I am loving this series! When you get the stacks gone (because yes I am rooting for you to have none left) have you considered doing something like picking a random shelf and reading all the unread books on it or if you don't read them you unhaul? Kind of a cross between self destructing books and shelve it or scrap it xx
@ba_samsoum The above would basically be like Emily Fox's One Week, One Shelf challenge. Becca shelves unread and read together, so that method would help her continue working through her unread shelved books after she clears the stacks.
Honestly, shelve it or scrap it feel like TV series. I genuinely like it long so dw if you want to read more book per episode or rave about the book, you can. I love this series 💜
I really enjoy that this series lets you test books you're unsure of and even though they can't all be winners it's so satisfying to watch the pile shrink!!
WAKE UP EVERYONE BECCA POSTED A NEW SHELVE IT OR SCRAP IT INSTALLMENT 💕 I adored The Scarlet Alchemist - 5 stars and new favorite book!!! I can't wait for The Blood Orchid in November!
Ive watched every episode of this series in ONE DAY. You have inspired me to go through my shelves and pull out anything i would be willing to unhaul and start my own round of shelve it or scrap it! I have 26 books in my own stacks, most of which are YA that ive had for years and never gotten around to. Thanks for the inspiration!
Oooh I absolutely loved The Crimson Moth and I’m scared to dive into hardcore fantasy! I’m completely with you being sensitive to sounds. I hate that I’m this way and wish I wasn’t. Even hearing a tv in another room, music, people outside, the cat licking, clocks ticking, hearing someone playing videos on their phone.. 😭 Literally tips me to tears sometimes
A fellow Gideon Sharpe enthusiast ❤️🔥! He is my favorite character in Heartless Hunter (The Crimson Moth) and wow I basically agree with everything you said about the book. I can’t wait for Rebel Witch!
Again - obssssesssed with this vlog series! 😍😍😍 I LOVED The Crimson Moth - 5☆s! 💝 Metroplois Mania sounds adorable! I gave The Scarlet Alchemist 3☆. I gave The Last Tale of the Flower Bride 3☆ - the writing was delicious until the last half - felt like it was written by an entirely different writer and bummed me out. Subscription-box towel uses 101 - priceless! 😂❤️ I so love that you both sent each other the SAME book! 😍 I love thunderstorms & the sound is soothing! 🌧 🌦
I'm so happy you liked Crismon Moth. I always get nervous when you read a book I like. I know it's silly but I just hope you like them also. I'm looking forward to book two.
This series is so good! I ended up unhualing most of the locked library books, I kept a few, but the more recent ones I gave to my sister, before deciding to cancel my subscription.
Hey hun !! Love this series and I’m so happy to see it again ! Easily one of my favourites I’ve seen and I get so excited everytime I see you’ve uploaded ! 😊
Your last video made me create a tbr spinner wheel and THE SEROTONIN! I've created one for everything. Restaurants, activities, movies, etc. That spinning sound just boosts my mood better than a cup of coffee. 😂
Love this it has made me determined to clear some of my shelves I’m down 17 books in a week as I’ve read 5 and been brutal with DNFs and getting rid of books that I’m not interested in.
Ooh I'm so excited to read The Crimson Moth! Glad to see you enjoyed it. 😊 Also we have very similar music taste so I'm always so happy when you include your concert footage in vlogs 💜
first episode ive seen of this series and im already loving it! about winter’s orbit - the treaty needs to happen so thea is protected by the iskat empire and not essentially killed or taken over by other powers - thea is ceding to one colonizer to avoid a “worse” one. taam dying puts the treaty in jeopardy because it makes the empire believe that he was assassinated by theans and that there actually isn’t peace between the planets. we do see theans in the book who want to push back on the empire, so the threat of not having a treaty is real. it wasn’t my favorite book, but thought i’d clear that up!
