      Hi Keith. Thanks mate. The film crew I took down with me were form FUJIFILM and they were gobsmacked by the process and effort in the field. They were pretty surprised to see me using no filters! I did tell them that thats about a complex workflow and understanding your equipment and its capabilities, metering to the LEFT and so on. It truky was a wonderful trip, and spiritual too. At 11:54 i think Dave (who is a spiritual Maori man, connected to the landscape and what we had just done, and i think he maybe had a little well up in his eye! Was truly magnificent to be a part of it and topped off by Nat Geo thinking so too! This trip... is WHY i do landscapes exclusively. Kind regards for the kind words Keith.

    Hello Ewan, amazing videos back to back...and the captures ....no words....my question to you is which camera produced better ....Pentax or Fuji.....please answer... And I just start following your channel...maybe after Corona ...we will meet for your masterclass....

    • @EwanDunsmuirImages
      @EwanDunsmuirImages  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Divya - Many thanks my friend. Both platforms produce amazing images, but in a different way. The fuji files are a little cleaner than the Pentax, but my workflow, is better suited ot the PENTAX files, which are simply breathtaking, when you apply a clear workflow in post processing. (when i say that my workflow prefers the Pentax files - i mean that normally, I like the images to be rendered in a flat way, where i can build them layer by layer, which the Pentax allows. The Fuji files are more 'complete', which tolerates less manipulation). Hope that answers. Would love to see you in NZ! Kind regards, form this part of the world. = ) Ewan

    and “WOW” again ~ what an experience you’re group had…..
    I’ve meant to ask you what mode do you shoot in ? Manual, AP and do you expose to the right?
    Your comment about getting off the road side ~ here in Wester-Ross, Scotland, over the last year I’ve started getting back into hiking. I had driven past the road side starting points of various tracks ~ so I have been stunned at the scenes / vistas that are there just a few miles further on. Remote Scottish locations for me has been heaven (it’s really why I started my TH-cam channel > to share this experience).

      Hi James'ss. Thanks for your support and kind commentary. I shoot manual even when conditions are changing quick - just do the maths in my head = ) (Old school) I dont expose to the RIGHT however. This was a technique that was developed for the advantages of T Grain film properties, and lack of DR in post, allowing one ot get the most detail in the shadow areas. I meter to the LEFT, under exposing everytnkg to maintain a good base line of accurate colour, and then lift shadows selectively. Hope that make sense. Ewan

    • @EwanDunsmuirImages
      @EwanDunsmuirImages  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Salman. Re the comparison. It all depends on your mastery in post processing. Pentax files are more manipulable, whereas the Fujifilm files, are crisper, have more contrast, and colour in RAW file, but i personally prefer the PENTAX over the GFX50.
