For sure. This race was a crazy No Prep where they started from the finish line and went towards the starting line. So there was no rubber down there at all.
It's easier to put back together after the wall advertises a yard sale for it if there's no paint. Plus it blends in with all the primer cars that ran all day before he got a pass.
What boosted gt that slides on the drag strip pretty strange anyways big chief needs to upgrade the car with a new really fast motor maybe supercharged a new paintjob because i see a lot of black cars and Last but not least a new wing agree with me? but as always good video ;-)ps what s next? ;-)

I’ve watched all the tv shows and I’ve watched a bunch of TH-cam videos and I still don’t get it... why only 1/8 mile? Isn’t real drag racing supposed too be 1/4 mile ? Back in the 60s 70s when I was a kid seeking into the local track (Pacific Raceway Park) it was nothing but 1/4mi, Is this a southern thing or what?
It isn't real drag racing, it is simulated "Street Racing". There is no prep put down on the track, and with this track there is no rubber on the road at all because they are starting from the finish line and going up towards the starting line. So it has nothing to do with the traditional "Drag Racing" you usually see, it is its own thing. Some like it and some don't. Either way I really appreciate you checking out my videos Kevin! I guess I’ll just have too except that “being its own thing/style” But I can’t agree with it being “ street racing” not when there’s so many pro level cars involved. Probably a generation thing but too me when you start putting this kinda money and parts into and on these cars , for me that just turns them into full race cars nothing that you would drive any distance on the true street. Ada 1812 while I do agree that these cars are faster , I don’t understand why you only race half as far , I guess I kinda understand the simulating “street” racing although the “street” racing I grew up with was either stoplight to stoplight (approximately 1 city bock) or we went out to the country somewhere and marked off a 1/4 mi. And away we went. I was just trying too understand where the 1/8 mi. distance originated from. I guess I’m just old fashioned,
I understand the quarter-mile I'm the same way they should be racing a quarter mile but someone on TH-cam told me it's due to insurance purposes that's why they race 8th mile
I respect that chief has a fast car and has lots of fans, but i have lost all respect for him as a person. Hes pulled way too many shenanigans and showed some pretty negative attributes in my eyes. Thats just me. Its a shame how the street outlaws show has changed so much since the beginning and has gone so far down hill. Great video tom. Your vid game is really strong and just keeps getting better.
Thank you! And I agree with you about the show. It would be nice if they could some how scrap the cars they have and start fresh with some real street cars that everyone can relate to once again. I know that's dreaming but I think that is what is on a lot of peoples minds.
tomeighty agreed. I know power adder technology and affordability have come a long way, but these guys have waaaaay too much cash in these to still be considered true street cars imo.
The motor yes the paint no cheap is trying to put respect back to the old racer who used to run that car on the track before he rebuilt it and he's got parts from his crew and everything else if you guys really watch the show and pay attention this s*** you would understand that it's a tribute to the respect of the other racers.
Richard Roma- ricer motor,,,really? I give him props for staying with the Pontiac mill in the GTO. He spanked a lot of racers with that Butler Performance engine. Much better than the Firebird in this video with the BBC to me. The Chevy stuff is cool and fast but it’s basically buy part A, bolt to part B, add part C on top and go fast. Doing that with anything Buick/Olds/Pontiac takes some thought and when you get it right it can be magic.
frank M.- your making me sound like a Chief fan when really I just like the Pontiac stuff, I’ve had four different cars and twice as many engines and they all went to the track a time or two and did ok. You got me on the era though, I’m an old fart and my last trip was 2003 or so. I seem to remember the Crow winning a race or two.
Sorry but I would rather watch JJ Da Boss! I am a fan of yours and used to be a fan of Street Outlaws but Chief put an end to that last season when he clearly tryed to cheat Reaper by telling Freakin Reakin to wait for the light. That's cheating and Chief needs to step down as race master and disqualify himself from this season's list races.
Dan Dunning you do realize it’s a scripted reality tv show right? The whole reaper thing was done to write him off the show and boost ratings at the same time.