1:26:56 Of my friends, Winter’s Orbit got at most, 3 stars. It’s basically a story about Intimate Partner Violence, where one partner is just retraumatized over and over again. I have PTSD and I was warned away from it 😢
Based on what you said about book three, (before you started it) it sounds like you'd really enjoy Furyborn. I can't remember the author off the top of my head but it's so good.
@@BeccaandTheBooks honestly, I can see that. It is original in some sense but I feel like it took so many unoriginal pieces to make itself original.but that's the good thing about reading. It's subjective.
Ah yes, new video to help through my Monday morning work ❤❤ I love the chaos that is Ms Bree, her licking your face as you're working out. and the face she makes when you tell her off about the bone chewing 😂😂😂 she said "mind your own business" 😂😂😂😂 Loved loved this vlog, it's one of my fave series ❤ also made me realize that if I would get rid of all my 3 star reads, I'd have empty shelves galore 😂😂
That copy of A River of Golden Bones looks so gorgeous!!!! It's a shame it wasn't for you. It was one of my favorite books of last year and I'm trying to own all the covers of it at this point.
We have a long weekend here next weekend - so I’ve picked up my library hold of Crimson Moth so I’m ready to go! 😊 this vlog series is my fave on booktube - love it!
Love the series! So glad to have an update. I'm sorry you didn't have a great time with Winter's Orbit, but since you said you liked the writing style, I think it would be worth trying Ocean's Echo! It's technically a companion novel but it really stands on its own, and isn't about the politics from Winter's Orbit at all. Plus there's no murder mystery!
I really love this series and actually have now started one of my own called Read it or Reap where I have to roll a punishment die if I don't read the book I choose and unhaul however many books it says! I really want to read the crimson moth, BUT...I have a phobia of moths 😅 I did enjoy winter's orbit- the audiobook was great! I just felt the pacing was a little off for me to LOVE it I am so with you with the neighbours in the garden thing. I would love to spend more time in the garden but they are constantly out there in the summer and as we have a super low fence, they always want to talk or comment about "oh I saw you holding your head, everything okay?" Yes, I'm reading, leave me alone lol!
I love Winters Orbit, interesting to see your view on it! I didn’t actually find the politics confusing, personally, but it was definitely a bit vague in the beginning, you have to read between the lines and more is revealed later on.
This has very quickly become one of my favorite series on booktube. I appreciate the concert footage too. It has been a million years since I've seen We the Kings or AAR live. Do We the Kings still play a cover of The Middle by Jimmy Eat World in their set? They did that both of the times I saw them but, again, it has been ages since I've seen them live. Glad to hear you had fun at the concert. Especially since so many books were misses.
I borrowed The Last Tale of the Flower Bride from the library early last year and rated it 4 because I loved the vibes. I think the synopsis is all wrong. So I wasn't sure what to think about it. But as time goes on, I still think about it. Now I take it for what it is, rather than what I thought it was supposed to be. So I found a fairly priced version of the Fairyloot version and purchased it because it really is GORGEOUS. I think everything you're saying is fair though - the only gushing review I've ever watched is the Book Leo.
Ok adding The Crimson Moth to my wishlist ! I had similar thoughts about The Last Tale of the Flower Bride, it is a good book and I loved the vibes but at times I was kinda bored by it, maybe not as much as you because I did not guess the reveal right away, only about halway/two third of the way through. I do think that we are supposed to guess before the reveal but yeah probably not during the first 50 pages. I ended up giving it a 3.5/3.75 because I do give half stars.
