  • Jinxing Quan (Diamond fist), also known as Jingang Luohan Quan (金刚罗汉拳 Guardian Luohan) or Ba Da Jingang Quan (八大金刚拳 Eight Great Warrior Guards Boxing) is one of the older boxing methods of Northern China. Jingang Quan is a powerful, practical fighting system.
Jingang Quan consists of many skills including a foundation practice, also known as Luohan Quan which allows the most fundamental techniques to be exercised, a core practice which contains all the essential fighting techniques and a set of combat practice which starts from the practice of individual techniques, duel set and free combatives.
Shaolin Jingang Quan is base on Poke feet Kung Fu (Chuojiao) emphasizing on sinking the vital energy into the Dan Tian. The breathing of the practitioner should be even when releasing the energy. The coordination of the mind, energy, strength, and the hands, eyes, body, feet are needed to practice this routine.

This isn't the Neijia I was taught
I was taught Jin Gang Quan that is basically Shaolin Tai Chi
So glad I train Shaolin and Wudang for Artistic expression, Sword and Spear training
For actual combat I train in Krav Maga, Silat , Slavic Boxing, Jeet Kune Do, Judo , Jujitsu and Apache Knife Fighting
Just like Special Forces and Secret Service Agents and is why I don't worry about much

this style is "jingang baji quan." it's obviously a combination of Shaolin and baji quan, quite irrelevant styles. this style was taught by monk Degen to his disciple Zhu Tinxi, and Zhang Shijie has an instructional video of its 1st form, and Pan Xuangzi performs its 2nd form. this style, though taught by monk Degen, is not part of Shaolin kung fu. he learned most of his styles from outside of the temple. this is not a so old style.

It is funny how the supposed guardians of traditional kung fu are the ones passing off newly minted modern wushu forms as the real deal.
The old traditional forms disappear and the forms created by choreographers like so many olympic floor exercise routines are the ones passed down to the next generation.
    So sad.
