There are not sufficient descriptive words that describe how good this is Paul Carrack and his band understand all the minute details of music that touches the soul and are brilliantly capable of demonstrating it.
Paul..sigh..just keeps doing it for those of us who have adored him and that distinct voice since his Mechanics days..bravo forever..never want to say goodbye..🇨🇦
Me neither.... Ever since "The Living Years" I've discovered all his talent and can't stop listening and learning about his journey!!!!? He's so amazing and has such a cool story to tell about his life from a young child!!!! Just amazing he is!!!! ❤️❤️ His family has backed him up from an early age... What a band!!!!
Paul is in the top 5 all time great lead vocalist. Truly is better every year. Certainly my favorite singer and kudos for putting together an awesome band. Fun video to watch and listen.
Great song, plus version of it! I had the good fortune to see Mike & the Mechanics twice in one week in April of 1989: once in Cortland, NY, the other time in Rochester, NY. Got to meet Paul Carrack and Paul Young. Very kind men, although Paul Carrack impressed me most. All of that said, may Paul Young rest in eternal peace. I was heartbroken when he passed. As for this song, not sure if people realize how difficult it is to whistle as perfectly as Paul does on the song, not to mention never failing to do the same with every version of the tune. Love everything about this song! Lastly, I equally love the version with Paul Carrack, Paul Young and Mike Rutherford. I cannot thank these men enough for the tremendous music they've given to us all these years. Their glorious mark in music will live on forever.
@@christophernowicki8147, the Paul Young you're talking about IS alive and well, but I'm talking about Paul Young who played with Mike + the Mechanics. Below is info regarding his death: Paul Young was a British singer and songwriter. He achieved success in the bands Sad Café and Mike + the Mechanics. Thank you for your beautiful tribute…certainly a great story teller.. and a good longtime friend… So sorry… With the passing of each of these lovely jewels of our lives… I know the love goes on….and the tears flow like rain … blessings to all…❤🌹🖕🏻🌹🖕🏻🌹🪷🌹🖕🏻🖕🏻🖕🏻🖕🏻👍🏻💐✝️🕉️💘
Phenomenal. Describes my life right now, forced apart from my wife under circumstances outside our control. One lyric change for me "living like this feels just like I've died" in place of "baby won't you give me one more try".
That's a funny one, But I think creativity is when you can take an idea or concept and use it to come up with something unique and interesting. What do you think?
Maurice White,Philip Bailey, Verdine White, and the rest of the EWF shining stars.you guys are STILL the best. Oh….how history repeats itself. We’re gett8n there.
If ever there was a song to join in with the whistling....it is this one!!!!!! My dad said not to whistle as it's not lady like!!!......think he would forgive me with the amazingly lovely Paul 💙😊🙏😇
So true! My uncle could whistle beautifully, so he taught me how to whistle and I whistle to this and every tune that I like, nothing wrong with that !
Overlooked Legend Wow always Soooo good , Always Loved Paul and his band Even when he was with Mike and the mechanics etc solo it doesn't matter Truck loads of Talent that always makes my life better! Thanks Paul 💞
Ahhhhhh when i get in my X5 and drive around Taos. Window down. This song on. I always sing it in high harmony. Thanks for so many great memories and songs Paul!!!
This was the song that made me buy "Beggar On a Beach Of Gold". I wasn't a huge Mike & the Mechanics fan until I heard this. Went into their back catalog after and found some gems, mostly sung by Carrick. I first heard of Carrick in '87 when I heard "Don't Shed a Tear". That was my favorite song of that year. Now I realize that he was in other groups that I never knew it was him singing, like "Tempted" by Squeeze or "How Long" by Ace. I have always been envious of this man's voice. So melodic, and it always seems like he never has to try. It just flows out of him like water. When I sing, I try to emulate his style, but I fail miserably.😂 My favorite all-time singer, bar none!
Thank you for all of your brilliant music Mr. Carrack sir! I remember hearing you singing "How Long" with Ace back in the last century, playing on the jukebox in my favourite watering hole. And glad to say I have carried on listening all through your career. Just great singing, songwriting and playing always. Long may it continue.
Your songs just getting better and better! So blessed to see Jack with you and such a fabulous sound! Your talent, music and performance has shaped my playing since 1974 with How Long. As I shared with you a year or so ago, I played that song in a club band here in Asheville North Carolina USA. I still hope to get to England now that Covid is behind us and come to a show sometime this year.
Ladies and gentleman, listen carefully, you dont find such kind of music now a days. Thats world class, simple as that.
Soy mexicano y digo hermosa