I love these videos because I'm trying to edit my shelves too, so it feels like I have a buddy to do it with. I love sub boxes, but my book shelves and piles are getting out of hand 😅
Have you ever thought of trying loops to help with issues with sounds ? They have different types depending on what you want to use them for but my friends swear by them.
I have sensitive ears so I can’t put anything in them but I feel like it’s also inconvenient to have to wear them at home bc my neighbours have no consideration for themselves 😂
@BeccaandTheBooks yeah it's not great that you have inconsiderate neighbours! Its just a shame that it means you can't enjoy sitting out when it's nice because of the noise.
I love this series so much! I'm sorry the Last Flower Bride didn't work for you. I feel like it came out and I either heard very little about it or meh reviews! Her writing is beautiful but I guess the story was a bit disjointed.
I wanted to love Last Tale of the Flower Bride SO badly. I've loved Chokshi's writing since reading the star-touched queen in high school, and I still think on a technical level she's one of my favorite writers, but Flower Bride was just so disappointing. I loved everything it was setting up in theory, but I also guessed the "twist" within the first couple chapters so that part didn't shock me, and then I was also just so frustrated with the ambiguity of it. I guess it could be considered magical realism? So maybe I just don't like magical realism? But I wish it would've just committed to either being fantasy or acknowledging that the magic wasn't real. It would've been better in either direction I think
In middle of the locked tomb series and hearing the names gideon and harrow for the crimson moth makes me think the author had also just finished reading it 😂
I adore the Three Body Problem trilogy but it is heavy on concepts and absolutely lacks on characters (development). But if you enjoy space, themes, science, and existential crisis', I highly recommend!
I had a question about the trova trip. Since there are multiple transfers to different cities is it smart to bring a checked bag like a suitcase or is it better to only bring a backpack of some sort?
I always take a checked bag and it’s fine! When you book there is a guide to what luggage you can bring per person, it’s normally the same as flying so a checked bag, carry on and a personal item (like a handbag/purse) I normally take a 26” suitcase and a backpack 😊
It sucks you didn't enjoy Winter's Orbit. While the worldbuilding is very, very gradual, I feel like the sci-fi aspect makes more sense at the end. The characters are where it's at though! Shame it wasn't for you! Also, I think you helped me make a decision on Flower Bride. I don't really like slow books, so I'll probably get rid of that one. Thanks!
Sadly, the Crimson moth in the United States is published by an imprint who on social media specifically Tiktok has some discourse so I have not yet read the book though I really would like to.
Girl get into an ortho if the feet things still happening. I have falling arches and was told I shouldn’t run. Ha. I got good insoles from an ortho and I’m a 9x marathoner.
I am loving this series! When you get the stacks gone (because yes I am rooting for you to have none left) have you considered doing something like picking a random shelf and reading all the unread books on it or if you don't read them you unhaul? Kind of a cross between self destructing books and shelve it or scrap it xx
The issue is that she doesn't have space
@ba_samsoum The above would basically be like Emily Fox's One Week, One Shelf challenge. Becca shelves unread and read together, so that method would help her continue working through her unread shelved books after she clears the stacks.

