Tony reduced the pressure to 1.6 BAR on the quarter panel to keep the blend as small as possible as there was not a lot of space to work with. After that it was turned back to 2 BAR for the rest of the job.
Luv these tips would like to see some on pearl whites as well I've found that not hardening the ground coat but wet on wet application helps with bumper jobs matching little better seems to darken or mix with ground so that it doesn't have that super white side tone? If that makes sence
Would like to add on some jobs like for ug if I leave wt386 flop control out of mix on bumber jobs seems to work but Nissan QAC which has hardly any wt386 with no chips even with Camara always seems to be too white so I have to come up with something that works or blend qrt panel or fender if to off
Also got my 1st 46g in today Mazda excited to play with that I'll let u know how that goes read TDs been waiting on this one for awhile now sorry I have no one to bounce this stuff off but paint reps lol i paint between 200-300 hrs a week
I have a technical question concerning 8098 Clear. Is the 3394 Reducer a reactive Reducer? Am I obligated to add it to the mix? I would like to try it without the Reducer to achieve a thicker film build as my preppers love to leave pinholes in their repairs. And yes, I do know do know the solution to the problem is not a thicker Clear lol!! Just one of my "Real Life Body Shop" problems!!
I used to spray Spies back in 2009... If you are having pinhole issues - That need to be addressed before the primer goes on... So,,, Who is primering ??? They need to mix up some dolphin glaze & get after them pinholes & apply with a razor blade. If all else fails - Although not suggested,, At the very least finger paint in the pinholes with primer..... Anyone spending the amount of $ to spray Spies in their shop shouldn't be running their shop like that..
Hi, yes you are correct. As I had limited room available to make the blend on the rear fender I used a slightly lower air pressure (1.6 bar) to restrict repair size. Once done I then adjusted the guin to the normal recommended 2bar inlet pressure for the main repair area and blend on the front door.
This the most complete blending video that I watched. Just hope some clients where eager enough to learn.
Glad you like it!

The 8098 is a North American product, so best is to contact your local Axalta technical team - but thanks for watching.
