I've waited 2 years for a Note phone and I'm currently waiting for it in the mail...but, I'm not gonna lie: Apple really did get me eyeing the iPhone X. My music has been my most prized possession, and having an iPhone would just be a bonus for my iTunes library.
I may have a Note 8, but, I will NEVER say the iPhone is a bad phone. My advice to anyone is this: whatever you chose, be happy knowing you've got a great phone in your pocket...no matter who's logo it says on the back.

So when you have the two smartphone in your hands you can see the difference when you have in your right hand the iPhone x and you have the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 in your right hands you feel the difference when you have a a good smartphones and I think that note 8 it's the difference in this year

I am ok with any iphone phones. I like to use not just my iTunes Library but my Podcast. Could not live without them. Survived without them when I was on Note some years ago but I missed my iTunes and Podcast. Anyway, both phones work so why fret about who's better.

*What I like on Note 8:*
1- You can select ANY page and extract whatever text you see in text format using the pen. (live translation is a use). Right now I can easily select+copy your video title or any comments using the pen.
2- You can hard-press the home button even on full screen videos to get back to home page.
3- Bixby just kills Siri. TH-cam it. (Bixby + Google Assist)
4- Multy windows feature is so useful. I can do my stuff while watching TH-cam or being on a video call. Fascinating!
5- Samsung Pay works on almost all credit card readers even those that do not support NFC.
6- Iris scanner to unlock the phone even in absolute darkness.
7- A lot more that iPhone is not even close!

    • @RemixedVoice

no, because face id is infinitely less convenient, and you gain nothing from there not being a fingerprint scanner, Samsung is smart and has face id and fingerprint to appease everyone :)

HDR is a technology to compress the dynamic range of a source that has a wider range into a recording/presenting technology with a narrower dynamic range. The first important question to answer is, what is the dynamic range, not just the luminescence. The better dynamic range of the display, the less HDR processing we need.

My $900 Ryzen 1600 computer does 3813 SC and 17811 MC scores on Geekbench, just saying.
Note 8 can do portrait photos with the front facing camera, it does not allow to change the blur, though.
I can use the Spen with whatever app just as fine. It is, of course, optimized for Samsung apps, but I do use it with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, some games, Google Keep, Google Chrome. It is not just a stylus, it is a really useful tool developed for the Note.

Question: being that Samsung by default drastically turns down the resolution of the phone to 2220x1080 (far below the 2436x1125 on the iPhone) and turns down the brightness of the screen to 80% of capacity at maximum (and actually prompts users with a safety warning if they try to manually set it above 90%) all just to make the battery actually last a full day... in real world use does the Samsung display actually have any major advantages over the iPhone X?
And I think you drastically downplayed the importance of HDR10 and Dolby Vision in terms of reproducing true to life colours. I know Samsung has its own HDR standard but it's not a positive. In fact it's actually been one of the major criticisms against Samsung screens for years. Their colour calibration is horrible.
The guys over at The Verge (which is one of the largest and most respected tech sites in the US) who got a hands on with the iPhone X at the keynote have already stated on record that the iPhone X has by far the best OLED screens they've ever seen on a phone based on image sharpness, colour gamut and colour accuracy.

    • @kiing.official
      @kiing.official 7 ปีที่แล้ว

uhm yes it does actually. There would be contracts in place to ensure that Apple gets the best displays possible with huge penalties if they don't abide by the terms of the contract. Samsung made more money than Apple did last quarter based entirely on the fact that Apple paid up front for all the displays for the iPhone X. Why would Samsung Display want to piss off their largest customer? That doesn't make any sense. Don't understand much about business do you?
      *Also their not they're

    • @brandonpierce4472

KIING ahhhhh we've got a grammar policeman on the post, fantastic sir, nothing really pushes home a point like correcting somebody's grammar on TH-cam right? Lol magnificent, CLEARLY shows your butthurt about the truth, Apple's "Super Retina" Display is not as good as Samsung's Quad HD and the specifications show that, so this theory that Samsung gave Apple better displays is a completely ridiculous notion and I'll kindly dismiss your business jab since your Apple fandom has you seeing life through sheepish lenses. Bless your heart.

Battery size depends on battery usage, such as the note 8 will need more battery for it's brighter screen and inefficiency compared to iPhone that's why it has more ram as well. For instance I have a laptop and is slowed down a lot a lot and I hardly use it, my buddy has a old MacBook and it's lasted longer, it's slow but mine slowed down within the 1st year or less (I used for typing essays @ school)... this is why I'm converting to apple to give it a shot. Don't get me wrong apple always offers less than android / PC but maybe that's it's advantage, less traffic = less virus potential. Just my $0.02 take it with a grain of salt....

I wish Apple would make their phones a bit thicker and put a decent battery in them. I have to charge my iPhone 7 twice a day sometimes. I have an iPhone SE as a backup, and the battery lasts much longer on that.

I went to get some quotes on note 8 and iPhone yesterday and for where I am in Japan the note 8 is crazy expensive each month. So as much as I like it I cant justify that expense for something that I make a few calls on send text messages and check social media. Its just a rip off.

Note 8. Awesome review! However your conclusions on which phone to buy at the end were flawed and confusing. Most People are watching this video for a great comparison to make a decision, now, on either or. Suggestions on a product(s) that are 2018 makes no sense in my opinion.

Honestly, performance is much better? At what point does it get useless. I mean, you aren't doing anything that intensive on your phone. If it was desktops or even laptops, newer games are getting heavier therefore more performance are great, or you're doing media production or something and faster PCs save you time. I have a SD 835 in my OnePlus and I don't even think I need it. The RAM is super duper nice but even the S7 is fast enough for me. One thing about the OnePlus 5 is that it has great battery life due to a large battery and a lower resolution display and it's a life saver. If iPhones had a decent battery life, they might have had me but when there is the Razer Phone with 4000 mAh at $700, that's what matters to me more than animated poop emojis.

iPhone X: for 60 dollars more than the note 8 you get this:
    iPhone X: Slow motion 1080p 240fps Galaxy note 8: Slow motion 720p 240fps
    iPhone X: 4K 60 FPS Galaxy note 8: 4K 30 FPS
iPhone X: Clean Galaxy note 8: Bloatware
iPhone X benchmark: 10000(Which is faster than the MacBook Pro) Galaxy note 8 benchmark: 4000
Note: I know that the galaxy note 8 has six gigabytes of ram but bloatware takes a lot away and iOS is better implemented in iPhones

GeekBench "single core score" over twice as high? With (a) Moore's Law in mind that should be possible, however ... (b) Apple's software may be more efficiently coded. Or (c) some optimizations in may fool Geekbench. Long, long time ago, a C (programming language) compiler (translating source code into machine code) that had to translate "for variable x is 1 to var x is 10,000, do nothing", would generate a control flow that would make a loop run 10,000 times. Then optimizing compilers would approach this more intelligently: they translated into "variable i is 10,000", thus skipping 10,000 iterations and raising one variable's value. All of a sudden it seemed new computers that required new compilers were a heck of a lot faster. I would want to see real life comparisons with similar programs running similar tasks. Until having seen that, this is just a comparison of theoretical specs. Still, the presentation is very nice.

OLED will never come to other Apple models. Apple is deprecating the 8(7S) to push everyone to the higher price X (which s/b the 8). This is actually a price shifting scheme.
