- While Albedo was immersed in painting, he was suddenly pulled into his canvas by a mysterious force, plunging him into a strange world of art. In this world, he transformed into a two-dimensional figure and was continuously tainted by various artistic styles-from the heavy strokes of oil paint to the delicate washes of watercolor, and finally to the stark lines of printmaking. With each transformation, he gradually lost his original power, until he became a colorless sketch. Eventually, Albedo uncovered the terrifying truth behind this nightmare...

In my experience it’s almost always Albedo, Venti and Scaramouche/Wanderer animations that go absolutely crazy with their graphics
Maybe because Albedo is very complex as a character about origin and story, so the people can go wild with many aspects oh his life and personality ✨️
God I absolutely LOVE how many paint styles were incorporated in this, also the animation's BEAUTIFUL, massive props to the animation team and sound producers for literally everything!!
This reminds me of that one game where a painter is driven into madness after his wife died and his daughter left him and has been making many paintings of his wife non stop.

The bit where he’s in the flower field and the sky starts bleeding black ink, I bet that represents the forbidden knowledge beyond the firmament leaking in. This all happened after he got knocked into the Abyss and fought a hydro tulpa, which represents the primordial sea in a way. The dragon was probably just a representation of the past, and it ate him. Then his alternate self showed up and stabbed his vision, which caused him to revert back to the chalk from which he came.
-no, he didn’t get stabbed in the vision he got stabbed in the heart by a reflection. Considering simulanka that reflection could represent his fate, the evil albedo who destroys the world that he’s hinted at.

the dragon that ate him is actually Durin, which is technically his "brother" as they were created by the same witch from the hexenzirkel
he got stabbed by the other albedo that was introduced in a limited dragonspine event, the one without a star on his neck
This is not a quality I expect from fanwork.. This is industrial level of quality and creativity..
Bro still looks he would fit right in Love&Deepspace at the very start/end
Though I was absolutely not understanding what was going on, the artstyle carried the whole video to the finish line

Not sure if you want it but here’s my interpretation as a bit of a lore nerd :)
There was an event in Genshin long time ago that I think they’re referring to.
You probably know Albedo wasn’t born. He was created by Reindottir. He was the perfectly successful alchemy experiment in creating life. Even his name comes from Alchemy.
But before Albedo Reindottir had already tried many times to create life. But she wasn’t pleased with the attempts.
First she made Durin, the great dragon that Dvalin had to fight and kill to save Mondstadt. The one whose heart beats in dragonspine cave, who gave the whole mountains its name.
She also created a man who looked exactly like Albedo, except for the golden star at his throat. But he wasn’t perfect, not Albedo. she deemed him a failed experiment, didn’t even give him a name. Instead of being cared for he was unceremoniously discarded and thrown away like garbage as a defective experiment. Swallowed and stuck inside the rotting corpse of his dragon “brother” for centuries and left for dead by his creator. (I swear he and Scara could start a club for abandonment issues.)
But the pre-albedo didn’t die. He got strong enough to slowly heal and escape. He found Albedo but didn’t reveal himself, instead started to secretly spying on him.
Instead of focusing his Decades of bitterness and hate on his creator, he started to hate Albedo. The golden boy. Seeing how he was part of the world. Loved and appreciated. Everything he never had. Everything he could never be, the defect.
So he decided to take it all. Kill Albedo without anyone knowing and steal his life. To become him.
He didn’t succeed and it was left open in game. No one knows what really happened to him afterwards. But he was very very interesting character that has lived on in the fandom.
To me this animation represents the fight between the two. If you look at the reflection Albedo that smiles menacingly, he doesn’t have the star on his throat. In this version he wins. The Albedo with the gold star is stuck in the painting.
Since Pre-Albedo was never given a name there are few community given names widely used. Susbedo is one.
Rubedo, a previous stage in alchemy before Albedo is reached.
Dorian to fit his brother Durin.
And Romulus. (one of the twin brothers of legends, Romulus and Remus.)

Correct me if I'm wrong... but he doesn't have his star mark at the end. And he seems to almost "test" his body. Like it's new to him. Considering what just happened moments before... I think it's safe to say we have a Susbedo among us.

the color always being a present theme, art styles changing rapidly and even the choice of choosing Albedo is just so interesting.

Average day for Albedo
I loved the different styles of animation and how they fit perfectly with the storyline. Not just a superficial artistic choice but a deep and visual way to tell a story. Very poetic how colours represented life or maybe identity. Them being slowly stolen away until only linear remains. A mere shell of a person.
Albedo is one of my absolute favourites and the “Suspedo” event wasamazing. Always wished to know more about the previous one. The one without the star on his throat.

This was stunning! I love how trippy the visuals and mix of different styles were, all while looking fantastic! Everything was supper fluid too, including the actual fluids. And the sound design and music were well done and fitting!
4:20 we can't tell if the diamond is still on his neck. Is it still Albedo? Was he replaced with an imposter? That's what it seems to be suggesting.
What an absolutely marvellous work. I was on the edge of my seat during Hoyofair.

romulus seems to be the inspiration or reference of this character story. both romulus and albedo have a brother who tried to kill the other so it seemed fitting
