I miss them! Such a clean slate. Their legs were always in sync. & They were very sharp In all of their dances the chemistry was always there. Just a great pair all around 💕 One of the best if not THE best ice dance couple. Miss them!
Wonderful display by Scott and Tessa in this Tango, where there is a perfect alignment of all of Scott and Tessa's dance steps, in a dance movement marked by the enormous speed, elegance , joy , and sensuality that Scott and Tessa brought to this musical composition with Spanish characteristics . Scott and Tessa's performances are a True Art of Ice Dancing expressed in several aspects: technical, artistic, musical, as well as in sensuality and elegance. And to achieve all this , it seems that, in addition to their artistic skills, Scott and Tessa must have a very determined, competitive and resilient personality, which would have allowed them to define the objectives to be achieved, and to implement the necessary discipline to be able to achieve them. We can only give APPLAUSES to these two excellent Figure Skating Athletes.
Now that knowing next season's sd will be tango, I'm watching this over and over again, crying all day bc I know I will never be able to watch any tango like this😭😭 the best tango in the history😭😭
I usually was boring during the most of the CD's and I am sure that I watch over and over none of them. But this CD..OMG!!!! So precise, so passionate, so expressive!!! We saw the same dance all day long but Tessa and Scott could add sg special even to this strictly limited routine..I can't find the words, just stunning.
Compulsory dances are dances with specific steps, hand positions, etc. Each couple skates the exact same steps to the same music. The dances are literally in black and white - you can find the dance patterns online, along with specific instructions that dictate how the partners hold each other, the position of the skaters' free legs, and the type of expression the skaters display.
Last compulsory EVER by Canadians on Canadian ice...... they deserved a clapping from the audience AND the Standing-ovation no question about that. Truely deserved their win, and I'm sooo glad they are going for Sochi

Thank you for uploading this video. They may be retired now but we can still see them perform thru this video on YT. How I wish they will come back to perform again. Two equally wonderful performers dancing to the best of their abilities. Sometimes I don't want to watch video of Tessa and Scott because I feel sad because I dreamed that one day they will become a couple. But that's the reality and I have to accept it. Talk about saving the best for last. This was matchless. I love D&W; they're my current favorites. But no one delivered a compulsory as good as this one. Sorry, but I didn't see a first-place performance from Domnina & Shabalin. Charlie White brought the fire and passion (he always does)... but Scott Moir skated with fire, passion AND authority... he owned this dance and Tessa was right there with him. Bravo. Most beautiful posture since T&D (my all time faves)... just my opinion.
Domnina & Shabalin were put 1st to give them as big a lead on Belbin & Agosto as possible. The judges knew from the Europeans DomShabs would be weak in the OD and FD, and only their CD was strong. So to save them the bronze they had to be as far ahead of B&A in the CD as possible, and the judges definitely did not want an all NA podium.
Watching this performance of theirs at Olympics was the first time I had seen Tessa and Scott, but I immediately became a huge fan! :D They are fantastic!

Wow . How masterfully Scott leads Tessa in this tango, where Scott perfectly represents, from the beginning to the end, all the characteristic choreographic of the dance modality that is tango. Scott, as always, had immense determination and the "grit" needed to dance to Latin music. A lot of applauses to Scott and Tessa , who corresponded perfectly to the leading of Scott in this Tango.
I don't know why they were placed second after CD, because wow look at their lines, EDGES (!), connecting to music... wow, that's how Olympics Champions road has been started and in last 5 sec of dance every viewer at the rink was 100% sure VM are Champions
The politics of the time. Everybody knew Russia was going to be placed first after the compulsories, it was predicted, and that they would then drop. In my mind, Russia should have been fourth overall not third. This is a stunner of a CD, it was the best of the night and I was there.
I'm 75. Torvall & Dean ruined me for years. TH-cam sent me a clip of *that* lift & descent from Moulin Rouge 2018... And I haven't put my phone down since ❤ ! *Using every note* is what thrilled me long ago. And now.

Definitely one of the best doing compulsaries. The edges were deep and clean and you can see they put their performance out as if it were an OD. I do have to say that Domnina and Shabalin edged them in the CD in the Olympics but I'm very, VERY happy with Tessa and Scott won the Olympic Gold. Either this version of the Tango Romantica or their Golden Waltz at the Worlds were their best CD performances.

As an old Roman saying actually says "De gustibus non est dispuntandum": but "ugly" is the Notre Dame Hunchback or the Lock Ness Monster not Scott Moir. He's a young man, with an athletic,well-proportioned body, with an expressive face, a winning smile and a stunning elegance and at the same time sensuality when he skates.He may not like you but you can say whatever about this guy except that he is ugly.

The great champions like Virtue and Moir or Davis and White are able both to win and to lose.And they all do it with class and style.They have shown that for years. Oksana Domnina (who is glorious) was just so superior to Max Shabalin he wasn't quite the same after his injury. Tessa and Scott just match each other, beat for beat, leg line for leg line, emotion for emotion. Different style, but up there with Torvill and Dean and Klimova and Ponomarenko as the best of the best.

I agree... I was never a fan of Virtue & Moir in their free dances, etc. But when you saw them in compulsories... You just couldn't deny that their skating skills were absolutely incredible. I remember a super picky commentator analyzing the Paso Doble CD to death and explaining how they were basically the only ones actually skating it properly. Which was true. Couples like Domnina/Shabalin could only dream they had such deep edges and such flow.
This dance is called a compulsory dance, and it's very short. It aims to decide between the couples on a realization of technical steps imposed and identical for all. There is no room for free improvisation or performing acrobatic lifts. This part of the competition no longer exists today. During the 2010 Olympics Virtue and Moir produced 2 spectacular programs, the RD on a flamenco and the FD on the 5th of Malher. These 2 exceptional programs remain incomparable and bear witness to their absolute and unparalleled genius at all times.