Same! Loved Scarlet Alchemist so much
this series has me hooked! every time i see your book stacks dwindle it gives me so much serotonin 😄
Yay! Shelve it or scrap it is one of my favourite series on the whole of youtube!
My heart maybe broke a bit when you unhauled Sorcery of Thorns, because I actually love it more than An Enchantment of Ravens XD

Boys Like Girls were my favorite back in the day. So fun to see them back at it. Love this series!
OMG I LOVE METROPOLISMANIA 😭😭😭 I used to play it as a kid and miss it so much
I loved the Crimson Moth too! I couldn’t get my hands on the gorgeous Fairyloot edition but I did rush to buy Owlcrate’s because I was obsessed lol 🥰
Becca is over here smashing this series meanwhile I devour every second of these videos and just add more and more to my tbr 😂 love the video Becca 🥰
Idk what it is about this format that makes it so exciting. 🤩
Again - obssssesssed with this vlog series! 😍😍😍
I LOVED The Crimson Moth - 5☆s! 💝
Metroplois Mania sounds adorable!
I gave The Scarlet Alchemist 3☆.
I gave The Last Tale of the Flower Bride 3☆ - the writing was delicious until the last half - felt like it was written by an entirely different writer and bummed me out.

I so love that you both sent each other the SAME book! 😍
I love thunderstorms & the sound is soothing! 🌧 🌦
This is by far my favourite series on booktube!!!!
The Last Tale of the Flower Bride haunted me. I was quite meh when I read it but wow, it stayed with me.
I love how you told Bree to stop eating that bone and she legit listened to you. 😂😂 what a good girl. 🐶🫶🏻
I'm so happy you liked Crismon Moth. I always get nervous when you read a book I like. I know it's silly but I just hope you like them also. I'm looking forward to book two.
I’m absolutely living for this series!
Oh My God I literally bought The CrimsoN Moth yesterday. I didn't expect that to be the first book of the video wow
This series is so good! I ended up unhualing most of the locked library books, I kept a few, but the more recent ones I gave to my sister, before deciding to cancel my subscription.
love this series so much and every time u scrap a book I'm like HECK YEA GIRL lmao
Hey hun !! Love this series and I’m so happy to see it again ! Easily one of my favourites I’ve seen and I get so excited everytime I see you’ve uploaded ! 😊

We are being fed on this fine Sunday!
My fav series on the internet tbh
I loved the crimson moth! Didnt expect too
I love this series so much.
That concert looked amazing. I was obsessed with Boys Like Girls and We The Kings. Love the nostalgia vibes!!

I love We The Kings. I was lucky enough to become friends with a few of the members. I hope you enjoyed yourself getting to see them and the others.

Even more excited to read Heartless Hunter now! I loved The Last Namsara by her.

Can't wait for the final episode where you just end up buying 4 new bookshelves 😅🤭
Jkjk we are rooting for you!
Love the Mayday Parade shirt. Love the RM funko pop. Looooove this series 😊

Love this series!!!
Another episode coming soon!!!! My eyes will be peeled.
Yay! My favorite series 💜
I love this series SO MUCH!🔥🔥🔥
I look forward to this one every month!! Too bad this was a high dnf episode but maybe that means the next one will be great 😊
oh my gosh I LOVE the song Check Yes Juliet! This song was my ringtone years ago 🥺❤
Dang bummer you didn’t enjoy TLTotFB more, it was my favourite read of 2023. I was obsessed!
I love this series and seeing your progress and I'm so excited to go to Zanzibar.

They didn’t! I saw them for the first time in 2010 and I dont remember if they did then either but they did cover Mr Brightside this time 😂

I am enjoying this series a lot.
She’s hereeeeeee
I fear for you because Cixin Liu does not know how to write characters. Good luck!
So excited to get a new shelve it or scrap it! Worth the wait
oh hi mayday parade shirt😍
also the first 50 pages of Flower Bride were incredible but the rest of it I was also bored ):
NOW I'M HEELS OVERRR HEADDD

love this series!

does anyone know where the art is from behind her in the small black frame at 52:45??????
I want to know this too!!
Personal opinions rule every time over book blurb ❤
I liked last tale of flower bride but I listened to it which probably helped 😊
Great video
The crimson moth sounds just like something I’ve read recently but I cannot for the life of me put my finger on it
To me it sounds like Serpent & Dove
I love these videos because I'm trying to edit my shelves too, so it feels like I have a buddy to do it with. I love sub boxes, but my book shelves and piles are getting out of hand 😅

Enjoyed this 😇
In middle of the locked tomb series and hearing the names gideon and harrow for the crimson moth makes me think the author had also just finished reading it 😂
You know you could start counting from the other side of the pile.. so taht way you can have the books that you want to read the most first
I’d love to come to Zanzibar but it’s during term time for me😢
Love this series!
At least I’ll see you in Egypt 😉
So, Crimson Moth is a retelling of the Scarlett Pimpernel
I adore the Three Body Problem trilogy but it is heavy on concepts and absolutely lacks on characters (development). But if you enjoy space, themes, science, and existential crisis', I highly recommend!

I'm curios how many books do you own?
Please read The Aurelian Cycle by Rosaria Munda. It is YA, but, it's such a great underrated series
Sadly, the Crimson moth in the United States is published by an imprint who on social media specifically Tiktok has some discourse so I have not yet read the book though I really would like to.
