Your whole rant about the 6months away issue with planning your wedding is the whole struggle I am going through with planning my own wedding. My fiance and I have been engaged for over a year now and we haven't even set a date, it'll all just so much to try to plan especially since i'm still getting my degree. Just... UGH!!! I know what I want but just not how to get it. So basically thanks so much for posting this cause this helped a little lol
Talisha Bills It took us some time to set a date and I only really started to make it a priority after I watched a movie Catch and Release and didn't want to put it off anymore.
My husband and I got engaged and planned a wedding in 3 months. However, when our families and us had disagreements on finances and other wedding decisions, our wedding fell apart and we had to replan our entire wedding in ONE WEEK. And we did it, and it was amazing. People of all ages told us afterwards it was the most fun wedding they'd ever attended. Don't focus so much on the details, focus on giving people and yourself a good time, because people aren't going to remember the details of the day... they're only going to remember how they felt about it. We had sooo many people try to give us advice, and at the end of the day, we just focused on basically throwing an amazing party and everyone ended up loving it. It wasn't the most glamorous wedding ever (it wasn't ugly either though lol), but really no one noticed that my flowers were fake or that I bought my dress a week ago. They were too busy eating delicious tacos and dancing to a seriously bomb DJ. That's just my 2 cents! In other news, my husband and I celebrated our two year anniversary yesterday and our first daughter is two weeks old as of today! Wishing you the best and that married life will be as great for you as well as it's been me. :)

Hey Becky you are definitily not alone in that process. I am getting married at the end of this month and i had 9 months to prepare my wedding. I was lucky to find my dress pretty early in the process. But i agree that this short span of time is not a lot to plan one day!! Which is crazy! I have had too people questioning my decision for that day (from the music, to the bigger details) and the important thing i found was to discuss it with your fiance. I am lucky to have a fiance that is super in the planning of the wedding, not just helping, it's his wedding too and people might tend to forget that!! Just discuss with him and as long as you are both on the same page, this is what is important. Don't forget, whatever happen, at the end of this adventure, you are getting married!! Can't wait to see what you will do and i am sure, whatever you'll think of will be pretty awesome. Oh and you will look gorgeous in the dress you decided on!! Congrat!! Enjoy your wedding!! I will definitly enjoy mine. :)

I went through all this wedding planning 6 years ago. Been married 5 years. Never talk wedding planning with people. Everyone wants to give you advice. You go with what your gut wants. You do what you feel is right in your heart. When I was wedding planning my sister was also getting married that same year. She was giving me advice that was so overwhelming. I had to plan my wedding the way I felt in my heart our wedding should be. My wedding cost way under $10,000. I got really creative with the things I found in my bedroom. My color of my bedroom was my inspiration for my wedding... lavender. I owned white picture frames that happen to match the theme for my wedding. I used them as table decor. Anything around my room that was lavender was also used in my wedding. My guest book I owned and it happened to match my wedding. The pens for the book, were just really nice fountain pens that I too also already owned. I even made table stands out tree branches that my dad had outside. Cost for that project was free. It was so much fun planning and doing all the DIY projects. I bought a wedding dress that I could afford. My parents gave us a little money to help out with our wedding. Everything else, was up to us. We didn't have to sacrifice anything for our wedding either. We had a church wedding. I had a great wedding photographer who was in our budget. We also had a cater who was in our budget as well. We had a DJ too. I also bought my wedding dress at a local dress shop which was a great way to support the town I lived in. I was able to take home the dress I wanted that day. I could try on every dress she had in her store. Small store but it was well worth going into it. Anyways, that is my story. One day I would love to create a website sharing all my ideas on I made the wedding of my dreams. Good luck on your wedding planning. Always do what is right in your heart.
I love the dress! I actually worked in a bridal shop for 6 years and this just made me miss it so much seeing your experience! You worry about changing your mind in that timeframe but honestly in my experience brides can pick 2/3 years ahead and they still love their dress, the one is the one!

I love the dress! I actually worked in a bridal shop for 6 years and this just made me miss it so much seeing your experience! You worry about changing your mind in that timeframe but honestly in my experience brides can pick 2/3 years ahead and they still love their dress, the one is the one!
