- Hi! 💙⬇ Here is a piece of art inspired by the Labradorite stone. I wanted more depth so I came up with the idea of having a gold base canvas. I really like the outcome.

The good leaf ground seems to give it a real ethereal look. I was expecting you to rub away some of the layers in certain areas to reveal the underlying gold. Really interesting artwork. Thanks for sharing 🙏
That is absolutely stunning! I love how luminous it is with the gold leaf underlay. And you might not have realised, but you’ve captured an image of a spirit in your abstract - when it’s up the way you painted most of it, the coloured parts of the labradorite form the shape of a man facing to the left. The face profile is actually quite detailed. It’s amazing to me how many human faces appear in abstracts. Almost like they’re a window between us & the spirit world 🤔🤷♀️

Yes, I thought of that too! Maybe the spirit world tries to communicate via some abstract work of art. I know that in my art this is the case. The realm of light gives me the inspiration and drive to make my pieces. 😉👌🤍

Labradorite is my favorite stone for its complexity, colors, and the way it changes with the light and the angle from which you look at it. It is a magical and mysterious stone. Your painting is absolutely beautiful and an inspiring representation of the beauty of labradorite.
Would really love to see this with a few layers of resin or encaustic wax over the surface to add to the depth of the piece & the way the light reflects from the gold. Even though it’s stunning as it is. I used to make glass mosaics & would first do a layer of mirror glass to reflect light through the coloured glass layer. I wish I could buy this piece. I shall at least enjoy the image via YT 😊 Thank you

Thanks so much for showing your g😂old leaf technique. Others I have seen cover the canvas with gold leaf but the lines of the squares show thru the finished piece. This is so much more professional. The canvas itself is a work of art.
