected men and made them mad, well that’s fine But baby, I was bad You should’ve figured what I was before you left And now you’re left with what you’re looking at A shell for a shell, a life for a life You said farewell with the slice of a knife So if a lover fights fire with fire Then ain’t that like for like? You couldn’t stand it on your own So you collected me and made me mad, well that’s fine But baby, I was bad You should’ve figured what I was before you left And now you're left with what you’re looking at
Why this isn’t in an album is beyond me , in my heart the war goes on, Fred partingtons daughter, ect ect there is a. Brilliant album of B sides 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻😊
What a great album. Of course. JC is such a damn good writer!! Anyone know how to get the bonus tracks on hard copy(CD). Bought the disc but the bonus tracks are not on it.
Great song
You’re fading away, your leaving shadow floats
across the street
Your clothes in the fire, they dance a little then
just fall asleep
You couldn’t stand it on your own
So you collected men and made them mad, well
that’s fine
But baby, I was bad
You should’ve figured what I was before you left
And now you’re left with what you’re looking at
I wait by the wall, and watch your windows
coughing out it all
First the pages of the books then those portraits
you had hanging in the hall
You couldn’t stand it on your own
So you collected men and made them mad, well
that’s fine
But baby, I was bad
You should’ve figured what I was before you left
And now you’re left with what you’re looking at
A shell for a shell, a life for a life
You said farewell with the slice of a knife
So if a lover fights fire with fire
Then ain’t that like for like?
You couldn’t stand it on your own
So you collected me and made me mad, well
that’s fine
But baby, I was bad
You should’ve figured what I was before you left
And now you're left with what you’re looking at
One of my favourites
As usual big chap, you cover every angle of life, and relationships, dogs
Why this isn’t in an album is beyond me , in my heart the war goes on, Fred partingtons daughter, ect ect there is a. Brilliant album of B sides 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻😊
